It's been awhile since I played the Northern Winds Legacy, so probably more for my benefit that anything, I felt I needed to review and fill in some gaps.
When the North Wind came calling while Polly's family was in Wild Wild West, the whole family, (Polly, Maxwell, Kyngston, Calvin, Calvin's imaginary friend Patterns, Marco (the adopted waif from San Palmero), and their horse all landed in Hylewood.
I spent a lot of time building in Hylewood because it was an empty world, but unfortunately I don't have many pictures and didn't take good notes, so I have forgotten a lot of what happened there. But here is what I do have.
Hylewood was basically overrun with werewolves, much to Maxwell's delight. There was one family in particular, the Albert family whose name I changed to Albertson because I didn't want confusion with Calvin's mother Jillian Albert of Huckleberry Bay. Both parents were werewolves, and I suspect their two children would start showing werewolf traits as they aged up.
Kyngston started performing on stage rather than just delivering singing telegrams and busking.
Marco, Calvin and Patterns all aged up to teens.
Maxwell got hold of an age reversal potion and aged back down. However, unlike Polly who doesn't age at all, he will continue to age.
In order to move the family to my new computer, I had to save those moving to the library and upload them to the exchange. I decided to take only the heirs, so I aged Marco up a few days early, so there would be an adult in the house. Only Polly, Maxwell, Kyngston, and Calvin were carried to Twinbrook.
Here's a brief photodrop from the last days of Wild Wild West and the time in Hylewood.

Kyngston can be so inappropriate at times!
Maxwell is a chick magnet, even in his old age. "Hey, weren't you a rock star once? My mom has all your records!"
I'm afraid that's all I got for that time period. On to Twinbrook. This is the first time I dropped the family into a pre-furnished mansion in the wealthy district as they had over 100,000 simoleons to spend.
In true EA style, the furnishings were a little lackluster. I replaced a few cheap beds and put laundry hampers in most rooms so laundry didn't pile up, but that's about all so far. Many of the Starlight Shores venues were dropped in by the game - not necessarily in the most logical of places, but whatever. I replaced the self-serve bars with professional bars in all of them.
Changes I made to the town include dropping The Pit Stop from Cape Albacore into the swamp area; adding lounge chairs, diving boards, a pool slide, a food booth, a picnic table, and a small playground to the public pool lot; adding an elixir store on the upper floor of the consignment store building; and converting the amphitheater into an actual performance park.
Time for a quick review of the status of the family members:
Polly Moloney, originally from Bridgeport - Generation 1/founder
Traits: frugal, bookworm, hopeless romantic, brave, heavy sleeper, and social butterfly
Likes: Latin music, pancakes, and the color white
Career at this point: Level 9 writer, having read 93 books, written 39 books, and achieved all three additional challenges: Speed Writer, Prolific Writer, and Sci Fi Novelist. She's a darn good musician, but aside from being in a band with her husband in the early years, she has never pursued it as a career.
Lifetime wish: to be super popular having at least 20 friends. (This has been achieved and it shows up as achieved, but since this is a new save, the tally is back to zero. We'll see if she can do it again.)
Skills Mastered: athletics, charisma, cooking, guitar, handiness, and writing.
Age: Polly is very sensitive about getting old and has taken an age reversal and anti-aging potion, so she's basically frozen as a young adult and is immortal as far as dying of old age. However, I often have her engage in risky activities, so there is always a chance of her dying - just not of old age.
Maxwell Maloney - born in Kingsbury to Polly Maloney and Matty Crewe - Generation 2
Traits: technophobe, born salesman, disciplined, easily impressed, and adventurous
Likes: dark wave music, egg rolls, and the color aqua
Career: formerly a rock star, these days Maxwell prefers the quiet life and spend time painting. His father, Matty Crewe of Bridgeport, was also a skilled painter, and instilled the love of the hobby in Maxwell. Maxwell is level 7 in the painting career.
Lifetime Wish: Master of the Arts. He has achieved his lifetime wish.
Skills Mastered: athletics, charisma, guitar, and painting
Age: Young Adult due to an age reversal potion that Polly made for him. It didn't make sense that she would stand by and watch her child die of old age when she could do something about it. However, he still ages - he just got a "Mulligan." Like Polly, I have him engage in risky behaviors so he could potentially die in an accident.
Kyngston Maloney - born in Red Wood Harbor to Maxwell Maloney and Renee (New) Maloney - Generation 3
Traits: virtuoso, perfectionist, neurotic, kleptomaniac, dog person, and loves the cold
Likes: classical music, autumn salad, and the color red
Career: In his early years he was a private investigator, but later followed his father into show business but as a singer, rather than a rock star. He is currently at level 7.
Lifetime Wish: to be a Vocal Legend
Skills Mastered: athletics and guitar
Age: Kyngston is currently an adult with 19 days left to elderhood. So far he has not taken any age altering potions.
Calvin Albert - born in Huckleberry Bay to Kyngston Maloney and Jillian Albert (parents never married.)
Traits: supernatural fan, loves the outdoors, easily impressed, and proper
Likes: island life music, stu surprise, and the color black
Career: high school student. He had a part-time job a the grocery store until he became interested in a girl.
Lifetime Wish: Zoologist - catching 20 minor pets from the wild
Highest Skill: level 7 in fishing
Age: Teen with 7 days to young adulthood
*********************
Kyngston's first order of business was to audition for a gig at the karaoke bar across the street from their new house. He got the gig, but the audience was minimal.
Silver Racket left part way through the show, but Kat Hunter is apparently Kyngston's #1 fan.
He put on a good show despite the fact that this was supposed to be the town's hotspot for the evening and next to no one showed up.
His next gig was at the performance park dropped in by the game, and it drew a larger crowd. His grandma came out to cheer him on.
Okay, now you are just showing off, Kyngston.
He has two more gigs scheduled for the week - one Saturday at the amphitheater and the other on Sunday at the Port-a-Party.
After the gig ended and everyone left, the Bayless family was still hanging about, having a picnic. I stayed behind to see what they would do.
"Kyngston is so talented, and so rich!"
"I wanna have his baby!"
"Then it would get in the papers, and I could become famous for being Kyngston Maloney's baby-mama. I might even get a healthy child support check each month!"
"Chase, honey, you are still too young to be thinking about starting a family. Babies are a lot of responsibility and you haven't even finished high school yet!"
Everyone's tired. They should be heading home soon.
Kyngston's nudist tendencies are still evident at home, much to Polly's dismay.
Kyngston is pretty successful these days, so he rarely stoops to singing telegrams, but he made an exception for Goodwin Goode who was celebrating a new promotion.
He was a little rusty and fell flat on his face, but he still got paid, so all's good.
I sent him over to make friends with Goodwin's roommate Sinbad Rotter, but Kyngston had other ideas.
Wow, Kyngston, you don't even know this guy!

He was promptly told to leave and never come back. Way to go, buddy.
Polly, the social butterfly and hopeless romantic, set out to meet people and make more friends.
She's been to the gym, library, and festival grounds.
At the festival grounds, she met DeAndre Wolf, learned he was a local rock-n-roll legend. They started jamming together and really hit it off.
They even have the same taste in guitars!
She went home knowing she wanted to get to know this guy better! A few days later, she asked him out to the public pool. (This was before I upgraded it.)
He had to leave for work, but the next day she asked him over to the house and asked him if he'd like to go steady. He said yes, then they woohooed. I'm not going with try for a baby or risky woohoo with Polly because, technically, she's an old lady and has already produced her heir. I don't see her as wanting any more children knowing the North Wind may swoop in and separate her from her child forever.
Polly's not the only one who is lucky in love lately. Calvin has managed to wrangle an invitation from Jade Greenwood, arguably the prettiest girl in school.
It seems she has a crush on the boy.
The Greenwoods have a reputation for being very eco-friendly, so Calvin made sure to impress Jade's father Oliver with his knowledge of how to conserve electricity.
He was rewarded with an invitation to stay for supper. It's always good to get on the father's good side.
Maxwell has completed some paintings and has consigned them. He also got hold of a blue jellybean.
He has been expressing a desire to improve his inventing skills, and has taken great joy in blowing things up to obtain scrap.
He doesn't have a love interest in this town, but that might soon change. On his way home, he stopped in at The Pit Stop and noticed this colorful young paparazzi.
Her name is Cho Sonwhun.
He compared her to a precious jewel.
"Hey, I recognize you!" she exclaimed, "You're that famous rockstar from decades ago! Why do you look so young?"
To be continued. . . .
