Spooky Day 2024- Concat's Ghoul School Challenge Part 2 - EPIC FAIL!
The unrelenting pestilence has really had an effect of students' ability to accomplish their goals. They can be in the middle of mixing an elixir or watering the plants, and the action gets cancelled by a coughing fit or need to vomit. I try again, and it's cancelled again by the pestilence issues. Even when the students get immunity, it only lasts a day or so, and they still vomit whenever they encounter another sim who has the plague, even if they themselves are immune. I suspect they keep passing the plague back and forth.
Incompetent Headmistress Elora Witchery, the unintentional initiator of the plague when she blasted Rose Valentine with the pestilence curse when Rose mouthed off to her, is desperately trying to fix the problem.
As I mentioned in the previous post, I am unfamiliar with the pestilence curse, so I didn't know it was contagious. The suggestions from the moodlets are trying the cure elixir, eating chili peppers and honey, and getting some sun. At this point, my goal was to get eight bottles of the cure and have all the household members take them at once. It was like herding cats. I don't think they were all immune at the same time.
Then it was probably unwise of me to let them all go out to the Summer Festival together and spread it to the rest of the town.
Poor little Peanut Ivy coughed so hard he grew a couple feet. He couldn't even finish the hot dog eating contest.
Pestilence wasn't the only challenge we experienced at the school. We had a few kitchen fires . . .
. . . and fighting among the students, which caused Headmistress Elora to put them in time-out autonomously.
Angelique was responsible for starting most of the fires and most of the fights. She wasn't very well liked by the other students. She's also the one who got herself abducted by aliens.
Rose never did learn her lesson about mouthing off to Headmistress Witchery. I don't know if it was the headmistress or Alexander who did this to her, but I discovered her in the hall this way.
For the most part however, Rose spent her time in her fairy house trying to get over the plague. The poor thing kept popping out to have one coughing fit after another though. I also tried to get her gardening skills up by tending the plants in the greenhouse, but I don't think she got very far.
Cosmin was jealous of Betty Bloodthirst's immunity and autonomously threatened to exploit her weakness, even though he has the same weakness, being the evil sim he is.
They never became the good friends and possible love interests that I had hoped, but for the most part, they got along okay.
Cosmin managed to unlock the attractive reward and to make some vampire sunscreen which he took with him when he went to visit his parents. He needed to use the sunscreen on an adult vampire, so he used it on his dad.
Cosmin was so exhausted. He just wanted to sleep in his own bed for once. Actually, he wanted to sleep on the alter, but it's behind a secret bookcase door and he apparently doesn't have access to it anymore since he doesn't technically live here.
Some kids go home to get their laundry done. Cosmin comes home to harvest his parent's plants for ingredients to make more cure elixir. Unfortunately, Headmistress Elora must have realized he was missing during bed check, and alerted the authorities. Due to his sleep-deprived state, Cosmin forgot to notify her that he was visiting his parents.
Whether it was for leaving campus without permission or fighting, I don't know, but the headmistress grounded Cosmin. Later, after she saw that her was really trying to improve his grades and failing spectacularly, she showed a little grace and let him off the hook.
The muggle school in the area extended an invitation for the Ghoul School students to attend prom. I think I got all of them to go.
Rose Valentine got Prom Queen, and she and Alexander became a couple by the end of the prom. Cosmin and Angelique hit it off and became love interests, oddly enough.
As for Moses, I think he fell in love with himself.
Cosmin had the warning that he needed to put in some effort before his time at school ended, so he was pouring out the effort. He was supposed to master a musical instrument, logic, and athletics. He also still needed to learn the vampire's bite elixir recipe and create some to use on a random sim. He also needed to get enough happiness points to get the immortal reward. (That one would really be a stretch!)
He managed to get to level 8 in logic, athletics, and the piano, but ultimately fell short. He learned the vampire's bite recipe, but he needs a vampire fish and he doesn't have any fishing skills.
A few days later Cosmin became a young adult.
I figured, to be fair, since Cosmin was already a teen for a while before he started school, he could continue working on his skills until all the others had aged up as well. Cosmin is artistic, evil, eccentric, hates the outdoors, and is a couch potato.
The next one to age up was Rose Valentine.
Rose suddenly became quite fond of fake-passing out.
He is definitely the Don Lothario of the group, always flirting with the ladies, so his lifetime wish was to be a master romancer, having 10 girlfriends.
While this was going on, Headmistress Elora and I were desperately searching for a permanent cure for this plague. Googling it, I found the suggestion of using the sunlight charm. It sounded a lot easier than this frantic making of cure elixirs and firecracker tofu! So she started sun-blasting all students who weren't currently immune - including Cosmin.
Being a vampire, Cosmin suffered some sun damage, but I figured if I kept him indoors or a few days he'd get better. However, he was constantly thirsty, and didn't keep up on his plasma intake. After desperately trying to increase his logic playing chess, I saw he was in the red and sent him immediately to fetch some plasma juice. He put the straw to his lips, but it was just too late!
Headmistress Elora was riddled with guilt.
"I can't believe I accidentally killed a student! Maybe I'm not cut out for this job! What am I going to tell his parents?"
So the challenge is an epic fail on my part, but the saga is far from over. Mistress Elora placed Cosmin's ashes in one of the insect cabinets, so he can haunt the school trying to finish his unfinished business. Once all the students age up and graduate, one of them, probably Betty Bloodthirst, will take the reins of the school and a fresh batch of students will start their educational experiences in Ghoul School. As for Mistress Elora, she might move out to the upper floor of the greenhouse and try her best to right her wrongs by blasting any townsfolk she can find who have the plague with the sun charm.
