Riverview Updated - Introduction

Welcome to Riverview Updated.

This map has been reworked by Lapaige46, and I can't wait to explore it. It appears to be unpopulated, and I started a new Sims3 document file and haven't added in my mods folder yet. Therefore, I don't have my usual library of potential residents, and I don't have Story Progression to load it with randomized residents. I decided this would be a great time to explore the sims in the bin, as I rarely play with them. I dropped each family into random houses on the map and will take turns visiting them.

I started with Gwen Glover and Holden Wonzy.

According to The Sims Wiki: The family's biography states that Gwen and Holden are very different, but also hints that their relationship might be something more than friendship. However, the player is free to choose what kind of relationship they will have, as they are not yet boyfriend and girlfriend.

I have played with these two before in my Adventureland game and they paired up of their own accord and had a family.

I used free real estate to place all the families and will use their family funds to furnish the houses.  Here's Gwen and Holden's house. (I'm going to assume this is Gwen's house as her name is the household name, and she took her friend Holden in as a roommate.

Now that I look at it, I should change the shower/tub tile to match the walls.

Holden's room. He just moved in, so he may acquire more stuff down the road.

Gwen's telling Holden that someday she wants to have a child and turn what is now his room into a nursery, but for now, he can do what he wants with it in way of decorating.

Gwen's room.

With their house furnished and because I'm fairly familiar with them, I moved on to the Williams family.

Marley William seems like he's a variation of Darren Dreamer in that he dreams big, but it can cause his family to struggle financially - at least until his dreams start paying off. His lifetime wish is to be an illustrious author. Right now the family is strapped for cash. Their home has the necessities, but not much else. His wife Aimee is a natural cook and their profile suggests she will try to supplement the family funds by getting a job in this area. However, she wanted to join the political career, so I let her (for now.)

The Williams have a little daughter named Makila who is excitable and easily impressed. Here's a few shots of their house in its current state.

Kitchen and Dining Room

Marley's and Aimee's Bedroom

I think this was intended to be an ensuite bathroom, but I made it a laundry room and moved the door to come off the hallway. I may eventually move it to the basement and convert this to an ensuite later.

The Living Room

Mikila's Room

This girl is the babysitter, that they apparently hired even though they couldn't afford her before I first looked in on the family. As a result, she took the living room rug as payment. The Williams family will have to find a way to take care of little Makila while both of them try to earn a living.

Their usual routine is Amiee goes off to work and Marley takes Makila with him to the Art Studio where he is working on his painting skills. There are also computers on the lot, so he can practice writing as well, and maybe start his first book. In their free time, they try collecting rocks and things around town.

When Aimee gets off work, she sometimes lingers in this area to decompress before going home.

I think this is her "happy place." I stayed a little longer with the Williams family than I intended, trying to help them get their feet under them, but I did take the family to check out the bakery on Aimee's day off.

I'm going to assume the Funke family owns the bakery. (I'm going to make it so with cheats.)

Sabrina Funke is checking out their new investment, trying to figure out how they are going to keep all the shelves filled.  Maybe she'll hire Aimee Williams to do some of the baking. Aimee had better brush up on her cooking skills - it takes more than natural talent to be successful.

This build has a couple of apartments upstairs as well. Maybe they can rent them out to some roommates.

I'm not sure Rhett is ready to be a landlord and fix things when they break.

Rhett and Sabrina have three kids: Irene, Spencer, and Carol. I'll be dropping in on this family and getting their bakery underway in the next episode. Until then. . . .
