North Winds Reboot - Part 6 - Strangetown Chicks Dig Calvin!

The guys are fast approaching day 10 in Strangetown. Here's what has happened so far. The first objective is to become familiar with one's surroundings. As shown in the last episode, Angelo had his first day of school and made friends with Johnny Smith. Maxwell went to the gym and met Circe Beaker.

The following day, Maxwell went to the store to stock up on supplies. There he met Mendi Lai and Latosha Glencara.

I can't tell who this one is with her work uniform on, but she's welcoming Maxwell to the neighborhood.

This one is Latosha Glencara who happened to live next door to the family. She's kind of a mean girl. She moved shortly thereafter, and the guys haven't met the new neighbors yet. What Maxwell learned about Latosha, other than the fact that she is a mean girl, is she has a big ol' dog.

I didn't want Calvin to have to sleep in the tent forever, so I expanded the house, adding an additional bedroom, bathroom and balcony on the upper level.

I gave this room to Maxwell. Calvin has been constantly autonomously sketching, and I had to sort through his inventory picking the best ones for the wall and selling the others. I like to think the woman in the picture on the left is Polly, the founder of this legacy.

Calvin, a professional fisherman, has been checking out all the local fishing spots. This is him on day 4. After fishing for several hours, he went to the park to meet some people.

Dusty Hogg works at one of the local eating establishments. He and Calvin became fast friends.

He also cooked up some hot dogs, which were quickly devoured by the park's visitors.

Angelo signed up for entomology club at school and came home with some bugs that he keeps in his room in cages.

On day 5, Calvin and Dusty grouped up and went to the library and to the Night Owl Saloon afterwards.

There are some who are fashion challenged in this town as in other towns, but for some reason, it doesn't bother me as much here in Strangetown.

Calvin had a few drinks then busted out some moves with Elisa Cuervo.

I'll have to remember to have Calvin and Dusty hang out again some time.

Day 6 was a Friday. Angelo wanted to become friends with Ripp Grunt and invited him out to what appears to be an abandoned gas station. Ripp didn't show up, so Angelo did some dumpster diving and went home. Then I went back and converted the lonely old gas station into a rebel hangout with a retro diner in the front and a garage hangout in the back.

I went back and added a pinball machine to the diner after taking this screenshot. This place is pretty lively.

This couple above is the Cuervos. They hang out here all the time. (They are standing where I placed the pinball machine.)

I had the fix-up car in the garage, but this big lemon parked on top of it. I had to delete the car and the parking space to give the sims access to the car.

On Saturday (day 7), Ripp agreed to meet Angelo out at the gas station. Angelo also invited Johnny Smith out as well.

Maybe I need to get Angelo a Bert & Ernie striped shirt and emo haircut, so he can fit in with the others. It's apparently what all the cool kids from school are wearing.

The fix-up car is very popular - not only for improving skills, but for making out.

Stop hogging the car you two! The teens want to fix it up!

By the time Angelo arrived home that evening, Calvin and Maxwell were ready to check out the casino. It was Saturday night and the night of the full moon, so things were sure to be interesting.

Maxwell had the wish to woohoo during a full moon, so I was thinking he might meet a woman here and they could enjoy the photobooth together. It didn't pan out for him though. I think he learned to never take his handsome grandson as his wingman because all the women were immediately interested in Calvin.

Okay, who brought their child to the gambling establishment?

Marjorie Adam and Calvin were definitely interested in each other. (I was trying to que up Maxwell to introduce himself, but Marjorie made a bee line to Calvin.) 😚😆

Then I tried to get Maxwell to introduce himself to Heidi Qi'Zozivun, but she had already asked Calvin to dance!

In the end, Maxwell settled for drinking and gambling.

"Hello, I'd like to leave a message for the health inspector. I'd like to report some sketchy food-handling here at the Strangetown Casino. Have you paid them a visit lately?"

It looks like this wasn't Tony Valdez's lucky night. Zombie Demario Faust recruited him.

He seems quite please with himself.

All-in-all, it was a pretty wild night.

The next day was Sunday, Day 8. They have had their one week to get accustomed to the place and haven't had to worry about moving, but now I roll each night to see if they need to move.

Today Calvin decided to teach Angelo how to drive.

"Son! The bridge is out!"

"Chill, Dad, I know what I'm doing!"

"We're almost there!"

It's hard to believe Angelo passed his driving test!

After that harrowing experience, Calvin stopped off at the market place where he ran into Marjorie from the night before.

He is clearly attracted to her and has the option to tell anyone he meets all about it. However . . . .

Early the next morning, Calvin got a call from Heidi Qi'Zozivun, the alien woman he met at the casino. She asked him out on a date.

He also seems attracted to her and learned that she is a great kisser.

They couldn't get enough of making out in the car.

The Cuervos seemed a little perturbed that someone else was making use of their make-out spot and sat sullenly in the diner waiting for their turn.

"Aren't you two done yet! The missus and I have that car reserved for 11:30! You've got 5 minutes!"

Although he's no longer a zombie, Tony Valdez can still be a little scary.

Methinks the Cuervos have more than a mere make-out session planned.

Time for round two.

After this, they went to the park and fished a bit, then tried to get into the art museum.

Roslind Handyman was complaining that she couldn't climb the stairs. "I can't view the art!" she whined.

There were some routing issues, but I think I have the problem solved now. I still need to send someone over to playtest it, though.

More to come . . .
