Life and Times of Sandi French - part 4 - Fiona's Day Out, Baby Thor / Falling Out With Jared, Molly's Business Venture, Off to College

 Fiona had been working hard and was in need of a day out. Her love interest Hannah Briggs had moved on to someone else, but she and Fiona were still good friends and enjoyed some time at the pool.

Later, she went to the spa and salon and found River there. She asked River for help in creating a new look for her. "Can you help me look hip and up to date? I feel like such an old lady lately."

"Sure Mom; I'm up on all the latest trends in both fashion and hairstyles. I've even learned some tips with make-up to help hide those unsightly wrinkles!"

"Well, what do you think?" asked River.

"Is this really what all the cool kids are wearing? I just don't think it's me."

She drew a lot of strange looks when she went out in public. River, how could you do this to your poor mother!

Meanwhile, Molly was trying to pin Jared down on how much he was willing to do in way of supporting his baby.

"The baby will be arriving soon, Jared. How involved to you plan to be?" I think Jared is more interested in his new wife than helping with this child. One very stormy day, loudly punctuated with thunder and lighting, Molly's baby boy arrived. She named him Thor because she felt it fitting for the day he was born.

Jared came over, wanting to see the baby, but made it clear he was going to fight contributing any child support. He and Molly had a heated argument and Molly walked away. Then Sandi approached him and must have made some snide remark, because he hauled off and slapped her, which lead to an altercation. 

Jared is no longer welcome in this house! 

Sandi tries to help her mother out with the baby. However, she's not very responsible. One rainy day she was holding little Thor when she decided to go see a movie with  Darlene. She must not have wanted to spring for a babysitter, so she took Thor with her. She didn't want to spend money on a ticket for the baby, so she left him out on the curb in the rain!

Luckily, Fiona had just gotten off work, spotted the soggy little tike, and took him home.

"You'll never guess where I found Thor!" she exclaimed to Molly.

Molly had just aged up to elder, and was thinking about what she wanted to do with the next phase of her life.

She liked cooking but was getting tired of working for the man. Then she spotted a small building behind the Town Hall up for auction. She put in a bid and got the building - perfect for a little neighborhood bakery!

(I had been wanting to try owning a bakery and I have the bakery kit, but for some reason the baker's station oven wasn't working - must be corrupted files as I was unable to upload a fresh install on the launcher and tried using my old DCCache file from my old computer. Molly made due until I got that sorted out by baking desserts at home in the evening and baking bread using the woodfire oven while at work.)

She gets a fair number of customers at certain times of the day and goes home when all her wares have been sold. Some people are just so rude, though. No one's making you buy anything, lady!

I know that's you, Mr. Alto! You aren't thinking of robbing the place are you?

Molly's still working at the restaurant too, but plans to retire soon. She just reached level 10 of the cooking skill. 

As for the star of the show, Sandi has just graduated.

She'll look back on her high school years fondly, especially having fond memories of the Bunch family.

She enjoyed her time with Arlo; he was a good boyfriend.

I thought of sending both Arlo and Darlene to college with Sandi and having them rent a house together, but before I could, Arlo joined the military and Darlene got knocked up with Mortimer Goth's baby. Malcolm and Holly Alto are married, but that didn't stop Malcolm from trying his luck with Sandi.

"You realize you're married don't you, Malcolm?"

Mortimer Goth responded with, "I'm not married - yet! How about we go skinny dipping in the public pool? What da ya say, one last hurrah before you go off an leave us lonely boys behind?"

Sandi was somewhat repulsed by his indecent proposal. He was engaged to her best friend Darlene.

Time to explore the possibilities life has to offer. Sandi set out for college and moved into a dorm, where she met a lot of new and exciting people.

Bernie Butler (watch out Arlo! You have competition.) and another guy called Alfred Jobb are the ones she's made the closest connection to so far. When she went to the meet and greet, she autonomously spent the first part of the session getting familiar with the science lab and practicing presentations.

Then she went and had some fun. If she can maintain a work/play balance, she should do alright. She decided to major in science and medicine and got a partial scholarship. 

We'll see how it all goes.
