Confessions of a Sims 3 Addict

 The 4 Seasons challenge is over! Aspen and Vinny are moving on with their lives.  Here are the highlights: Last days of the challenge: Aspen bought a bee box, but had a traumatic experience, so Vinny took over the honey collection from then on. It was very rainy most days, but the couple didn't let that get in the way of having fun. Date night.  Something about watching Sims dance just lifts my spirits. The bachelorette party started off rainy, but cleared up. Most people changed from their "dress to impress" clothes to swimwear fairly quickly. This outfit is not the least bit flattering for poor Aspen. Here, she's making a friend of Ada, who seems to think her outfit qualifies as formal wear - she wore this to the wedding too. I thought Aspen was going to ruin her dress when she quickly changed into it and ran to the water, but she switched back to her swimsuit in the nick of time!  It looks like the Sanitorium Gardens got the most votes for the wedding venue, so I went in an deleted the center section and put in a wedding arch, a few seats, and table for the cake.  I also put in a banquet table along one side. I suspect I will have to change the lot to a park in order for them to have the party there, then switch it back after the party. (It's on the same lot as the hospital/science lab.) I think I'll put a fountain in the center after the wedding. One potential pitfall is there is a dumpster on the lot outside of the gardens and Aspen has been prone to autonomous dumpster diving lately. I had a previous wedding fiasco where the groom left to go to work (he wasn't controlled by me) and the bride decided to go dumpster diving in her wedding dress while she waited for him.  At the beginning of Spring, Aspen and Vinny had their first spat. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Vinny channeled  his obnoxious inner nerd and insulted Aspen's intelligence.  She was mad at him all day, and they spent the day apart doing their own things.  Too much togetherness can be a bad thing.  At any rate, they quickly patched things up. This woman is bad news.  Her name is Hayley Thibordeaux. She's married to a guy named Garth and both of them are hopeless romantics. She was incessantly flirting with Vinny. At first, Vinny seemed immune to her advances.  He enthused about his upcoming wedding, etc., but she was persistent, and he finally flirted back. I sent him home before he got into too much trouble. Time passed, and she aged up to an elder.  The last interaction she and Vinny had, she was asking him for money.  He didn't give her any, however.  The Meyers' apparently aren't getting along too well lately.  It's time to plan for the wedding that will take place, hell or high water, on the first day of Summer, when the 4 season challenge is over. I'm not much of a wedding planner and my public weddings have had mixed results (See below), but I usually have the lifespan set shorter and haven't been quite as invested in most of my characters.  I want to give these guys a nice wedding that suits their personalities. Of course, I'm fine if there's a little drama as is customary in Sims games. Previous weddings: Aspen is a loner, with only a small circle of friends, so the wedding will be an intimate affair with just a few people invited.  However, she is also frugal, so she won't spring for an exclusive party, and whoever shows up, shows up.  Because she's frugal, we won't be doing any CC shopping for the dress - just what she can get from the thrift-store (standard content).
