Adventureland #18 - The new park; Virginia and Carlo sitting in a tree . . . and Alex's first party since returning to Beaumont House.
The town council finally got around to approving the plans for a centralized recreational park, and it went up, seemingly overnight. It features a building that houses the supernatural archives, an arboretum, a Founder's Fountain and chess area, a kid's play area, picnic area, public restrooms, and a community pool. (I forgot to add outdoor lighting, but that has since been remedied.)
The building houses the changing rooms/bathrooms and a lunch counter. There are outdoor showers along the back side of the building.
I used moveObjects to hide a lawn sprinkler in the splash pad area's biggest fountain, but now I can't turn it on. I may have to re-think that. I wanted the sims to play in the fountains. The fountains and sandbox are meant for the toddlers. I also placed a snowcone machine outside in case kids didn't want full meals but just a cool treat. I sent Virginia and Tommy Thompson over to playtest it.
What are you boys doing?!? Go play with Tommy! Study at home! Virginia stayed for a little while, then she autonomously went to the arboretum to talk to baby's breath. Does she want another child? She's supposed to dislike children.
As mentioned in the last installment, it appears that Virginia and Carlo have autonomously developed a romance, so after Tommy went to sleep, I had her send a Woohoo text to Carlo. He said he'd be right over. Then he said he didn't want to use protection. Virginia agreed. After all, what could go wrong?
Virginia made Carlo one happy man!
He was too wired to go to sleep right away, so he stayed up and read and played the guitar.
A few days later, Virginia received a party invitation from Alexander Beaumont. He must be celebrating getting his estate back. She said she'd be there, and I was curious to see one of his parties from the guests' point of view as this is the first one I didn't set up. Would people show up, or would it be a snooze like so many so-called parties sometimes are? It occurred on the night of a full moon, . . .
Virginia didn't seem bothered by this.
This time, the party was held upstairs in the game room rather than in the ballroom.
The party attendees included Sonyia Sw0rd (who was also zombified), Anwar and Dina Russo, Daisy Kadukin, Denny Pyle, and Santo Bobo. Sally was also there, playing the role of hostess.
Daisy Kadukin has the knack for casting some sort of spell on men younger than her, despite having no supernatural powers. Here she is slow dancing with Anwar Russo, and I've been notified via Story Progression that she and Jack Ransone are getting married! I thought I had safely broken them up and Jack was now interested in Eunice Goddard, the female werewolf. It looks like Daisy won him over. I think it's time for that sketchy Roger Kadukin to find other housing - either that, or I guess Daisy can move to the military housing to live with Jack. Hmmm. . . what to do.
In other news, I was also notified that, after years of living together and raising their son together, Zac Whipsnake has finally stopped spurning poor Sonyia's romantic overtures and asked her to marry him! I don't know if it was Gwen Wonzy who talked some sense into him, but I like to think so.
They were talking about something over at the business building and parted with a friendly hug.
Also, it has been reported that Jaron Belanger (the magician) and Natalia Cheek (the acrobat) also got married. Maybe they can start their own circus! But I digress, back to the party.
Virginia was deeply involved in a rousing game of dominos with Anwar and Daisy, when it occurred to her . . . she was pregnant! (Time for a costume change.)
