Adventureland #22 - What happens in Bridgeport stays in Bridgeport; checking in on widowed Sonyia Whipsnake.

 It appears that Ginny's feelings were still a little hurt over being criticized for wanting a second piece of cake as it haunted her dreams. 

But today is a new day. Santo spent most of his money on a nice three-day honeymoon in Bridgeport. He only briefly considered other locations. He didn't want to take a plane anywhere after his traumatic experience of being in a plane crash and stranded alone on an island for several months, so he and Ginny decided to take a drive up to Bridgeport instead. Santo was thinking he might be able to make some connections there that could further his career and fame as well. 

They settled into their Airbnb, then when to take in the sights. As it was early afternoon, they decided to go to the Butterfly Pavilion first, and take some pictures in their wedding clothes.

It just so happened that Lil Bling was there playing his keyboards. This drew quite the crowd. 

The Bobos danced and enjoyed the music until poor Ginny's feet got sore from Santo repeatedly stepping on them. The boy needs some dancing lessons. 

That evening they tried to get into a sports bar, but the elevator was out of order . . . 

So they decided to try their luck at the swankier Brightmore Lounge. This exclusive club was nearly empty- there were more employees than customers. Apparently Santo isn't that well-known in Bridgeport as he and Ginny resorted to sneaking in to the exclusive area.

 

After being there awhile, drinking, dancing and blowing bubbles, they decided to hop in the hot tub. This is when the staff finally realized they didn't belong there and kicked them out. How embarrassing!

The next day Santo spent the morning in the gym as Adventureland doesn't have one yet, and he wanted to work out until fatigued. Ginny, who likes the outdoors, decided to go to the park instead. Santo met her there after his workout, and after stopping by their room to freshen up, they took a tour of Plumbob Studios and woohooed in public, which got around and damaged Santo's reputation a bit. 

Then Santo checked the paper to find out where the hotspot was to be that evening. It was Eugi's, so that's where they went. Despite the notification that the place was "smokin' hot," there were only two other people besides the employees. The Bobos hung out awhile, had a drink and played darts, but as the place was dead, and they were tired, they decided to call it a night. 

I really like the idea of Bridgeport - the warring vampires, the various people struggling to become famous, etc. but I've got some gripes. Why are the upscale bars always empty? What's the fun of sneaking into the exclusive areas if there aren't any famous people there? Why do sims take a taxi to the subway, take the subway to another station, then get back in a taxi? If they get in a taxi, they should take it to their destination. If they take a subway they should walk to the subway, take it to the closest station to their destination, then walk the rest of the way. 

On their last day, the couple slept in, had some shower woohoo, and went to Waylon's Haunt in the afternoon. (There are always at least some other people there, I've discovered over the years of playing.)

 I think Ginny slipped off to do some dumpster diving because she stunk! She ordered a Big Mistake, then felt the woman Santo was socializing with was being a bit too friendly and confronted her.

Push came to shove . .. 

Santo was disgusted by his bride's behavior and wished they had just played darts instead. After the brawl, Santo suggested she go home and sleep it off. He decided to check out The Grind. 

There were a few people there, and he got me meet his idol, Matthew Hamming.

However, their vacation was over, and they needed to get home by morning so Santo could go to work. He wasn't very happy about that.

Once they got settled back in at home, I went to check on Sonyia Whipsnake. I had seen her and her son Antwan having it out at the Aspens pool a few days earlier when I was with the apartment group. There had been notices that she and Zac were finally tying the knot, but Zac passed away soon after that. 

I don't know if Antwan is calling her garbage, criticizing her housekeeping, or refusing to take out the trash, but they definitely weren't getting along. I don't know who this other woman is, but she was trying to diffuse the situation and support Sonyia emotionally.

Maybe Sonyia was mad because Antwan wouldn't clean up his room, and she forbade him from playing video games until he did. Antwan looks so much like his father.

It turns out when I checked on their relationship, Sonyia and Antwan had a fairly positive one. They weren't besties, but they had a strong connection despite their arguing.

I took a peek into Antwan's social life. It appears he's good friends with Edgar Velenez, and Dayna Russo asked him out to the prom. 

As for Sonyia, she has been neglecting her friends while grieving the loss of Zac, but she has decided to throw a bonfire party and try to reestablish her social network. 

But first she has reached the conclusion that she doesn't want to go through life without Zac, so she went to ask Grim if he would reincarnate Zac, so he would always be with her even if not in his original form. Grim complied.

Meet little Zacqueline Whipsnake. I wonder if she will have the same traits as her previous incarnation, including the pyromaniac trait. I'll have to check and see. I've never tried this before. 

Sonyia not only wants to reestablish her old friendships, but she also wants to make one more rich friend, so she invited Anwar Russo and Boyd Medley to the party. 

Dina Russo brought some nice goopy carbonara - and sneezed over it repeatedly, but all partook nevertheless. Sonyia did seem a little hesitant, however. 

The guy standing behind her has sent her a love letter earlier, so she invited him to the party. However, when she blew him a kiss. . . . 

This girl definitely has a "type." Meanwhile, it looks like Anwar is trying to lift the guy's wallet and Korie is watching to see if he can do it. 

The party was a success. Sonyia even worked in some time in the hot tub catching up with her gal-pals.

Antwan even got some pointers for playing guitar from Sally.

The next day was baby Zacqueline's birthday. What a cutie!

Now it's time to see how Antwan and Dayna's prom date goes.
