I spent a few days with Rocco to see how he was getting along with his fiancé Mary and his career as a private investigator. He adopted a kitten while I was away. And I also discovered several items from China in his family inventory. When did you go to China, Rocco? Was that during my last game? Do items from the family inventory follow you when I save you to the bin? Well, we might as well put the items to use!
He invited Mary over and they had a good time.
They played ping-pong, made out, and spent time watching TV together and planning their wedding.
Maybe they will be good for each other. The next day Rocco got a call from Hector Lance. Love Day was in a few days, and being the hopeless romantic he is, Hector was seriously considering asking Ruth Dodge to marry him on that day. I guess he wanted a second opinion before he took the plunge.
I was a little confused as Hector didn't have any family members that I knew of - he was randomly generated by Story Progression. However, Rocco went to the pub that night and discovered that Hector did have a couple cousins who lived in town. One of them was Lillian Doughtry who lived on the houseboat that LeRoy Turner originally had. She apparently didn't think Hector and Ruth were right for each other. She told Rocco the relationship would never last - or at least she hoped it wouldn't. (Ouch!) There is also a paparazzo named Antione Faust who is somehow related to Hector, and he also didn't approve of the match.
Rocco tried asking one of Ruth's kids how he would feel if his mother married Hector.
The kid didn't give him a straight answer. Next he decided to look on Ruth's social media to see if there were any red flags there. He hacked into her computer . . . .
I guess Ruth just isn't into him.
He told Hector what he discovered. Hector was disappointed, but felt it best to break things off. He sent Ruth a break-up text (classy guy.)
Hector isn't one to sit and mope, however. He decided he wanted to reinvent himself. It appears he quit his job as a police officer and was busking, but he really felt like he could make the biggest difference by joining the political arena, so he became a podium polisher. Next on his agenda was to throw a pool party and invite a lot of people - including that cute pizza delivery girl he met a few weeks ago.
This is the first game I think I played that the sims actually use the pool at pool parties. Usually I find them all crowded up in a bedroom or bathroom listening to someone play the guitar. These sims actually used the pool!
Except for Staci - she preferred sitting in the pool house and watching TV. Maybe Myra and the kids hog the TV at home and she doesn't get to watch her favorite programs.
Hector cooked up some hotdogs for his guests.
They had a late afternoon hail storm and retreated into the house for some dancing and video games.
However, the hail storm ended just in time for the guests to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
Hector managed to lure the pizza girl, Vicki Yanez, to the hot tub to get to know her a little better.
By the way Hector loves the outdoors, is a night owl, a schmoozer, a hopeless romantic, and artistic. I don't know if Vicki is right for him.
I would be interested to see what that pizza appreciator trait is all about, but she looks like she'd be a handful, and I don't know if Hector is up for the challenge. We'll see.
Hector's roommate Seth wasn't at the party. His father had asked him over to the house to hang out. Maybe he was missing his son.
He also got to share some ideas with his uncle Bubba. And enjoy the pool table - when his attempts at trick shots didn't backfire.
Hector and Seth get along rather well, even after Hector quit the police force. Hector even gave him some painting lessons.
Seth still struggles with his unstable personality. Maybe painting will help.
So far the paper bag strategy is helping him cope. We'll see more of Seth a little later.
My next stop was to drop in on the occupant of Barndominium (created by Ciane) and see what he was about.

His name is Osvaldo Hopkins and he is disciplined, frugal, easily impressed, athletic, and meanspirited. He expressed a desire to join the military career, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to adjust some housing.
After joining the military, Osvaldo ran into LeRoy Turner and learned he was a newlywed, and he and his wife were in cramped quarters on the boat and needed a place of their own. Osvaldo wanted to be free of home ownership for awhile and live free of the responsibilities of the monthly mortgage. They came to an agreement, and LeRoy bought Barndominium from Osvaldo, and Osvaldo moved onto the boat.
Excuse me, Anna, aren't you married? Don't go getting any romantic notions regarding Osvaldo! I'm wondering if she is growing discontent with her current situation, because she then came on to LeRoy who was a little creeped out by it.
It was a good thing that a deal was struck, between Osvaldo and LeRoy, because the more they got to know each other, the less they liked each other.
The next day was Love Day.
Bianca and LeRoy were thrilled to finally have a house to themselves. However, they soon learned that homeownership has it's drawbacks - like no landlord responsible for fixing broken plumbing.
However, they decided the drawbacks were worth having their privacy in their own little love nest.
LeRoy played hopscotch while Bianca fixed them a romantic Italian dinner.
Then it was time for the inevitable woohoo.
The Purdy's are still going strong.
However, Maria was getting tire of constantly seeing Diego in his black outfit and bowler hat. She felt he looked too much like Oddjob in the 007 movies. For Love Day, she took him down to the stylist to get a new look.
She gave him some suggestions about how to change things up a bit, then he went to find the stylist.
Meanwhile, Maria decided she could also stand to get a new look. Stylist Cydney Speegle helped her out.
Maria was thrilled with her new look. Next it was Diego's turn.

His stylist was Lillian Doughtry. She suggested he lose the hat, but admitted that he looked good in black, and if it was his favorite color he could keep it, but maybe try a different style of clothing. I forgot to get a picture of his after outfit, but we'll see it a little later on. The Purdy's went home and Diego enjoyed some time in the pool with Jan. They both get a lot of use out of the pool, which is refreshing as most of the time my sims ignore pools unless I prompt them to use them.
When evening approached, Diego and Maria decided to check out the new dance club that just opened down the street - The Rusty Scupper by Sandraelle.

This bartender was fashion challenged, so I got him a more appropriate uniform to match with the bartender upstairs.
That's better. Maria and Diego had a good time drinking and dancing.
There were some others who were dancing the night away as well.
This guy's name is Ron Bacon. He got so wrapped up in dancing that he ignored the fact that he had to pee. His bladder gave out just as some women were arriving. How embarrassing!

He decided to ignore his wet pants and carry on.
He wasn't the only dancing fool. Doug Lilies, the town merman, decided to venture out of the water.
This place had perfectly fine, functional bathrooms. I know because I sent my sims to use them. These guys have just had too much to drink, I guess.
Maria and Diego enjoyed some pizza on the patio, drank, danced and went home. Neither of them wet themselves.
Moving on, Woodsy Cape Cod (created by Ciane) is inhabited by a bachelor named Harlan Ames.
He's a social butterfly, genius, daredevil, hopeless romantic, and lucky. He wants to be a magician. Harlan knows a lot of people, but he's not fond of Jessie for some reason. He has one friend - Braden Childs. He decided to throw a party for some of the singles around the area. He invited Braden, Seth Askew, and Sammy Speegle. He might have invited others, but they must have had plans.
Harlan was taken aback when his friend Braden informed him that he would like to be more than just friends with him. He was open to the idea, it seems.
Braden is inappropriate, frugal, a coward, artistic, and a hopeless romantic. He lives over on Mackerel Island. I left them to check on the other guests in the house.
It wasn't long until Sammy Speegle and Seth Askew were getting cozy. Harlan still seems in shock at the turn of events. Braden was just chilling in the rocking chair.
Braden didn't stay much longer. I think he had to go to work the next morning. I followed him home because I didn't yet know where he lived. He had the "first kiss" moodlet.
Next I saw a sailboat go by and checked to see who it was. It was Lillian Doughtry.
I was feeling sorry for her because she was always seasick from living on a boat not docked, so I added a lot with a port up near the Red Lantern. It has a small coffee shop on it.
Lillian was grateful because she really needed her morning coffee before going off to work.
This is the Port Nemo Coffee Shoppe. I'll try and remember to get some exterior shots next time I play.
In other news, Maria Purdy took obnoxious Mr. Boots to the dog park the other day. It appears the criminal element is alive and well in Cape Albacore - this is the third burglar I've seen. In the far background over the burglar's shoulder you can see the Dawkins family.
I swear I turned off aging, but it seems that Holly and Noah are now teens and Karen's a toddler!
Holly and Noah were taking turns grossing each other out. Holly would show a gross video, then Noah would eat dirt. Kids these days!
That's it for now. There are still more houses and households to explore and a few weddings that should be taking place soon.
