Riverview Updated Part 3 - Getting to know the families a little better.

When we left off, Spencer Funke had just aged up to a teen.

He wasn't the only one. Little Carol aged up from toddler to child soon afterward.

Irene was thrilled because now she had someone to go to hang out with.

(Side note: some of these pictures were taken before I got the baking station and pizza oven issues straightened out, so I dropped in the Into the Future food synthesizer as a placeholder. This spawned a waitress, and Holden Wonzy was able to get a hamburger here. This has all been updated in later pictures.)

Here's the whole family chillin' in the family room upstairs, watching TV and reading.

It wasn't much later that Irene aged up to a teen. Sabrina was thrilled. She decided she would have Irene help her out in the bakery.

Irene baked bread while Sabrina worked on the pies, cookies and other desserts.

No need to be rude, Holden. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

While Mom is chatting up potential customers, Irene decided it time to finally take that much-needed bathroom break.

It seems the Williams family has an aversion to banana cream pie.

Two thumbs down and a raspberry to boot! Maybe they just don't like pie in general.

When I was thinking you could work at the bakery, Aimee, this wasn't what I had in mind. I took control of her for a bit and put her to work baking. Was planning on splitting the sales money from the register with her, but then I learned that the Funkes can also collect profits like any other business, so maybe the employees can have whatever profits the register show at the end of the day. I'll have to think on that. For now, since I'm not playing the Williams full time, at least one member of the family needs to have a rabbithole job to generate a steady income, so Aimee is still working the political career, and I'll have her help out part-time here.

Marley, shouldn't you be off painting or writing? Stop kissing on your wife and let her get back to work. You're giving Sabrina ideas.

Despite the earlier reactions of potential customers, Sabrina is doing okay with selling her baked goods. She makes between 200 - 250 simoleons a day + the weekly profits of about 1200 simoleons.

I forgot to check the Funkes' traits, but I know Irene has the insane trait. Despite that, she managed to get a boyfriend when I was with the Baker family - not to be confused with the Funke family who are bakers (more on the Baker family later). Irene and Lawrence Lum are high school sweethearts.

I guess Lawrence is used to crazy women. His mother, Lily Lum, is a piece of work. It seems every time I see her she's autonomously arguing with someone.

Ironically, one of her wants is to make friends with someone. I don't think she knows how.

Her traits are charismatic and lucky, so maybe she has a chance. Her others are light sleeper, snob, and mean-spirited. So maybe not. Her husband Theodore is a computer whiz, lucky and a schmoozer and works in the political career. However he's also a heavy sleeper and friendly - the opposite of Lily.

This is Theodore. He's going to keep watch while Lily checks to see if there's anything good in the dumpster.

They found this retro dining table, so I got them some chairs for it, but when I went to load up my game, my cat was blocking my view and I accidentally deleted my latest save, so I don't think they have the table anymore.

Let's have a quick look at their house: kitchen.

Living room. Lily's favorite color is green.

Lawrence's room. His favorite color is white, and his traits are genius, charismatic, friendly, and dislikes children.

Lily's and Theodore's bedroom. Theodore likes red. I think Lily may have had an Asian grandparent and probably inherited this furniture from them.

I don't know why Lily is so mean spirited, but I suspect she was once a flash-in-the-pan recording artist whose success has dried up. She still works in music as a hobbyist, but it seems at one point she might have been a young, idealistic up-and-coming musician, judging from the poster in the background.

Riverview is just glad to have a local celebrity, so they keep her poster up on the Simfest stage. This could also explain why Lily is a snob. She once could get away with it because of her fame, but not so much anymore.

I think Lily probably knows the Baker family since both mother and daughter are in the music industry.

The story behind the Baker family is that Svetlana and Heathcliff are getting up in years, and they have an adult daughter, Becky, who's a single mother to a toddler named Topher.

Svetlana was "superjuiced" when I switched over to the family, as was Becky. They must have had some kind of after-party when work was over. I gave both of them new hairdos and some make-up as they both were in a bad need of a glow-up.

Svetlana is flirty, family oriented, good, charismatic, and ambitious. She wants to be super popular.

I went to their house and put in some windows and furnished it, but I haven't taken pictures yet. I think I got distracted with another family. However, I was with them on leisure day, and Svetlana and Heathcliff took Topher to the festival and went roller skating together. Svetlana skated circles around Heathcliff and Topher.

"Are you okay, grandpa?"

I really admire elder sims. I don't think I would dare skate any more. Once I fell down, I don't think I'd be able to get up again.

While Topher was at the festival with his grandparents, Becky met up with her boyfriend at a park.

Something tells me they work together.

Back to the diner as that's where the previous save left of before I accidentally deleted the most recent one. So I'm back with the Lums who seem to want to try again at retrieving the dining table from the dumpster, but this time the dumpster seems much more popular.

It appears the dumpster behind the diner is the town hot spot - a great place for a single dude to pick up chicks. At least this guy thinks so.

He was flirting with Lily and she clearly told him to get lost, but before I could catch it, he swooped in for a heat-of-the-moment kiss! I guess he didn't want to miss a chance to kiss a celebrity, no matter how much of a has-been they are.

Lily was not keen on being man-handled and gave him an earful. Then she warned the paparazzo that she had better not find this in the media or there will be a lawsuit. Lily's a married woman, after all.

Meanwhile, her assailant is letting all his buddies know who he just kissed.

But he's quickly distracted by the beautiful blonde who showed up. Theodore is a little miffed that she's blocking HIS dumpster.

We know Becky has a boyfriend already, but this guy doesn't know it and is not taking no for an answer.

"Go out with me, pleeeeze??"

Rejection stings. Perhaps Becky thought she was being too harsh. Maybe she fell for those puppy-dog eyes. At any rate, she must have decided her and her boyfriend weren't all that serious.

Too late. It looks like the damage has been done. Of course I had to see who this unlucky Casanova was.

His name is Jameel Van Guile, and oddly enough he is charismatic, good, has a good sense of humor and is lucky. This just must not have been his lucky night. He's also inappropriate, but goes a long way in explaining his behavior.  He's currently living in a small bachelor pad above the garage of a college friend and her little dog. Both Jameel and his friend Joann were criminal law majors which is how they met. Joann inherited some money from a wealthy aunt and decided to invest in real estate. She spent almost the entire amount on a big house, thinking she could take in a roommate or two to help pay the mortgage if needed.

This is where Jameel comes in. Both he and Joann were recruited by the Riverview police department and are working as snitches. This is them going off to work. I don't know for sure, but I think Joann is work in vice, trying to undermine the sex trade. Jameel, I think, is working undercover trying to infiltrate the mob, as he was given the "How to Avoid Concrete Shoes" book at work.

Here, Jameel has just gotten off work - or has he? Maybe he's trying to befriend this burglar, Sammy Jeckars, and uncover a theft ring.

The guy in the orange shirt won the hotdog eating contest. I also think he works behind the cash register at the Funke's bakery and is a witch.

But I digress.

Jameel Van Guile's lifetime wish is to become a spy, while Joann Eastman ultimately wants to become a DNA profiler. At this point, both have Franco Padilla as a boss, and both need to work on their logic skills, so after work the first day, I sent them across the street to the library to do so.

Jameel seems more dedicated. Joann went to the computer and started chatting online. Then I figured while she was there, she might as well set up a dating profile.

Joann's traits include good sense of humor, computer whiz, adventurous, friendly, and slob.

Her little dog's name is Rose.

I left off with Jameel in pursuit of Becky Baker. He sent her a love letter and a secret admirer text. He's asked her out, but she works different hours from him because she's in the music career. Will they get together? Who knows. Jameel has taken to blogging about his pursuit of Becky. How inappropriate. If she catches wind of it, that might be the end of it. In the meantime, he's trying to establish a good relationship with her old man, assuring him he has gainful employment and ambition.

I'll leave you here with a quick look into the Eastman house.

Jameel's bachelor pad. He also has use of the kitchen downstairs if he wants to do some actual cooking. Up here he only has a microwave and fridge. He eats mostly yogurt like his hero Michael Weston from Burn Notice.

I didn't take a picture of his bathroom, but I put in the shower that looks like a phonebooth from the Movie pack. I figured it suited a wannabe spy, and I couldn't think of another time where I might use it.

This is Joann's and Rose's room.

Go use your own computer, Jameel! Leave Joann's laptop alone.

The rest of the house is sparsely furnished due to lack of funds and Joann not being sure what her style is yet. The kitchen and dining area is the most furnished.

She wanted a chess table after visiting the library, so she has that.

Most of the other rooms are unfurnished at this point. Joann might consider taking in another roommate.
