Riverview Updated Part 11 - The Funke-Lu Wedding, New Homes for Young Couples.

As mentioned in the previous episode, Clark Crook and Jody Miles got married. From the looks of it, Jody must have received a hefty divorce settlement from her previous husband.

In other news, I was sending Spencer Funke and his fiancé Melissa Lu to the store to buy lottery tickets, concentrating on getting their happiness points up to 30,000, so they could get the inheritance reward, and pushing them at their jobs with the goal of getting them into a larger home before their kids aged up, only to realize that their dog Lulu Lu was being underutilized. She was already trained to hunt and was always underfoot in the tiny house, so I sent her out to hunt from time to time. It really paid off - she brought home not one, but two tiberium gems, which Spencer promptly took to the art studio (where I placed the gem cutter) and cut the tiberium into spires. He not only got spires, but left over gem dust which also grows if you leave it out for awhile. Needless to say Spencer and Melissa are rich! They have several houses they can choose from.

But first things first: the wedding. Melissa, being sentimental, chose to wear the dress belonging to her great, great, great grandmother Florence. She took it to the Riverwalk Boutique for alterations.

The wedding was rather small, at least according to the paper. Family and just a few friends were invited.

I guess they didn't think it was too gross to kiss in front of family, because not only did they kiss during the ceremony as in "you may now kiss the bride," but they autonomously did a dip kiss to boot.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. The wedding was held in the church, and I even remembered the cake this time. However, just before the ceremony was supposed to start, I noticed that the bride was badly in need of a shower and had to send her home to freshen up. Therefore the wedding started a few hours late.

Melissa's family was well-behaved, but the Funke side was not. Crazy Irene, Spencer's sister, showed up in her Daisy Dukes, and insulted and mocked her brother after the ceremony.

As the ceremony was starting, Malik Stockton, Spencer's brother-in-law (married to Spencer's other sister) stood up in the middle of the aisle and expressed his contempt for the mother of the bride, Bree Lu.

(To be fair, if I remember correctly, Bree has a mean streak and probably did something to offend him at an earlier time.)

One cool thing I noticed is that the bride's family sat on one side of the aisle and the groom's on the other. I don't know if this was just a coincidence.

The groom was seriously underdressed as I forgot to check his formal wear, but at least he didn't wear the hotdog suit.

The father of the bride, Cory Lu of the iconic mustache, was in charge of the music.

Melissa thanked him for the music and said she hoped he approved of her choice of husbands.

"Well, even if I didn't, he's the father of two of my grandchildren, so I'd be a fool to say it! I think you chose well, sweetheart."

I was worried that Spencer would disgrace himself while cutting the cake because his bladder was in the red zone, but he managed to tie a knot in it until the cake was served. Crisis averted.

During the reception, Melissa's little brother told her about his plans to go to art school after graduation.

It looks like he has a hater just like his mother does. Why isn't this family liked?

Spencer and Melissa moved their family into this cute Queen Anne style house called Anastasia.

Some rooms are still empty, but here are the interior shots of the rooms they use.

Marcel blowing out his candles in the kitchen.

The back living room, (what we call the "family room" in my part of the country.) It has the TV and a dominos table set up in the back turret area.

Here's the more formal front living room.

The sunroom. Spencer's weight machine is in the back area and I keep the dog toybox here as well.

Melissa's work room. The walls are bare so she can decorate them with her own sketches and paintings.

The nursery. I've since added curtains.

Marcel's room now that he's aged up. He seem to like rabbits a lot, having two in his inventory by the time he aged up, so there are rabbits in the wallpaper and he's got some freezer bunny wall decor. And I've added curtains since this picture was taken.

The master bedroom. I've since added curtains.

With the Funke family settled in, I turned my attention to the Stockton family. Eric and Ada were still living with Eric's parents, and his parents had recently added another baby to the household. Poor baby Rae had her crib in the hallway. Luckily Eric and Ada saved up a lot of money while I was away, and could afford the house across the street from Spencer and Melissa.

This house is called the Kingston.

Eric is a musician, and Ada is in the law enforcement career, but you'd never know it by looking at her. She must be working undercover or something.

Her favorite color is green and Eric's is brown. She's standing in their family room, and the glass doors in the back lead to a music room/library I think of as Eric's "man cave."

Here's the living/dining/kitchen area.

The upstairs is pretty empty except for the master suite, . . .

. . . but that will change soon.

One thing this little neighborhood was missing was a play park for the children, so I added one.

Hunter Stockton even brought baby Rae over to play. (autonomously)

Then he got into a heated argument. (also autonomously)

Since big brother Eric and his wife moved out, Rae finally got her own room. I decided she likes hearts and pandas.

Red is her favorite color.

While I'm checking in on the Stocktons, it seemed only right that I also check of Eric's brother Malik - the one who was making a scene at the wedding earlier - and his family. Carol didn't make it to the wedding. She must not have been feeling well. She soon gave birth to her second child Kimberly. Eugenia, the firstborn, is now a child. They had enough rooms for everyone, but the house wasn't decorated to their own tastes, so I redid the bedrooms.

Eugenia's room. She likes purple and playing the princess.

The nursery. (Baby Kimberly likes the color white. I might have to change the carpeting.

The master bedroom. Malik likes white, and Carol likes purple.

Malik must have had a hard day at work, because I found him meditating. (And I never urged him to reach the level to do this, let alone autonomously! He must really like martial arts and is improving his skills on his own time.)

Now it's time to wait for Eric and Ada's baby to arrive and fix up a nursery for them. Also, there's a chance that Spencer and Melissa will be having another child or two. They risky woohoo'd and Spencer got abducted by aliens.

I'll wrap up this episode with a few more shots of the park (I think I'll have to name it "Friendship Park" just to be ironic.) 😅

And here's a few more day-in-the-life pictures of Spencer and Melissa's family.

For some reason, Spencer had a wish to be mean to this kid. I have no idea why, but when we saw him at the performance park, I allowed him a mean high five.

Date night.

Marcel is kind of a nerdy kid. He's a genius, easily impressed, and unlucky.

Experts in family relationships recommend regularly sitting down to dinner together as a family. The Funke household apparently didn't get the memo.
