Adventureland #6: Rocco gets a job; A brief visit with the Gann household.
Rocco Sample went to hangout with Jenni after she called and invited him over. (Here he is sporting his new look after I took him to CAS. All I did was darken his hair and give him some facial hair.)
They were doing well and were at the good friend level. He gave her a bottle of nectar he bought from the consignment store as a gift, which she graciously accepted.
Then he complemented her on having a physical education degree and turned around and insulted her intelligence! What a jerk! Their relationship started eroding. Maybe it didn't help that Natalia started cutting in and vying for his attention.
Rocco took advantage of the fact that they had martial arts training items and started working on martial arts skills.
He also had a wish to kiss Jenni, but he was still being a jerk, and their relationship was struggling, so I sent him home to get acquainted with his new roommate.
Rocco's roommate is Carlo Poe, an adventurous, excitable, irresistible and lucky bookworm with a touch of nerdiness. His lifetime wish is to become a great explorer. I'm wondering how well they will get along being Carlo is adventurous and Rocco is a couch potato and Carlo is excitable and Rocco is over emotional. I guess time will tell. But now it's time to move on and get to know the Gann household.
Geraldo and Graciela Gann live next door to the Pyles, the other elderly couple, so maybe they can get to be friends and do some fun couple things together. I think I mentioned their traits in an earlier post, so I think the ones that come to into play here are the fact that Graciela is a bookish, artistic mermaid and Rocco is an evil fairy and a loner. They seem quite taken with each other after all these years.
I had built a small corner grocery store because I was concerned that Graciela might not be able to find kelp otherwise. However, when I first switched to this household, Graciela only had about 20 sim minutes to get to sea water before she turned human. I didn't read it close enough and started her a bath, before I realized it has to be the ocean. They aren't the farthest from the beach, but they are rather distant. She was headed for the door when she transformed to human.
Oh, well, she wasn't too upset about it, so I won't be either. Graciela wanted to learn how to paint and Geraldo wanted to learn how to garden, so I sent them to the school to pick up these skills.
Then I sent them to check out the new grocery store. There aren't many venues in town, so it stands to reason that when a new one shows up, everyone in town gets excited. They made a regular party of it. Rocco decided to get a job here, apparently.
I might have to rethink the food register as most were treating it as a restaurant, but for now I adjusted it after the "grand opening" to have a picnic table outside and a small bistro table inside.
Left to right, top to bottom: Rocco Sample, Gerlado Gann, Roger Kadukin, Jaron Belanger, Virginia Thompson, Gwen Wonzy, and Graciela Gann.
Apparently Denny Pyle, the werewolf, is a celebrity. Inquiring minds will love to see him "wolf down" this berry pie. I don't think dancing was originally on the agenda, but to each his own.
Since Geraldo showed signs of wanting to be a criminal, and I have a mobster mod I want to try out, I was toying with building a laundromat with either a secret gambling den or a speakeasy, or a combo on both and adding the criminal rabbithole rug. But then I saw Tedhi's "cat jungle" version of the upstanding citizens warehouse, and downloaded that. I might still do the laundromat, but now it can wait for a bit.
Anyway, I sent Geraldo over to join the career, and while he was there he found a brick.
with a face on it.
It was love at first sight. "I'll love you, and hug you, . . .
and kiss you, . . .
and marry you!"
"Oh, my love! My soulmate! Life was but a mere shadow without you in it!"
