Life in the Bayou- Part 8: Constance Lands Her Prince Charming

A couple of episodes ago, Constance Benoit was wanting to move out of her parents' house and into a fancy high-rise apartment. She met a single man who happened to live in such a place. His name was Ashley Bender, and he was clearly interested in her, arriving on her parents' doorstep hoping to ask her out to a show.

At the time, Constance was recently divorced and told Ashely she didn't know if she ever wanted to get married again.

But time has passed. Her children have grown into teens, and Ashley still seems to be carrying a torch for her. He asked her to visit him at his apartment, and she was very impressed with the set-up.

"Wow! You have access to a gym, sauna, and hot tub?!? This place must cost a fortune! You must be comfortably well-off. I bet you drive a really nice car too."

"So, how did you accumulate wealth?" she inquired.

"Oh, you know, I'm a partner in the Little Corsican Bistro, which gives my income a boost."

Note: I was sure Ashely was a stylist because he's aways at the salon giving people makeovers and even advised Stephen McClain that if he joined the career it was bad form to make clients look like clowns.

Ashley is in a career crisis, torn between his lifetime wish to be a 5 star chef and his enjoyment of styling others. He wants to join the stylist career, but then he won't accomplish his lifetime wish. Most of my sims don't accomplish lifetime wishes anyway because I switch households too frequently. I'm not an achievement style player. So maybe I ought to just let him be stylist and remain a partner in the bistro.

"I bet you also have a really nice television in your apartment."
"Yes, it's pretty nice. Maybe we'll head up there in a little bit."

She seems to be interested in having another kid.

So does he.

"You know I adore you, Constance. How about we make this relationship exclusive?"
(She agreed.)

Then they has some late-night skinny dipping, . . .

. . .  a late dinner, . . .

 . . . and some risky woohoo.

Constance stayed until the following morning. They made plans to meet at the theater the next day.

It appears that Constance came over right after work, not stopping to change out of her work clothes.

"Constance, we both seem to be on the same page. I want to have a child, and you would like to add to your family. We get along great, and you know I love you. Neither of us are getting any younger, and I just don't see any point in waiting."

"Will you marry me tonight? I know it's impetuous, but we only live once!"

I'm sure if Constance knew this was going to happen, she would have gussied up a bit before meeting him. Oh well.

Luckily, the apartment has enough bedrooms that both teens can have their own rooms, but Caleb doesn't seem too keen on moving in with Ashley. He told his mom in no uncertain terms a few days later that he thought she had been rash and irresponsible to up and elope with the guy.

I think he's missing his grandpa's dog Boot, because he has a want to hug him. Violet seems to have adjusted to the sudden change in living arrangement better.

It seems that a lot of the mixologists live in Ashley's apartment building. Here they are all heading off to work.

Meanwhile, back at Creole Acres,  . . .

Chrissy, former magician turned singer, and Scott, the mad scientist, are growing closer than ever.

Marie seems to be enjoying life on the farm. And Chrissy has a hankerin' to get a tattoo.

I think she plans to get some food afterward.

While I was there, I noticed Ashely giving Leslie Briscoe a makeover.

It appears she was in a gloomy mood and wanting something to lift her spirits.

Bart, the husband of Leslie's landlord, had to put his two cents in. There might be something fishy going on between Leslie and Bart. Leslie is supposed to be with Stephen McClain, the werewolf, and Bart is married to Lorena Burroughs, the influencer, (he even took her last name when they married), but I spot him and Leslie around town together often flirting.

And neither of their significant others are in sight! In this most recent instance, it seem Leslie is trying to break the tension by initiating a water balloon fight.

Anyway, Ashley gave Leslie a makeover . . .

I don't think it was quite the vibe she was going for. She prefers a more edgy look.

It looks like Bart is headed for the hot tub.

Before we leave, let's meet one of the more recent residents. Star Crowder is recently retired and has decided to downsize and move to Bayou Bijou. She purchased this modest but nice trailer home with a screened in porch for her little cat Boo.

Star would like to spend her retirement learning new things. She is a bookworm, a perfectionist, a cat person, dislikes children, and is a supernatural fan. She likes taking classes, spending time at the library, and playing with her cat.  When she first moved in, she was unaware that her next-door neighbor is a werewolf who is friends with a vampire, so she will have her chance to hang out with supernaturals. (She also had a late night visit by an alien. Here's a rare shot of three supernaturals in one shot, none of which I'm playing at the moment.)

One of Star's first acquaintances was Louis Umbriel whom she met online by chatting to someone.
A few days later, she went to call on her closest neighbor and introduce herself.

She and Stephen autonomously hit it off.

She wanted to take a painting class, so I sent her there to do that, then hang out in the annex to meet some more people.

Old Ezekial Benoit was up on his soapbox complaining about all the nerdy people sitting inside on a beautiful day with their noses in books when they should be out in nature, hiking or fishing.

He seemed pretty passionate about it.

Star met Ishamael Deemon, now an elder, and Kahlilah Reinhart. They enjoyed a game of dominos together.

That's if for now . . . more to come.
