Bye Bye Old People Challenge and "Fake News"

Bye Bye Old People Challenge and "Fake News" My original old people dropped like flies today. I was following Darron, who decided to move out of the retirement home and into the shabby cabin. I needed to make some changes to the old people's mausoleum, so I had Darron retrieve Amir's remains so I didn't lose them while I added more floral arrangements. After I made the changes, I sent Darron into Grim's house for a couple drinks and to practice painting, as I spotted an easel there, and that was one thing Darron wanted to do. As he was painting, I heard a scuffle outside and remembered the creature under the welcome mat. I had missed what exactly went down in the previous account of an npc Sim dying there, so I wanted to see how it played out. Like the previous case, this was a paparazzi who was persistent in trying to disturb Grim. He tempted fate several times, and eventually, this happened to him. This is not how the newspaper reported it. According to the...

I Love Old People challenge #7 - Break-ups, deaths, and parties

I Love Old People challenge #7 - Break-ups, deaths, and parties So I went back to check on Shawn and Heather after being away with the other elder members, and discovered that they went from being boyfriend/girlfriend to being enemies! Heather must have had enough of Shawn's bad behavior - good for her.  While he was sleeping, she got on the phone and moved back to Shady Acres. (I merged her back.)Then she sent a break-up text to Shawn. Shady Acres had changed a lot since Heather had moved out: Darron moved out on his own to the shabby shack, and the caretakers, the Barney's, had moved out to the Orville Jackson house, and sold the place to the Godfrey's. (I created the Godfrey's and put them in the house.) Meet the Godfrey's Gerald Godfrey needed a fresh start after the tragic water-magic-trick accident that took the lives of his wife, Shanon, and youngest child Corrine. He and his remaining child, teenager Erika, moved to Deery Meadows and Gerald bought the Shady...

I Love Old People #6

Image
I Love Old People #6 I switched households for maybe two sim-days, trying to get my Sims' friends enough beds and pet supplies for their households and get to know what was up with them.  When I went back only Darron, the caretakers, and the dog and cat were still there.  I hunted down the others. Dara and Amir shacked up together in my 10x10 challenge beach house, and Shawn and Heather shacked up in my 10x10 challenge colorful house. No one got married, but I guess they wanted their privacy and to be away from the drama.  I decided to roll with it. I will visit a different household each day and see what they are up to. I will "recruit" some more elders to move into the retirement home and keep Darron company. On Wednesday I visited Shawn and Heather. Shawn was mesmerized by the digital fish window on the second floor and decided he wanted to learn to fish.  (I had to adjust the stairs in front of the fish window as I discovered that they wouldn't climb them. ...

"I Love Old People" gone off the tracks

"I Love Old People" gone off the tracks Well, that didn't go as planned. I've been building my 10x10 challenge lots in the same town as my "I Love Old People" challenge. The retirement home had two caretakers (a young couple) and five elders (three males and two females). I switched households briefly to fix up the living situation for my Simself, and when I switched back, the elders had paired up - Dara (the flirty ex-showgirl) and Amir (a very nice retired horseman and engineer) had become romantic and Shawn (mean-spirited and always gunning for a fight) and Heather (the hopeless romantic psychic) had become romantic. My caretakers have been invited to friends' party, and while attending, I noticed the households didn't have what they needed for the number of people they had living there and no pet stuff when they had pets. I switched households for maybe one or two sim-days tops, and by the time I switched back, Dara and Amir had shacked up in my...
