Sagehen Mesa - Season 3, Episode 5 - Ronda's Life

 Hi, I'm Ronda Culpepper, and I'm 9 years old. 

My Dad's a garbage man. It's an important job. He helps protect the environment. I like to fish and play outside, so he's my hero. I like animals too. Grandpa died, but his dog lives with us. His name is Wally. He's really cool. I also like horses. There are some horses that hang out by the pond behind our old house across the street. I like to go there in the evenings and watch them. One day I saw a unicorn! 

I named him Chardonnay like Mommy's favorite drink. I hope Chardonnay and me can become good friends. Boy was Dara mad when I told her I saw a unicorn! 

"You shouldn't be going to the fishing pond by yourself at night!" she fumed. But I don't think she was really worried about my safety. I think she was just jealous because I saw a unicorn and she didn't!

School is usually okay, but yesterday we had mean ol' Miss Leona as a substitute, and she made me stay after school and do my assignment all over again. I hate her!

This weekend I went over to visit Miss Josie. She was my Grandpa's girlfriend before he died, so I guess she's kind of like a Grandma since she and Grandpa were gonna get married. She has a nice garden.

She's really nice. She baked cookies while I was there. 

She likes to go fishing, just like me. She said she once caught a jellyfish out of the ocean. She has a really fancy car called a convertible because you can drive around without a roof on it. 

She has a big orange cat named Corwin. He's pretty cool. I wonder if it costs a lot to have a cat. 

Miss Josie is very old, so I worry that she will die soon like Grandpa did. 

It's getting dark, so I'd better go home. My parents will be looking for me.
