Sagehen Mesa - Season 4, Episode 4 - Overlord's Interlude
Hello,
This is Sagehen Mesa's Overlord speaking.
I usually let the characters speak for themselves, but I was a doofus and neglected to save during my last play session, so of course it crashed, and I lost a few days and needed to catch up.
This isn't all that tragic due to the way I play the game. Since I'm not tied to specific households and am not driven by achievements, when things like this happen, I just switch to a different household until the time is caught up.
So we are now with Ronda and Davina and seeing what they were up to during the last days of winter while the search team was out looking for Ronda.
I'm afraid we won't see much of Ronda as the search team have technically not spotted her during this time period. I sent her to take some classes at the business building - writing and an entrepreneur class I had never seen before. (It must be due to a mod I have, but I don't know which one.) Since it seemed awkward to have Ronda narrate since she's making herself scarce, and Davina doesn't seem the type who would talk to you. I'm filling the gap this time.
Davina spent most of this time talking to herself, mooching from people, making snow angels (she has a unique approach to this, but unfortunately I didn't have presence of mind to snap a picture), and shamelessly chasing after Grumpo West-Marks.
Here they are at one of the cafes in town. Davina has been wanting to flirt with him and kiss him, so she gave it a try.
Apparently, he wasn't in the mood for it.
However, he felt bad about his reaction, and a few minutes later came back out and offered her some flowers in way of apology.
They spent a pleasant enough few hours together at the cafe before I sent Davina home and gave Grumpo a makeover.
The next day, Davina wanted to improve her athletic skills, so I sent her to the Bernie Butler Memorial Gym on the beach to work out. Guess who also showed up? Grumpo!
Davina and Grumpo got a little flirty, and Grumpo's wife May spotted them. She wasn't happy about it. She stomped off and went to the dance studio and used the mirror to practice her response to the situation before going back to confront her husband and his hussy.
She told Grumpo to stop flirting with other women, or she would lock him out of the house and leave him in the cold. This didn't go down well.
You would think Davina would choose now to make herself scarce, but Davina has no filter and knows no boundaries.
She seems to think she stands a chance with the guy, but I have my doubts. At this points Grumpo wisely decided to make himself scarce and let the women settle their differences.
May told Davina she was being childish if she thought she could steal Grumpo way from her.
"Stop treating me like garbage!" Davina shouted. "He came on to me! I just came here to use the jogging track! It's not my fault your man has a wandering eye!"
Meanwhile, Ronda completed her classes, made an army of snowmen and roasted some marshmallows.
She was still hungry, however, and she spotted a snowman gnome on the lot.
She sold it and took herself out to the bistro for a fancy dinner. On the way out, she nearly ran into Jolene who was sitting outside thoroughly absorbed in a book.
She toyed with the idea of showing herself and assuring Jolene that she was alive and well . . . .
. . . but according to the previous episode, the search team has not yet seen Ronda. It also occurred to me that Ronda might not recognize Jolene as she lives in a different town and is considerably older than Ronda. She might have seen Jolene around Sagehen Mesa when Jolene came back for her parents' funerals, but a teenage mind might not have registered her, and Jolene would be out of context here in Roaring Heights. So I figured there would have been no reason for Ronda to approach Jolene, and Jolene never looked up from her book, so might not have noticed Ronda in the distance.
I also dropped in on Carmen and his girlfriend Angie and had them indulge in some risky woohoo, because Ronda finding out he has a girlfriend would be bad, but finding out he has a pregnant girlfriend would really add to the drama.
So instead of approaching Jolene, Ronda decided to stop by the gym on her way home and take a shower. Unfortunately, she was caught by the police for breaking curfew!
Ronda explained to the cop that she was in town checking up on her indigent grandmother to make sure she was alright and try to find some resources to help her get off the street. Davina wasn't home when Ronda was dropped off, so she didn't get grounded or anything.
I'm thinking the search team will get wind of the police picking up a teen fitting Ronda's description and will go to the storage container to see if they can find her.
