Clary Saga 4 - Stefanie at University

It's been awhile since I dropped in on the Clary family. When I left off, Stefanie had just had a birthday and was thinking about college. I decided to send her. I signed her up for 12 credits, (6 per term) but when all was said and done, she had only earned 6 credits because I wasn't paying attention to the days, and she missed one of her finals because she had been out partying until the wee hours of the morning. But here's how it went over all.

I have never had a rich sim attend college, and figure Stefanie is a debutante type, so I placed her in the sorority. She spent the first night excited for her new adventure and looking forward to new parties and new experiences.

But in the cold light of day, she began to have misgivings.

While having breakfast she started to feel overwhelmed due to her unstable trait and had to blow into a bag to calm herself down before heading off to class.

The first day went okay, but the professor didn't show, so the lazy students slept while the others started going through their new course books, outlining the first chapters.

Having stayed up late bonding over the bonfire with her sorority sisters, Stefanie found herself drifting off . . .

After class, she went to the library to read some of from her course book. There she met some other students, including Kyle Heilman (the redhead). They became friends.

Later, she went to the bowling alley, where she met Hank Macklamoor, a fairy, and they bowled together.

It turns out there are a lot of supernaturals at the school. They should call it Monster University. Of her sorority sisters, Ashely DeSorrento is a vampire, Samantha Grey is a werewolf, . . .

Paris Vanderbilt is a witch . . .

and Ye Gangram is a fairy.

Ye had tried to play a fairy trick on Stefanie, and it backfired, so she never liked Stefanie after that. However, despite a few missteps,

Stefanie did manage to accumulate a lot of friends. Her best friend is Carey Templeton, her roommate.

They both seem to enjoy the outdoors, and like going out and playing Frisbie when they can both break free from their studies. On this particular afternoon they were accompanied by a couple other sorority sisters, and Stefanie cooked up some hot dogs.

After the other girls left, Stefanie took a jog around Senior Pond, and came upon Kyle Heilman's house. She dropped in to say "hi."

She was sweaty and stinky, so she thought she's slip down to the basement bathroom and take a quick bath. She wasn't sneaky enough, and Kyle walked in on her.

"Jeez, Stef! Can't a guy use his own sink without winding up in an awkward situation?!"

"I'm so sorry! It will never happen again!"

Stefanie flirted with Kyle a bit, and while he was tempted, he admitted he had a girlfriend named Gabby. So Stefanie thought better of it and went home to write a love letter to her hometown honey, JC Costa.

Deep down, she really thinks he's the one, even though he is a loner and doesn't like crowds.

The next morning, Stefanie experienced the same misgivings about whether she belonged at university, especially when she's surrounded by all these gifted supernaturals and her being a mere human. Take some deep breaths, Steph, you've got this.

Stefanie likes to go out for a snack after class. It was there she ran into Kyle's girlfriend Gabby. She wanted to make sure Gabby was the right girl for her friend Kyle, so she applied the rubber duck test.

Gabby proved to have a good sense of humor and passed the duck test. Stefanie was satisfied that Gabby was a good girlfriend choice for Kyle. In fact, she and Gabby became closer friends than she and Kyle ever were.

As time progressed and Stefanie was reassured by her guidance counselor that she belonged at University, Stefanie seemed to have fewer panic attacks, but they didn't go away completely.

She worked up the gumption to throw a party for her friends and acquaintances out at the old drive-in movie theater. It seemed to be a popular hangout as there were several people there prior to her friends arriving.

It was here that she met Jeffrey Dean.

After this party, he called her all the time and they became good friends. She also met Miles Forthright, and felt a slight attraction to him.

This was the party that ruined Stefanie's first term. She missed taking her final the following morning.

That weekend, she decided to forget her worries and woes and go to the beach with her friends, where they enjoyed a rousing game of gnubb, soaked up the rays, did a little fishing, and ate Paris' horrific burnt salmon.

One guy, who looks like Kyle, but isn't, (he doesn't have a beard like Kyle does) started quizzing Carey about Stefanie.

He wanted to know if Stefanie was single, and if Carey thought she'd go out with him. Carey tried to let him down easy, telling him she had a boyfriend back home, so probably not.

The guy didn't believe her and called her a liar.

Stefanie, was oblivious to this whole interaction, having found some plants to harvest. Botany is her favorite branch of science.

There's a spot on the map across from where Stefanie was fishing that intrigues me. It's an island and there aren't any lots on it, but it has an old fallen-down dock and some fishing spawners. I wonder if sims can swim or boat over to the island.

It looks like a lot can be placed there as there's a fairly flat area. Before I could investigate further, the weather changed and the gang left in a downpour.

Back at home, the girls were struggling to keep the house clean and hired a maid. The maid wasn't worth that much, however.

Clothes were being dropped all over the common areas, and while that might be normal for a frat house, I felt the sorority girls would have more class than that so I placed a few hampers discretely in those areas. Here's a trick I learned from YouTuber Tedhi. You can use MoveObjects to place a hamper inside some of the desk height furniture, and it will look like a basket sitting on top of the desk.

Sims can still use the desk, small objects can be placed inside the basket, (i.e. books, dirty dishes) . . .

and it still works as a hamper.

What's got Samantha's goat?

I guess the powder room toilet is clogged up again. It was constantly dirty and/or clogged.

As the next term rolled around, Stefanie vowed to do better in her academics. She did a lot of studying and learning outside of the classroom, and even made a scientific breakthrough!

Her friend Gabby was always a willing test subject for her science projects. She helped her with a psychology project that Stefanie eventually presented to her class.

She called JC and let him know what was going on in her life.

It wasn't all work and no play for Stefanie, however. She still made her rounds to the parties.

In fact, she once was dared to kiss another sim. She decided that Jeffrey Dean would be the safest bet.

He loved the attention. Perhaps it was this vampire chick who issued the dare as she was sure sticking her nose into their business.

Stefanie's giving her that "I told you I would do it" kind of look.

Then this nerdy guy came up and started talking about the space program.

It was getting late, and Stefanie had class the next morning, so she gave Jeffrey a hug, and they parted as romantic interests. Let's hope JC never hears about this.

I was doing some people watching while Stefanie was boning up on anatomy the next day. I was thrilled to see Shasha Parks. She was the wife of my 3rd gen LEPacy heir. (I played the packs out of order, so University was the second pack I used.) It appears Shasha's grandma is trying to play matchmaker and set her up with Scot Macklamoor, but Shasha thought he was being pushy.

It looks like grandma thinks Scot is good father material.

Shasha, on the other hand, wants him to back off.

"But I have your grandma's blessing!"

Scot was also accosted by another student (I forgot his name) who wanted Scot to take an exam for him.

"How can you even suggest such a thing! I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that vulgar suggestion!"

"You should be ashamed of yourself! What would your parents think!"

Just before the end of the term, Stefanie got the idea to leave her mark on the place.

I thought she would just tag the wall since she's never done any street art before, but instead she put up a mural. Unfortunately, she has acquired a one-star celebrity status while away at college, and her attempt to be leave the work anonymous failed. It will most likely be in the society section by morning. What will her mother think!

It's probably a good thing the term is almost over. People are getting on each other's last nerve back at the house. Riley, despite being the snootiest, best dressed, member of the household tends to neglect personal hygiene, and Shannon is starting to take issue with it.

Shannon's attitude isn't just extended to Riley, however.

She went to the park with Stefanie and Carey. What's up with you, Shannon? I checked her traits, and there doesn't seem to be anything there to explain the mean-spirited behavior.

Maybe she's jealous because Stefanie is so skilled at this game.

Or maybe she wanted to play too, and doesn't have the social skills to ask nicely. Whatever her problem is, it apparently attracted the attention of the extraterrestrials.

I don't know what happened up there, but whatever it was traumatized poor Shannon.

To add insult to injury, the alien stole her bike! What a bully!

Stefanie's behavior hasn't been all that stellar lately either. You'd better watch yourself, Stefanie, you might be next!

The good news is that despite her rough start, Stefanie made the Dean's list and earned some college credit in science. Time to go home.
