Tiny Town part 10

Spring has arrived, but you wouldn't know it as it's been unseasonably cold.

These freak snowstorms are really interfering with the gardening.

I've started Azure's house, and it's gradually taking shape.

Annie has taken an interest in photographing ghosts, so she has made several trips to the graveyard. Beatrice sent along some grilled salmon to see if it would draw Donna Par-Teague out to play.

No luck on this particular night, but other ghosts made their appearance.

Old lady Lionheart came out of her crypt.

Honey Bellamy seemed to be looking for her horse.

And Chuck Hobble came out to say howdy.

Annie seemed particularly enthralled with the pets. Ali Brannon happened by and came to introduce himself. Annie told him that cemeteries generally gave her the creeps, so she was really out of her comfort zone coming here. Little did she know he was mean-spirited.

On this particular occasion, Annie brought some fruit and left it to entice Donna to come out.

She came out and ate the lime.

Ali wanted to know if she ever learned to read.

Annie cared for the animals.

Chuck was concerned about the cost of feeding this chubby cat.

The pictures turned out great! They aren't big sellers yet, at least not at the moment.

On Annie's third visit, Patricia Bedlington was skulking around and stole Donna Par-Teague's lime and ate it.

Old Patricia makes no bones about her career choice and wears that mask everywhere she goes. It makes me a little nervous when she's on the lot during store hours.

It turns out she isn't the one I should be worried about. It's innocent-looking Hailey Shepard who tried to shoplift. I guess I should have caught on earlier where Azure went to the store and half the town was there showing their disapproval of the woman.

I remember wondering at the time why everyone was so against her. At least I wasn't the only one not in the know - Azure was also clueless.

"Oh how cute! He must have taken his grandma out to lunch."

I don't know what Hailey stole, but the cops didn't handle it well. First this guy came and arrested her then the woman walked her to the police car, but Hailey didn't get in and the woman drove away, leaving her at the curb.

Then Hailey went skulking around Beatrice's cash register. At least she didn't succeed in stealing anything this particular day.

Hailey isn't the only one who has had a brush with the law; Azure was caught painting an unauthorized mural at the Spring Festival.

"Honestly, officer, I didn't know I needed a permit to display my art in public places. It looks nice, doesn't it?"

The police department needs to get it's act together. They even abandoned one of their cars with the lights flashing along the cemetery road.

It looked as if someone had called in a noise complaint, but no one confronted Annie about it.

Well, almost nobody . . .

I'm going to have to take that snake-charming basket away from Annie, she's obsessed with it and brings it out at the most inappropriate times. I stop the interaction and make her do what we set out to do, but the first chance she gets, she's right back at it. She took another trip to France to deliver the baseball she had recovered on her previous trip to the rightful owner, and she was CONSTANTLY fighting me over playing this thing! Maybe if I just take it out of the inventory and leave it on the lot, that will be enough.

Before I forget to mention it, we have a new resident in Tiny Town. Cyprus used his lifetime points to get a simbot named Mandie. I want him to build a simbot, but the opportunity wasn't arising. I figure it was because he was a shop owner and no longer an inventor career wise. I wanted Mandie to take over the business for him so he could go back to the inventing career.

It wasn't as easy as hiring Mandie then switching roles - I had to have Cyprus close his business and Mandie use the computer, and under real estate (I think - it took a long time for me to find it), apply for her own license, and name her own business, "Widgets and Stuff," in order to transfer ownership. I also tried having Azure start her own business on the lot using a second register, but it looked like it was tied to the other register, so I chickened out in trying to make it work. Maybe I'll try at some point in another save so I don't corrupt this one.

Mandie isn't the best shopkeeper as she tends to initiate fights with the customers. However, the customers keep frequenting the shops, so all's good.

Mandie got her comeuppance when this mean-spirited dude put her in her place. (I don't remember his name, but nobody likes him.)

Some of the Tiny Town residents were getting a little stir crazy, so I sent them out on the town for some R & R.

For some reason the Consignment Store isn't open anymore. My guess is that Ida Coyle quit and took another job - I think in business or journalism - and the game hasn't assigned another employee. Luckily, the Elixir Store will take most of the gang's consignments. Annie and Beatrice went to visit the Elixir store, and Annie consigned some of her photos. Then she and Bea autonomously stayed to work on some magic skills.

Bea managed to summon a cat.

Annie learned how to make an elixir or two.

On another occasion, Cyprus was messing around with the cauldron in the Elixir Store, and created a potion that made him impetuous, so I had him take most of the Tiny Town funds and purchase the consignment store, hoping he could then hire someone to man the register, but he didn't get the option. However, they can collect money from the place now. There's also a Savvy Seller register on the lot, and I think it keeps track of purchases made by the townies as long as one of the household is on that lot. I don't know if the funds go directly into the household funds or if I need to check the register to see how much money has been collected and use the familyfunds cheat to add it to the household. That's something I'll need to experiment with.

In other news, Opal achieved her lifetime wish. It's a pity this wish is glitched and doesn't keep track, but she woohoo'd with her 5th person in a 5th location.

Opal's tally sheet:

#1 with Cyprus in Annie's shower
#2 with Paguk the alien in the time machine
#3 with Herman Whipsnake in an igloo
#4 with Benjamin Schmidt in a haystack
#5 with Elias Alder (Bea's ex-boyfriend and current nemesis) in the photobooth

The dating drama continues for the residents of Tiny Town. All their phones keep blowing up with call from both friends and foes asking them out. Azure and Feisal Phan seemed to hit it off when they first met, but Feisal is a lousy date. He spent the evening insulting and arguing with her.

She even gussied up with a magical makeover, and he ignored her in favor of studying the magic spellbook.

Despite Azure's date being at the Elixir store, it was Beatrice who had the best magical date. Saul Fox asked her out to a fishing spot and a unicorn was hanging out there.

Saul knows how to treat a lady; unfortunately he's taken. He must be a Casanova of some sort.

The unicorn is hoping Beatrice has a snack for him, while Saul is wondering if he should catch this turtle and present it to Beatrice as a gift. I guess he decided that would be too over-the-top.

Cyprus had been wanting to throw a party, so he threw a keg party over in front of Annie's gallery.

I had him invite Andrea Pelly, thinking they were still a couple, but somewhere along the line, she betrayed him and this time he didn't forgive her. They aired their dirty laundry at the party.

It looks like Cruz is also upset with Beatrice, maybe because she went out with Saul Fox, but Cruz never calls her to ask her out. In fact, he's called Annie a few times, but Annie has refused, valuing her friendship with Bea above a date with Cruz.

Before the night was over, Andrea and Cyprus came to blows which ended in humiliation for Cyprus.

From the looks of it, this will be all over social media by morning.

They fought twice, and Cyprus lost twice. Now his wish is to defeat Andrea in a fight.

The "juice" finally took it's toll on the guests . . . when they sobered up, they headed for home.

The next day, Benni came around to console Cyprus on his break-up.

"I saw your fight with Andrea on social media, are you okay?"

Even the simbot Mandie has been asked out on a date. Rex Dunham asked her out to the Hangman's Tree.

It looks like Mandie is looking for a mate, but I'm not sure about Rex's motives. To me it looks like he just wants someone to cook for him.

She seems willing to do the cooking, but at some point the date was going downhill. Maybe this dude was making some snide remarks that triggered it.

By the end of the date, it seems like they made up. Whether this relationship will develop into romance is anyone's guess.

Opal's and Benjamin Schmidt's relationship has cooled.

She's toying with starting a relationship with Keenan, . . .

. . .  but sometimes his arrogance makes her want to puke.

She's been wanting to woohoo in a hot tub and Cruz Martindale has one, so maybe that's who she should be pursuing.

Azure's house is now complete. There have been a few changes since these last pictures, but these give the general idea of her bohemian style.

We've had a few fires and one more death on the property since the last episode. (RIP Felipe Marshall.)

But it's now time for a new resident to move in. Welcome Frank Stem.

Frank will me making his money by gardening and selling his produce and making nectar from the produce Tiny Town provides. His goal is to build a modern farmhouse to live in, have an orchard, wine cellar, and large garden.

He and Azure seem quite taken with each other, so we might be getting our first real romance among the residents.

Here are a couple out-takes for you to create your own captions . . .

Annie showing off the earrings Opal made.

The kitty picture Opal painted for Azure.

Bea trying out the harvester that Cyprus invented. She prefers the old fashioned way - this machine makes her dizzy and doesn't seem to save that much time.

Bea helping herself to the Bedlington's horse manure while attending a fancy party at their house.

That's it for now . . . Time to get to know Frank Stem.
