What is life without taking a few risks, right?

The folks living in the homeless colony see it this way, especially if the risk can pay off in free sodas, a new lover, or a boost to one's career.

Everyone, except Davina, who was too stubborn to try it, had a go at the soda machine in the garage.

I admit, I was afraid for Angie, as she's unlucky. She wasn't lucky enough to get a soda, but she was lucky enough not to get killed by blunt force trauma.

Paulo succeeded in getting a free soda.

I apparently didn't get a picture of Kirk giving it a try, but I spotted him taking care of baby Darby, which was very sweet.

Kirk has developed a clever strategy for earning money. First he yells at someone and gets them all upset . . .

... which then gives him the opportunity to cheer them up with a Sing-A-Gram.

The man's a genius! He also managed to track down Josephine, the wealthy widow he encountered last episode.

He tracked her down at the public pool where she was playing her bass for tips, (because that's normal.)

She was still broken-hearted over the loss of her husband, so Kirk consoled and comforted her (when he wasn't actively cheering at his successes in being sensitive to her needs.)

They became friends, . . .

. . . then he commenced to wooing her.

If he plays his cards right, he might be in that mansion of hers in no time.

Meanwhile, Carmen was excited to have his first real gig.

He was to perform his magic act at the Luminous Lounge under the stage name Aargh the Toothsome.

The performance didn't go as well as he hoped.

In fact, "Aargh" is a name that best describes how it went.

It was about this time that I heard the "death" music that plays when the Grim Reaper comes around. Grim came for someone, but I don't know who. At least it wasn't Carmen.

Needless to say, the audience generally wasn't impressed with Carmen.
