Sagehen Mesa - Season 4 Episode 13: Recent Losses and New Beginnings

 


It is a bittersweet day for our friend Sondra Mahon. Today she ties the knot with her dear Tony after dealing with the loss of not one, not two, but three of her parental figures. The first to go was her mother Tess.


Tess Dexter was known for her sculpting talent and her animosity toward her ex-husband Cliff Mahon. She earned an art degree from Sim State University in her younger years, and it was there that she met her first husband Cliff. Cliff was a looker, but the union was doomed due to his distain for her talent and his misogynistic tendencies. When Sondra was a baby, Tess had enough, and after one huge blow-up where Cliff ousted her and baby Sondra from the house, she sought help from Dr. Ellen Talbot, a psychiatrist new to town, who helped Tess build up her self-esteem and find a place to raise baby Sondra and oldest son Clancy as a single mom. She wasn't single for long. She soon met a compassionate young man named Anton Dexter.


Anton and Tess had a rather peaceful life, and it is Anton Sondra first thinks of when asked about her Dad. To her, Anton was Dad, and Cliff was Father. Anton, like Tess, had a rough start in life. Anton grew up in the foster care system and always aspired to be a professional photographer. Before arriving in Sagehen Mesa, he tried his luck as a photographer in Bridgeport, but never made it big. He met up with a friend from the foster care system, and together they decided to try their luck in Sagehen Mesa. Photography became more of a hobby than a profession for Anton who took a low-level job at the hospital. He soon met Tess, fell in love, and they were together ever since. 


Finally, we have Cliff: Sondra's birth father and Tess' ex-husband. Cliff's family has been in Sagehen Mesa since Sagehen Mesa existed. He came from a long line of miner's who established a claim (which is now run by his youngest son Timothy.) Cliff took great pride in his heritage and was known to have a fiery temper and never backed down from a fight. He eventually fell in with a band of thugs who operated an illegal buzzberry farm, and his life of crime took root. He quickly worked his way up to leader of the organization and between pulling heists at art galleries and robbing tombs of the ancients, he made quite a good living for himself. Despite being hounded by the law a good chunk of his life, he managed to slip from their grasp and never had to do hard time. The most time he spent in jail was a few nights for minor infractions during his early years.

May they all rest in peace. It's time to move on to happier times - starting with Sondra's wedding. 
The wedding itself went off without a hitch - with the exception of a few bladder failures from uninvited guests, that is. Here is a glimpse of Sondra's wedding album.

Time to end the party before things get too ugly. All-in-all, the party went rather smoothly by Sims 3 standards.

Tiny Town Challenge Part 1

 I started my version of Deligracy's Tiny Town Challenge. Hers is for the Sims 4, so I had to adapt it. I also created a Builders Version, but I'm trying the gameplay version. Here are the rules. MODIFIED TINY TOWN CHALLENGE The aim of this challenge is to build 7 tiny homes on one lot, for 7 sims that match their desires and skills. The Rundown: - Each sim has a set skill that you must utilize in order to fund their tiny home build. For example Frank Stem likes gardening, so you must sell things he grows to fund his Tiny House build.  - You must also represent each sim's favorite style and color in the build (see sim characters below) - You can only work on one sim's house at a time, move each sim in individually as you "unlock" them.  -To "unlock" the next sim, you must complete the previous sim's home.  How to play: - Start by moving your first sim into the Tiny Town lot. Sagehen Mesa - Part 12 - Cliff's Projects

 No one can say Cliff Mahon isn't a man who believes in setting goals. Here they are.  1. Complete the tunnel from the buzzberry farm to my property and build a shed around it for staging the shipments. 2. Repair my relationship with my oldest son Clancy. 3. Marry a good looking woman who will clean my house and prepare my meals.  Lets start with goal number one.  After several false starts and cave-ins, I have finally succeeded in finding a stable route for the tunnel and have completed it.  Not only did I complete the tunnel, but I also completed the shed around it for staging the shipments.  The shed is at the edge of my property near the beach where boats can pick up the contraband. This success earned me a promotion or two. I have also inadvertently provided the fine citizens of Sagehen Mesa a new amenity thanks to one of my missteps.  I managed to tunnel my way into some hot springs, which made its way to the surface for the townspeople to enjoy....
