Sagehen Mesa - Season 2, Episode 12 - Jolene Returns to School
It seems a lot of major life events happened even in the short time I was home. Chuck Culpepper passed away, leaving his wife Kellee a widow. I attended the funeral and gave my condolences.
We talked about the upcoming music festival as Kellee said she and Chuck were really looking forward to it. We also talked about fishing, which was Chuck's hobby of choice.
I asked about the old fishing hole and asked what was going to happen with it now that the old shed has been torn down.
Kellee said Chuck's nephew Paul had purchased the land from the previous owner, and he and his wife and daughters were going to live on the property, so they could be close to Ben if he needed anything. They should be arriving in a few weeks, I guess. I'll be back at school by then though.
In other news, Rae and Clancy tied the knot. I didn't go to the wedding. No one did. Clancy's pretty weird about crowds, especially if he's the center of attention, so they had a quiet, private wedding at the church.
I met up with Rae on one of the last days I was home, and she caught me up on the crime situation.
She said she had a burglar actually try to break into her house, but she took care of the situation.
She also said that Cliff Mahon is still at large, but had attacked Josie Toledo (I guess she's back to Williams now, since she and her husband got a divorce.) Rae reports that she interviewed everyone at the scene, but none could provide any details of value to help locate where Cliff is hiding out.
Cliff is frequently seen around town, but he's a slippery son-of-a-gun.
I guess most reports occur around the bookstore. Who'd have thought he was such a bibliophile. I should have helped Rae out by staking out the place, I guess, but I got one case while I was home, and it was Mr. Whiting wanting me to investigate his neighbor Mr. Toledo because he thought there was something fishy about him. I went through the guy's trash and his mailbox, but everything looked legit.
Josie caught me in the act, so I had to pretend I was expecting a very important letter from college and wondered if it was put in her mailbox by mistake.
Mr. Toledo caught me going through the trash, but never bothered to ask me what I was doing. He doesn't know me, so maybe he thought I was some sort of drifter looking for anything I could sell or eat. Anyway, Mr. Whiting was disappointed that I didn't find any dirt on Mr. Toledo, but he paid me anyway.
I'm feeling a bit left out, and am looking forward to going back to school where everyone is single and out for a good time.
The last night I was home, I went out with Kathy and Dad and showed them my newly honed pool skills, then it was back to school for me!
I'm afraid I hurt her feelings, but for crying out loud! Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?
Hanna is always dressed to the nines, and when she's not up on her soapbox hollerin' through that megaphone about this cause or that one, she's sneaking up behind people and scaring them.
Then there's Shannon. I guess her time of the month makes her into a monster in her own right, but for the most part she's okay. She's been trying to get with my friend Darryl, but he's not interested in her. I feel a little bad for her.
My school workload will be lighter this semester as I only have one class to go to get my degree, so I might get a part-time job or something. Or I might just party and hang out with my boyfriend. We'll see.

I guess Ben Culpepper was dating Mrs. Baum, the woman whose husband ran off to avoid prosecution.
However, he dumped her as soon as he learned that Josie and Mr. Toledo were getting a divorce. That was a narrow escape if you ask me.
Hector became a father while I was here. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a holding pattern while everyone else is advancing in their lives and becoming adults.

With my roommate moving out and things with Alden still being a little iffy, I decided to move into the sorority house where my best friend Ashley lives. Ashley likes it there, so I think I will too.
Living with a bunch of girls means there are some I'm going to like more than others. For instance, Ye and I aren't the best of friends. Mostly because I told her that her thirst for blood was gross and creepy.
I'm afraid I hurt her feelings, but for crying out loud! Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?
