Bye Bye Old People Challenge and "Fake News"
My original old people dropped like flies today. I was following Darron, who decided to move out of the retirement home and into the shabby cabin. I needed to make some changes to the old people's mausoleum, so I had Darron retrieve Amir's remains so I didn't lose them while I added more floral arrangements. After I made the changes, I sent Darron into Grim's house for a couple drinks and to practice painting, as I spotted an easel there, and that was one thing Darron wanted to do.
As he was painting, I heard a scuffle outside and remembered the creature under the welcome mat. I had missed what exactly went down in the previous account of an npc Sim dying there, so I wanted to see how it played out.
Like the previous case, this was a paparazzi who was persistent in trying to disturb Grim. He tempted fate several times, and eventually, this happened to him.
This is not how the newspaper reported it. According to the paper Raymond Hoyt drown in a public swimming pool, and a lot of elders were present to witness it. It's a conspiracy, man!
As Darron sat down to his morning paper the following morning, he started reading the obituaries, as old people are prone to do. He learned that both Dara and Shawn died the day before, (and I later learned that Heather had also died, probably the day before that.)
This got Darron to thinking, "I wonder when my time will come?"
Well, guess what, Darron, today is your day! Rest in peace, you will no longer be plagued with panic attacks.
I'm sure Grim is exhausted with all the reaping he has done in the last few days. Gerald Godfrey, the new caretaker of the retirement home, gathered up all the gravestones of the original five and placed them in the old people mausoleum the retirement center built in Grim's cemetery.
I'm considering deleting this game at this point. First, I will check and make sure I saved all my builds, and maybe start a new empty world - one with more 10x10 lots for the 10x10 challenges, and start fresh. I still have Amber, Puzzle and Roman in an alternative universe as a spin-off of this game. I have a new game in mind for Roman too, and frankly, I've got a lot of duplicate characters and two games with duplicate worlds.
I think I'll put August Wilkins and his family into Sunset Valley and play there - I haven't played it in quite awhile, even though if given a Sim town to live in, I would choose it.
