North Winds Reboot - Part 19 - The Art Gallery, the Grill-a-thon, and the Wedding
It has now been 29 days since the family has landed in Pounawea. The family split up, and each member is now living in a different house.
Angelo moved in with Demario's ex-wife Josephine, . . .
Rosamel invited Josphine's ex-husband Demario to move in with her . . .
and Calvin stayed in the original house and adopted a little puppy named Snaggles.
Calvin and I have been working on his gallery, trying to see the best way for him to make some money. It turns out the paintings he produces can't be purchased through the Savvy Seller system, and I didn't want to use the Business and Usual system, because I don't want all the paintings to disappear once sold, leaving him with a gallery he can't keep stocked. So I went with the ticket system. I placed a ticket machine on the lot, and those visiting the lot pay a fee to view the gallery.
This frees him up to meet and greet and do some schmoozing.
Calvin has been keeping himself busy in other ways as well. He recently took part in a grill-a-thon. This event took place at a fast-food restaurant, and the ventilation was horrific!
Meanwhile, Rosamel and Angelo met up for lunch. (The bartender had a horrible dye job, so I helped her out.)
Rosamel has a good relationship with both her father and her grandfather; however, Calvin and Angelo strongly dislike each other. Old wounds I guess. Now on to the big event.
When we left off the last episode, Rosamel had just given birth to twin girls, Ember and Ella.
They have since grown into toddlers.
Demario decided it was high time to make an honest woman of Rosamel.
Of course, being the wild girl she is, Rosamel HAD to have a bachelorette party. She decided to hold it out at the 9th Hole Bar. Fun was had by all.
She invited her loyal fans, the Gooch family, but she was surprised that Alvaro Gooch showed up. Didn't he know this was a ladies only event?
"You aren't the male dancer, are you, Alvaro?"
"Oh, no, I just came so I could spend the evening dancing with my wife Caroline. We seldom get out much anymore."
"By the way, I have a great dinner suggestion for your wedding. Have you considered peanut butter and banana sandwiches? They're my favorite."
"Well, . . . I'm sure they're very good, but I've ready arranged for sushi to be served as the main course. Thanks for the suggestion though."
"Here, have some champagne."
Alvaro was true to his word. He spend most of the night dancing with his wife, and the male dancer showed up to put on a show.
Rosamel was stoked.
Alvaro took a break from dancing with his wife to have a dance-off with the party dancer.
Before the night was over, I think just about everyone had a turn dancing on the counters.
They managed to out party the party girl!
I left Demario to take care of the kids so Rosamel could enjoy her night out with the girls, but I got a notification saying they needed a babysitter. I went to find him. He was at the dance club where the wedding was going to be held. He had a drink and a soak in the hot tub.
At least he wasn't out with another woman.
It took me three tries to have the wedding. It's my fault because I didn't double check the feasibility of the venue. The first time, I got everyone there and realized there wasn't a table for the wedding cake. The second time there was a routing issue due to the two wedding arches that were merged together. It looked nice, but Demario couldn't use it and stomped his feet. Finally, the following day after fixing the arch and re-arranging some chairs, the wedding finally happened! However, I was recording it for a comparison video - weddings in Sims 3 and in InZoi - and forgot to take pictures of the actual ceremony. But I did capture the cake cutting.
The couple even chose to sit with each other to eat their cake!
I had Rosamel serve the buffet, which consisted of autumn salad, sushi, and pumpkin pie. Weird combo, but it's her party, I guess.
The babies started getting fussy, so I sent everyone home right as the party ended. Then I went to check on Angelo and Josephine. Angelo was home reading a book. Josephine was playing with a doll house at the consignment store. She's gone a little loopy lately.
Maybe she was fired for showing up late the first day and wearing inappropriate accessories. She's taken to wearing this "Batgirl" mask every time I see her, and I have no idea where she got it.
Guess who she ran into the night of Rosamel and Demario's wedding? Demario! This is his wedding night, so why isn't he home with his wife?
"Hey, babe. I would have invited you to the wedding, but I know you and Rosamel don't get along at all. Would you watch the stars with me one last time?
I don't know if this bodes well for his marriage to Rosamel. He made these choices, not me.
