Adventureland #19 - Santo Bobo gets a house, teen drama, and Daisy's decision

I realized that I left Santo Bobo living in a tent while he worked on his acting career. He's got a promotion now, and fall is slipping into winter, so I figured it was time to build him a modest yet functional house to shelter him from the cold. It also appears that he has acquired a roommate - Lashanda Oglesby, formerly, a mixologist at the pub, then a paparazzo, and now, it appears, an educator. She is still running around in a fancy gown as her daily wear, and giving me Ginger from Gilligan's Island vibes.

I gave Lashanda a new wardrobe that better fit with working in the education career. It looks like they are romantically involved, but the relationship panel tells a different story. Old lady Daisy Kadukin has her clutches in yet another young man as Santo is showing her as his love interest. With this in mind, I figured Santo needed a two bedroom house.

I have added some extra counters and a stove to the kitchen since this overview was taken, but they still don't have an indoor bathroom but have an all-in-one outhouse.

Santo has earned a promotion or maybe two since I left him, so I figured he was done filming Space Avengers and is now on to his new project Grizzled Scalawags where he plays a dashing, swashbuckling pirate captain. Time for a costume change.

The height of the mirror is giving me fits, but I tried to lower it. Maybe I need to put the dressing table up on a platform? I may have to try that next time I'm in the area.

Santo had a couple days off, so I sent him out to the quarry to locate some gems and minerals to sell to replenish his bank account. There we spotted newlyweds Virginia and Carlos, and Virginia is close to having her baby. They didn't seem to appreciate the racket Santo was making with the gem cutter.

A few days later, she gave birth to a baby girl and named her Peggy. The Poe house was expanded so little Tommy wouldn't have to share a room with his baby sister.

On a similar note, Gwen Wonzy also gave birth to a baby girl, and named her Stephanie. The Wonzys and Poes were seen out celebrating at the Firehouse Pub a few nights later. Saul Goodman was also there.

It looks like little Tommy went looking for his mother.

But back to Santo Bobo's adventures. The next time he went to work, he was enlisted to ask Korie Devine to do a cameo for his movie. She was to play a buxom bar owner in one of the scenes. After work he went over to her house, but then noticed smoke rising from his own home down the street.

Normally, if a fire happens on the home lot, the camera pans to it, but it didn't this time, and it looks like it has been burning quite awhile. I blame Lashanda as I distinctly remember Santo pulling burnt waffles from the oven before going to work. Korie came over to see what was wrong.

"Oh, my!"

Luckily, Santo managed to call the fire department before he passed out (coward trait).

It was apparently a two-alarm fire as two fire trucks arrived along with two fire fighters.

They put the fire out just as Lashanda came home from work. She brushed the whole thing off and went to bed.

Korie complained about her day, telling Santo that she broke a heel off her favorite pumps.

The firefighter in the background was stuck. I reset her, but she came back again, even though the fire was already put out.

Everything is in disarray: stray dogs hanging out, bills on the ground, raccoon knocking over the trash can and going through the trash, broken outhouse, burnt out kitchen and entryway . . . .

Santo tried and tried to get Korie in a better mood, so he could bring up the cameo idea, but she was not very receptive. He even tried a friendly pillow fight.

Apparently Korie can dish it out, but she can't take it today.

Santo, not having a stellar day himself, became so frustrated that he lost his temper with her, and he was rewarded with the famous Korie Devine slap!

This sent him running and screaming like a little girl.

Korie must have felt bad about her behavior, because she went out and helped him by picking up his garbage can.

The next day, Santo noticed that someone had moved into Virginia Thompson's old house across the street and went to investigate.

The new inhabitant happens to be the first real witch in town. His name is Zachary Ezell.

Zachary is a neurotic, excitable, hydrophobic, spellcaster with leanings toward being a perfectionist and a daredevil.  Personally, I think this is the guy Daisy Kadukin should be pursuing as he's more age appropriate, and she wants to become a witch. It turns out she has other plans, as Santo was soon to find out. But we'll come back to this.

The next day, Santo visited the Fillmore residence once again and found Korie in a much better mood. This time she didn't get mad when pillow fighting.

She accepted the offer of appearing in a cameo in Santo's movie, and even invited him to stay for dinner.

Korie asked him if he was considering settling down and starting a family. As his love interest is beyond childbearing age, Santo didn't quite know how to respond. I wasn't playing Santo anymore but instead was turning my focus on the Fillmores. Santo overstayed his welcome. When Korie woke up in the morning, Santo was still there. He had slept in the lounge chair outside. She asked him why he didn't go home and sleep in a comfortable bed.

He said he was mulling over the conversation they had the night before, and despite being crazy for Daisy, he realized he really did want to be a father someday.

He was wondering if he should call things off with Daisy. Korie said she wanted to stay out of it as that was a personal decision, and she didn't know him well enough to advise him. Annabel was less hospitable when she woke up and found Santo still there.

"Hey lame-brain! Don't you know when to leave? You're so rude!"

"Well, who's being rude now?" he retorted. Maggie also thought it was weird that Santo stayed over, but chose to keep her own counsel.

Prom's coming around again and the Fillmore girls are scrambling to find dates. Maggie Stone was tiring of William Russo and being a supernatural skeptic, wanted nothing to do with his mother the fairy. She found Ricardo Velenez attractive, so she paid a visit to the boys home to see if he would go to the prom with her.

He said "Yes!!!" So she took out her phone and sent a break-up text to William Russo. She soon learned that the boys seldom were unsupervised around young ladies who visited the boys' home as either Father Oliver or Father Tim tended to hover around acting as chaperones.

I think the other boys were jealous that Ricardo found a date and they didn't yet.  Father Tim tried to impress Miss Stone by sharing his knowledge of video gaming.

Jason Smith was trying to get on supernatural skeptic Maggie's good side by discussing his fear of dragons, when the doorbell rang.

It was Ginny Guthrie, a military recruiter. Apparently Father Tim had invited her over to discuss the vast career opportunities offered by the military.

Jason told Maggie that he was seriously considering becoming an astronaut someday.

Trevor didn't seem to understand how anyone would want to leave planet Earth, and Maggie said she thought he did this vicariously through video games all the time.

Of all the boys, Jason was the most interested in a career in the military. After Ginny's presentation, he asked her if she was part of the military police. She replied that she was actually a member of the military band and that she had opportunities to perform all over the country.

Trevor was thinking he would rather just stay home. After Ginny left, Maggie and Ricardo managed to sneak away for a quick water balloon fight before she headed home.

The next day, Maggie told Tracy and Annabel that she had broken up with William and was going to the dance with Ricardo instead. Annabel was thrilled having had a crush of William for quite some time. She worked up the nerve to pay him a visit.

She told him she hoped he wasn't too disappointed that Maggie broke up with him, then expressed her fondness for him and asked if he would go to prom with her.  He said yes.

Oddly enough she stayed past curfew and the police came to get her, even though she was in the house and both William's parents were home.

Korie and Cliff hadn't even been aware that she was out late. They were out on their own date. They went to the park and toured the supernatural archives because Korie wanted to do some research on the supernatural for the part she was hoping to get for Demon Slasher of the Vampires. She was hoping for the supporting roll of Demon Slasher's mother, Corrine the queen of the vampires. Cliff soon left her to it and went to play in the water.

He had to change quickly, so he and Korie could make it to Santo's party. At the party, Santo's resolve to call it off with Daisy wavered. What is it about his woman that has all the young men fawning over her?

Meanwhile Korie and Cliff, having a bit too much to drink, woohoo'd in Santo's filthy outhouse.

They got home later than Annabel and seemed none the wiser that the police had brought her home.

Poor Cliff had a rude awakening the next morning when he discovered that Maggie and Tracy had sabotaged the master bathroom.

Okay girls, fun's over. Time to clean up your mess.

Now that both Maggie and Annabelle both have dates, let's focus on Tracy. Tracy, it turns out, has Jason Smith as a romantic interest, so she decided to take a jog up to his place and ask him out. She was a bit smelly from her workout, and this was not lost on Jason.

Nevertheless, he agreed to go to the prom with her.

I was curious about Boyd Medley and his niece Lakeshia South. Did Boyd really have a boat now, or was he just renting one? Does Lakeshia know Trevor? Maybe she could ask him out to the prom. It turns out that Boyd must have been renting the boat as he doesn't have one in his inventory or in his garage. I found him working on an ice sculpture.

As for Lakeshia, it seems she is romantically interested in Ricardo, Maggie's date, so I didn't have her approach Trevor, but instead go to the prom alone. At the prom she got into two fights, one of them was because she was eyeing another person's date. Hmmm. . . .

Boyd is currently a busker, and was offered an opportunity to befriend Santo Bobo to improve his celebrity status. He invited Santo out to dinner and drinks, but who should they run into than Daisy Kadukin and her new husband Jack Ransone! Poor Santo didn't know what to think and made himself scarce while Boyd decided to buy a round of drinks for the couple.

It's time for Santo to find a new, younger girlfriend.

I moved Daisy into the military housing with Jack, but they don't seem that happy there. They want a home of their own. I think I'll try Plumbella's randomizer challenge and build them a home. Meanwhile that sketchy Roger Kadukin, Daisy's faux grandson, is in possession of her house.
