North Winds Reboot - Part 12 - The Drama Going on Behind My Back

The cursed family of the North Winds Legacy is clinging tenaciously to the little town of Lin Meadows. It's now day 45 of their stay, and it just might break Twinbrook's record of 54 days.

The good news is that Angelo has become the family's first college graduate, earning a degree in business after switching his major from science to business after his first semester; little Rosamel isn't so little anymore, and boy howdy have the neighbors turned out to be an interesting and scandalous lot!

We'll start with a look at a few of the families in this town.

The warped Lemons tree

There is an elderly woman named Andrea Lemons-Bradley. She is married to an elderly man named JC Bradley, and they have a girl, now a teen, named Shavon. When Shavon and Rosamel were still children, they were friends, and Rosamel went over to Shavon's house to play.

There were other children of Andrea's also in this house, presumably by a previous marriage to a young man named Ezra Lemons. These children were older - teens I think, at the time this screenshot was taken. These kids' names are Elisio, Marcie, and Vance.

It all seems kind of par for the course until I examined Andrea's family tree and relationships panel. I would assume Andrea and Ezra were either divorced or Ezra died when the couple was younger, leaving Andrea to raise three children on her own. BUT HE DIDN'T DIE AND THEY DIDN'T DIVORCE! In fact, Ezra is alive and well and he and Andrea are still married.  Andrea is also married to JC. In other words, she's a bigamist!

To be fair, I don't think Andrea knows she's committing bigamy. I think she honestly believes Ezra died an untimely death. Lost at sea maybe? Took a camping trip and had an accident or was eaten by a bear perhaps? Went down in a plane crash? Who knows? What I DO know is he's showing up alive and well in the relationship panel but his profile picture is shaded like you would see if someone the sim knew lived in another town. Did Ezra fake his own death? Is he off sipping umbrella drinks on a tropical beach? Andrea appears to love Ezra slightly more than she loves JC, but she loves them both.

The Lemons-Bradley / Baugh-Jam web

Lets move on to Elisio, son of Ezra and Andrea. Elisio is a baby-daddy with two children from a girlfriend named Alexandra Baugh-Jam. The thing is they are identified in each other's relationship panel as being boyfriend and girlfriend - not ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend - but they hate each other! (Or more accurately, they deeply dislike each other, with the dislike bar filled completely up, but they don't have the stabby-stabby/enemy knife icon.) I'm not sure why they dislike each other, but I figured Alexandra is better off living in her mother's and step-father's house, so I built on and made sure she had enough cribs for little Demetrius and little Johnnie.

Here are some of the family members from the Baugh-Jam tribe. Alexandra is in the yellow top, her brother (I think) is next to her, and the lady with the big hair is Alexandra's mother Ebony. The old woman is Abigail, my heir Rosamel's mother, who just aged up to elder while at the Baugh-Jam's party. Later I let her dye her hair back to blonde because she is a stylist after all.

I don't know why Alexandra dislikes baby-daddy Elisio so much, but she isn't too fond of her step father either - and I can guess why. He step-father Zachery came to Abigail for a makeover fairly recently.

He was quite impressed with his new look, and from that day forward Abigail had a desire to kiss him.

I thought for sure she's get him cornered at the Spooky Day costume party she threw, where he came dressed as a cop. He stayed way past the party, but other events got in the way of Abigail's goals. (More about that later.) Finally, one day he asked her out - to the cemetery of all places.

He had a wedding on his mind, but I don't think it was in regard to Abigail - I think he had just recently married Ebony. Maybe he was having second thoughts. He quickly yielded to Abigail's advances.

They even had the audacity to woohoo in the mausoleum.

This seemed to be a one-time thing, and I kept getting notices of Zachery and Ebony being all lovey-dovey around town, but if word got back to Alexandra regarding this tryst, I can see why she dislikes her step-father.

But wait, there's more. Alexandra Baugh-Jam's baby-daddy, Elisio Lemons-Bradley, has a sister, Marcie, who like Alexandra, has two illegitimate children (one of the two isn't born yet) by a guy who is her boyfriend but doesn't seem in a hurry to make an honest woman of her. His name is Kenton Baugh-Jam whom I think is Alexandra's brother. (What a soap opera!)

Two Sparrows in a Hurricane

I vaguely remember moving Kenton out of his childhood home to a trailer house when he became a young adult. He's still at the trailer house. He seems fastidious in making his bed, but the rest of his house is a disaster! He's got piles of garbage scattered all over the yard, the filthiest toilet I've ever laid eyes on, dirty dishes, and clothes scattered willy-nilly on the living room floor.

I figured this man-child needed to grow up and take responsibility, so I moved Marcie and her child Keely in with him, took away his computer and desk (no more video games for you!) and made room for two cribs. Later I saw Marcie walking down the street around 10:24 pm one cold winter's night, on her way to visit one of the Handyman households.

When she got there, she plopped little Keely down in the snow, left her, and went inside.

It's a wonder someone didn't report Marcie to the authorities! Several had the opportunity to do so.  They just walked right past little Keely sitting chest-deep in the snow. I guess people mind their own business around here.

Maybe Marcie needs to take care of cleaning the house and Kenton needs to take care of the kids.

The Funny-looking Handyman Family

I think the Handyman family Marcie went to visit was the "pretty" Handyman family as opposed to the "funny-looking" Handyman family.

The patriarch of the "funny-looking" Handyman family is Melvin, and boy are his genes strong!

You can definitely tell which kids in town are Melvin's. Here's his son . . .

And here's his daughter as a toddler.

When she aged up, I tried to find her a hairstyle that would help her blend in better.

NOPE!

NOPE!

Better, but I hate this hairdo. It makes the sims head look like a bowling ball.

Here we go. The girl definitely needs bangs.

Now maybe she won't be made fun of at school. They'll probably pick on the vampire kid instead - if they dare. The guy in the red coat is Daniel Handyman of the "pretty" Handyman family. He's a friend of Rosamel's.

Speaking of Rosamel, it's time to catch up on what the cursed family is up to. Unfortunately, this particular post is no longer allowing me to add screenshots. I'll start another focusing on the family.
