Lunastia - Part 6 A look at the "Natives"

I checked in on Lunastia after a long hiatus. As a refresher, this is my asylum-turned-planet colony game. The townsfolk consist of 12 sims who came in two separate cohorts to prove their rank in the colony and settle here. These 12 have since started their own lives and families. Along the way some privately funded expeditions have arrived, consisting mostly of paparazzi and a few service staff. Here are the primary families.

Westley and Tracy Decker - These are the most wealthy of the town, based mainly on scoring well during their initial training and testing, then choosing to marry and combine their rewards to build a large, though rather empty house on the hill.

Westley is a talented musician and Tracy is a computer whiz. They have a son named Curtis who at the time I was visiting was a teen with the virtuoso, good, friendly, and unlucky traits. He has a girlfriend - Rachel Underwood-Kemp. In addition to Curtis, the couple has twin baby girls named Celina and Adrianne. (I didn't really spend much time with them except to make sure they had enough cribs.)

The Underwood-Kemp family are one of the poorer families because both Brandon and Camille scored low based on the fact that both are technophobes and spent a lot of their time during training and testing trying to sabotage the equipment. They are lucky they didn't get sent back or jailed. The couple has two children. Guadalupe and Rachel pictured here with Camille in the background. (I haven't spent any time with them this go-round, but I see them around town.)

Next we have Ahmad and Cori Ring. Cori is also a technophobe who tried sabotaging the equipment. Ahmad is a bot fan who created CLYDE, the planet's only plumbot so far. CLYDE is not yet sentient. Initially Ahmad and CLYDE got their own house and Cori had her own house, but Ahmad up and married Cori, so I moved him out and gave CLYDE a different human roommate from the group who came over on a privately funded expedition. (This roommate, Cynthia Laughlin, up and married someone and moved in with him, so CLYDE is living alone again.)

Ahmad and Cori Ring have a very chaotic household due to the choices they made. In addition to them, they have two teenagers - Skylar (overemotional, family oriented, excitable, and artistic and working at the mausoleum.) and Elise (artistic, friendly, evil, and with commitment issues) Elise aged up from child while I was with them. She's very pretty.

Here she is taking candy from her little brother Marc, who is good and excitable. You can also see two puppies in this picture. They have a total of 4 dogs - the mother and three pups. Their plan for getting ahead is to keep all the dogs and train them to hunt. Hopefully they will bring in some valuable items. The mother dog is trained, but so far has only brought in a chip bag (probably left by one of those privately funded colonists.) Add to this large family the fact that Ahmad likes to throw parties even thought he doesn't have the party animal trait, and chaos ensues. (I extended their house a little so people weren't constantly waiting for others to get out of their way.)

Stephen Willis and his significant other Sheena has had some rocky times. Sheena has a thing for their next-door neighbor Moses. She managed to convince Stephen that they can make the relationship work, however, and they have been doing okay, especially after Sheena, who is family oriented, had a child. The couple named him Ben. They also have a cat. They had about 15 simoleons to their name when I dropped in, but they hadn't collect the 6000 from owning the bar. With that money, Stephen upgraded his bar with a pool table. He had an Asian grill at home and was constantly cooking and eating while at home, so I moved the grill to the bar so they can also serve some Asian cuisine.

The kid in the picture is Ben, who is going to do some homework while his dad Stephen tends bar. This bar is always on the list of hot spots, but seldom has this many people in it. It seems like everyone hangs out at the dome. This is where they were pretty much inmates for a couple weeks before being released, but it has since been turned into a community garden with a mall underground. The mall has a grocery store, food court, gym, future tech store, game room, and bookstore, along with a hotel-like area for those who need a place to sleep and clean up.

For some reason, I can't get cashiers for the book, food, or nectary registers. Luckily I have rabbithole rugs and Savvy Seller registers that make things more interactive.

Back to the primary families.

Moses Armstead is a loser, but all the ladies love him. He lives with evil Jaimie McMillan, and they have a daughter named Susie is who is Ben Willis' best friend. I don't think the kids realize that Ben's mom and Susie's dad have a romance on the side - or at least they did at one point. Susie is a genius, virtuoso and a light sleeper. This family also has a cat.

I had an issue arise with the house Moses and family were living in. They didn't used to have problems, but certain routing issues manifested recently, especially around the kitchen. There were some tiles right in front of the fridge that couldn't be used, so the family couldn't get to the fridge or cook. I tried deleting the flooring where the problem was so I could replace it, but I couldn't delete it because it was "required by another object" but there was no object and all the tiles around the problem area could be deleted. Then I found another area in the living room with the same problem, and this area was larger. I had Jaimie buy another lot and built them another house and move them in. Then I bulldozed the house they were living in. It's a pity. I really liked their house.  Hopefully these problems won't reoccur, or I'll just have to save some of my favorite sims to the bin and say goodbye to Lunastia.

I haven't dropped in on Kendrick Hogue, the evil brooder, but as far as I know he is still single and has a dog.

I spent most of my time with Precious. She's the planet's nectar maker. She wants to have a large nectar collection as her lifetime wish, so I built her a small nectar cellar, and she's been mostly keeping what she makes, selling a few bottles here and there. She also gave Stephen one as a gift as he was a good friend. Precious has taken up with a member of one of the private expeditions.

Here she' telling him she thinks her latest batch of nectar might be worthy of a prize.

His name is Julius Kauker, and he seems like a pretty good guy, except he has the Master Romancer lifetime wish, so I don't know if he'll stick around. For now he's living with Precious and they get along well.

"Do you ever miss Earth, Julius?"

"Not really. As long as I have books about Earth, I feel like I can visit there any time."

"At least Lunastia has a moon. It's kind of like a little piece of home has followed us here."

I was worried about Julius cheating on Precious, but maybe it's Precious who has the wandering eye. I caught Ahmad flirting with her at Westley's party, and she liked it.

Julius got distracted with one of the Decker's baby girls and paid no attention to the flirting going on. I wonder if he's thinking of starting a family.

I didn't take too many screenshot this round as most of it was about Precious making nectar, but here's a few shots from around town.

Elise and the telescope she got for her birthday.

Skylar (left) and Curtis (right) at the movies. (They look a lot alike form a distance. I might have to fix that.)

They came to the movies together, but I guess it isn't cool for two dudes to sit next to each other.

"I can't believe we paid good money for this oldy moldy movie. Why can't Earth ship us something more current?" Curtis whined.

Stephen is thrilled that Ben's little friend is so interested in chess. (Stephen's official job is a chess player - but really he runs his bar.)

He knows a lot about chess, so I guess that's why he cringes when he thinks one of them has made a bad move.

Teens on Lunastia start talking about marriage early. This is not Curtis' girlfriend, and they didn't flirt with each other, just talking about getting married, I guess.

"As soon as we are both adults, I'm going to marry Rachel." Curtis says.

"So technically you are engaged then?"

"You'd better make sure she's in love with you."

"She might just be after you're family's money."

I left the room for a few minutes, and when I returned, Stephen was like this, and I have no idea what he was up to. Gotta love this game.

That's it for now.
