Sagehen Mesa - Season 3, Episode 13 - My Family: an Essay by Magdalena Roland

 So, my teacher gave us an assignment to write an essay about our family including our grandparents, parents, and us. Boy is he in for a treat!

One of my granmas was named Hilry Roland. Granma Hilry died last winter. She liked to grow fruits and vegtibles in her green house and ocherd. My aunt Jolene came out with my Uncle Alden and cousin Sammy to stay with Grandpa Roobin so he wouldn't be so sad and alone. When spring came, they moved back to Sunset Valley. 

Then my mom said she had enuff of my dads atitood and left him! They never got married, so I am basterd. The last time they tried to get along, they went on a date to the rodio gronds. Mom was having a lot of fun riding the bull and did really good! 

But Dad just rooined it for her by making fun of the fact that she's skard of water. 

He really hurt Moms feelings. So she called him a monster . . ., 

. . . and slapped him . . ., 

 . . . and told him she did not want to live with him no more!

Then she went to see Granpa Roobin who was still sad because Granma Hilry was dead, so he said that Mom and me and our dog could come and live with him. 

Dad left Mom a text asking if she was reddy to come home, but she said NO!

I kinda like living here at Granpa's house. He has horses and dogs, and there are some kids my age who live next door. 

There dad is a friend of Granpa Roobin. There dad is a cheek pincher, so you have to watch out for him!

There mom likes to take picturs, and I herd she yoos to date my other Granpa named Cliff. I never met him til a few days ago. Mom says hes hiding out. I wonder who hes hiding from. 

Not long after we moved in with Granpa Roobin, he died. It was really sad.

He died in the barn when I was at school and Mom was at work. Only the horses and dogs saw him die.

I bet the animals were freeked out! 

Mom told me Granpa had died when I got home. 

I was really mad and sad, and Mom had to com me down. 

That night Aunt Jolene and Uncle Alden, and baby Sammy came back for the funral. They are staying with us for awhile. 

The next day I stayed after school to get some extra help because I am a little behind in my reading and math. Mom still reads me baby books like "Counting for Those Who Cannot."

Ronda Colpeper said she was sorry to here about my Granpa dieing. She is nice, but her older sister Dara is not! She got in a fite with my mom when we were still living with my dad. Mom was sorry she ever invited her to the party!

There was a mix up on who would pick me up from school that nite. Both Dad and Moms new boyfriend Hunter showed up to get me. 

Moms ben going out with Hunter Dill for a little while now. I wonder if he will be my new dad someday.

My reel dad introduced me to my Granpa Cliff. Hunter did not think that was a good idea. 

I asked Granpa Cliff why he wore a mask, and he said he is so handsome that all the wimen chase him around and try to kiss him, so he has to wer a diskize. He is so funny! He said he has a secrit casel where he is the king.

"Does this mean I'm a princess?" I askt.

"It sure does darlin" he said. 

I hope I get to see his secrit casel someday. 

We went to Granpa Roobins funral and that cheek pincher guy did the talking.

Aunt Jolene tried inviting Dad to the funral, but he said it was probly better if he did not come. 

Uncle Alden played the piano at the funral. He is really good at it!

We had pumkin pie after the funral. 

My hand's starting to hurt from all this writing, and I still haven't written about Granma Tess and Uncle Clansee yet. I do not know Granma Tess very well, so maybe I will skip her. I don't know Uncle Clancee very well either, but I guess he was my Aunt Jolenes high school swethart before she met Uncle Alden. 

Uncle  Alden said he met Uncle Clancee at the store and he was a nice enuff guy.
