Lunastia - Part 8

It's been quite awhile since I visited the colonists on Lunastia, so I took a quick census to reacquaint myself with the families. Many of the adults were a day away from being elders, so I'm describing them as elders below.

KAUKER:

Julius Kauker: elder and city hall council member

Precious (Shaw) Kauker: FOUNDER, elder, and the planet's nectar maker

Tamsen Kauker: daughter of Julius and Precious - aged up to child during my visit and is brave, excitable, and a kleptomaniac.

(Yeah, I'm not so sold on her being excitable as this was her on her birthday.)

They also have a cat named Socks Shaw.

DECKER:

Westley Decker: FOUNDER, elder and lyricist.

Traci Decker: FOUNDER, elder and ballot counter.

Curtis Decker: son of Westley and Traci, young adult/adult and music fan

For some reason Precious was not happy about Julius inviting him over to their house. Maybe it's because the Deckers are the richest family on the planet, and the Kaukers are still struggling to afford to furnish their own home.

Rachel (Underwood-Kemp) Decker: wife of Curtis and daughter of the poorest family on the planet, law enforcement desk jockey.

Celina Decker: teen, daughter of Westley and Traci

Adrianne Decker: teen, daughter of Westley and Traci, twin to Celina

ESQUIVEL:

Don Esquivel: elder, campaign intern.

Cynthia Esquivel: elder, retired.

They have a dog named Rusty

O'HARA

Brittany O'Hara: adult, was a nectar register clerk, but she was assigned Precious' former home and got romantically involved with Guadalupe Underwood-Kemp, so she's included here.

UNDERWOOD-KEMP

Brandon Underwood-Kemp: FOUNDER, elder, crime scene technician

Camille Underwood-Kemp: FOUNDER, elder, and collector.

Guadalupe Underwood - Kemp: son of Brandon and Camille, boyfriend-turned-husband to Brittany O'hara. (He moved in with her after they married.)

** Rachel Decker, mentioned earlier is the daughter of Brandon and Camille as well.

HOGUE

Kendrick Hogue: FOUNDER, elder, and town pariah. He's never found a mate because no one on the planet will put up with him for any length of time. His "job" is playing chess. (Pawn level) Let's just say he's retired.

He has a dog named Lulu.

WILLIS

Stephen Willis: FOUNDER, elder, and bar owner. Technically his "job" is also playing chess, but unlike Kendrick, he owns his own business and is more advanced in chess than Kendrick (Bishop level.)

Sheena Willis: FOUNDER, elder, sculptor.

Ben Willis: son of Stephen and Sheena, teen - turned young adult. Married Susie McMillan

Briggs Willis: son of Stephen and Sheena, now a child.

ARMSTEAD

Moses Armstead: FOUNDER, elder, wire-tap reader for law enforcement.

Jaimey McMillan: FOUNDER, elder, fertilizer analyst for science center.

Susie (McMillan) Willis: daughter of Moses and Jaimey, wife of Ben Willis, new mother of baby Octavio. Last seen leaving the nectary to go have her baby.

Because the next generation is pairing up and reproducing, I needed to add some additional housing. I built these two abodes. Ben, Susie, and baby Octavio live in the one on the right (if I remember correctly.)

The Armstead household also has a cat named Twink, who is a mate to Precious' cat Socks.

The planet also has one Simbot, who lives alone at the moment. His name is CLYDE. He can't get a job yet because he doesn't have the trait chip that will enable him to do that. But his creator Ahmad Ring is working on it.

RING:

Ahmad Ring: FOUNDER, elder, and at the time of the census, was a paint splasher. I changed his job to self-employed bot builder, because it clearly suited him more.

Cori Ring: FOUNDER, elder, squad leader in the military.

(Here's Ahmad and Cori on their joint elder birthday. They were celebrating at Stephen's bar.)

Skylar Ring: son of Ahmad and Cori, young adult, latrine cleaner in the military

Elise Ring: daughter of Ahmad and Cori, young adult, was abysmal diver when the census was taken, but as there's no dive lots on this planet, I changed her to the first career she had a wish to join: law enforcement.

Marc Ring: teen-turned-young adult, paint splasher.

The Ring family has a small house and four dogs: Ginger - mated with Rusty Esquivel and they had the following pups:

Leroy (who mated with Lulu Hogue,) Wang, and Roxy.

I divided my time between the Ring household and the Kauker household - the Ring household because it seemed the most chaotic and had two young adult children who needed to get out on their own, and Kauker because I wanted Precious to master the nectar career and achieve her lifetime wish of having at least 50 bottles of nectar in her home cellar and having her nectar collection be worth 10,000 simoleons. I don't know if we'll achieve this as Precious isn't getting any younger.

But first the Rings.

Ahmad has been working fairly diligently on creating nanites and trait chips, but so far hasn't discovered the one that would enable CLYDE to get a job. It would also be nice if Ahmad could create a mate for CLYDE, but maybe that's something CLYDE could do on his own.

On Love Day I sent Skylar and Elise out to meet some other single sims. Skylar met Jeanine Babb while out walking one of the dogs. They really hit it off.

Elise wasn't quite as successful. She took a liking to the grocery store clerk Gustavo Hewitt, and it seemed like they made a connection.

They grouped up and were on a date, but he still needed to work, so the date was on the lot. Luckily it was on the mall lot, so there was plenty they could do if they wanted. While Gustavo tended the register, Elise tried to impress him with her cooking skills.

She burned the food on her first attempt but tried again. When she got something presentable, she called him over to sample it. They seemed to get along pretty well, so Elise tried kissing him.

Unfortunately, Gustavo wasn't on board with moving so fast.

Elise was so embarrassed they ended the date, and she went to paint. I think she wishes an interplanetary craft would just swoop in and take her away.

Her brother Skylar was doing better. He asked Jeanine out, and they had a good time.

They became good friends, and when he bought his house, he invited her to move in with him.

Jeanine is a perfectionist, family oriented, neat, frugal, and grumpy. She likes the color orange, beach music, and fish & chips. She also seems to be pretty fond of birds. Maybe she should get one.

She didn't have the option to befriend this Sixam - just to watch it.

Jeanine also seems to like martial arts. I think she earned a skill point for it from eating from the tree of prosperity. She had no skills when she joined the household, so I sent her to the mall/dome to acquire some. In addition to the martial arts skill, I think she also acquired the logic skill.

Jeanine wants someone to spar with, so she was asking around. She asked the crystal plant if it had heard of or seen anyone else interested in martial arts. This plant was somewhat rude and seemed to be willing to fight her.

Luckily this plant's neighbor was more cooperative.

It suggested she approach her roommate's sister Elise, as she had been seen sporting a martial arts gi.

Meanwhile, it seems Elise is cutting her losses with Gustavo and has set her sights on one of the restaurant's waiters. I don't remember his name, but for an NPC, he seems pretty ambitious.

The waitstaff usually just walk around, bow, and bring food to customers who order it. But it looks like this guy has aspirations to become a chef - maybe even own his own restaurant.

I left the Ring family and went to check on the Kauker family. Mostly I sent Precious to the nectary to harvest grapes and other fruit and make nectar. It was a bit of a grind, but I let her take brakes to sample the nectar on offer because I get a kick out of watching her gargle it.

It looked like Julius needed to get some campaign donations for his job, so I had him invite Curtis Decker over to ask him if his family might be interested in donating since they are the richest family on the planet.

"As a city council member, I am seeking election for Mayor. If I become Mayor, I would like to bring a public swimming pool to the town, and a nice wedding venue to better celebrate the unions of the younger generation."

"In order to do so, I need funding from some of our most successful and influential families in Lunastia. You have the ear of your father; could you bring the matter up to him? I'd do it myself, but you know I invited him over to discuss it, and he was simply too busy to come."

"I'll have to give it some consideration. I'm not sure I have the influence with Dad that you think I have."

"Your father is such a talented musician and one of Lunastia's cultural treasures. He gives so much of his time entertaining the community. Surely he would like he help the community in other ways as well."

I don't remember if Julius succeeded in getting his campaign contribution, but I guess it doesn't matter, because a couple days later . . .

as he was leaving work, he up and died.

The first Lunastia human has passed away.

Both Precious and Tamsen were torn up over the loss of Julius, but Precious recovered and was ready to move on more quickly that Tamsen.

Brandon's presence and flirtations with Precious were clearly upsetting Tamsen.

"Go away! You're not my daddy!" she cried.

Brandon thought it best to spark Precious out of view of the child, so he and Precious continued their wooing outside. WHERE'S YOUR WIFE, BRANDON?

The loss of her father might have been the start of Tamsen's proclivity to steal. Her first "score" was a painting she took from a easel at the Willis house when she went home with Briggs after school.

As for Precious, she began attending parties. She went to Kendrick Hogue's party. The only other person who showed up was Curtis Decker. Kendrick harassed him with a cane, made his guests and autumn salad, then stumbled off to bed, leaving them to entertain each other.
