Adventureland #10 - The Sip N Paint party; dropping in on the Gann and the Pyle households.

Here's my first attempt at a Sip N Paint party at the art gallery. Overall, it went better than I expected. I sent the cadet ladies over and also invited Dina Russo. Natalia begged off due to fatigue and went to bed instead, but oddly enough, Dina and Jenni chose to paint the same thing, but Robin danced to the beat of a different drummer. None of them has the skill to paint from a photo, which I hope to get the to at a later time. Then they can photograph the bear and paint it. This was a good start though.

I did go back and make some changes to the lot afterward: adding a public speaker for music and some counters for the nectar as Jenni took the tray to the next room to set it down.  I also added some bar stools to the pub tables as it appears sims won't set the nectar trays down on them anyway.

Jenni had a few glasses of nectar throughout the course of the evening. I don't think Dina did. Robin chose a different refreshment.

She has gotten the negative moodlet (paper bag over the head) from being caught drinking from sims in public.

Meanwhile, I've been trying to get Jack to ask Daisy to "just be friends" because she is showing as a love interest, and she's way too old for him. He's surrounded by attractive women his own age both at work and at home, and I don't know why he hasn't taken a romantic interest in any of them. I knew he'd find Daisy at the beach tending the concession stand, so I had him and Robin hang out there while he tried to break off the romantic affections with Daisy. But Daisy refused to speak to him unless he was buying something to eat.

Even after he bought something and they were able to talk, the "just be friends" option didn't show up anywhere, so I guess they are stuck with each other for now. Meanwhile, I had forgotten that, being a vampire, Robin shouldn't be out in the sun for very long.

She was smokin' but she made it home in time to avoid burning up and/or starving from lack of plasma.

Moving on to the Gann household . . .

Geraldo is still enamored of his brick,

but he takes time to do other things as well, like work on his garden or attend parties and play kicky bag.

He taught his dog to hunt as well. He seems to have decided that the criminal career wasn't for him. (I swear I had him join up, which was how he found the brick in the first place, but he's unemployed now.)

While Graciela has been wanting to become an award-winning author, she has been focusing on painting lately. Maybe she also wants to illustrate her books. She has a running theme in her artwork so far . . .

Her obsession with asteroids and little green men might be an indication that she has a sixth sense and should consider fortunetelling as a possible career. After finishing this painting and turning in for the night, they had a visitor.

He seemed harmless enough, and only checked out the kinds of flowers that were around the outside of the house.

The little dog was the only one awake during this visit.

They got along okay, however.

The visitor had enough foresight to bring dog treats, apparently. It seems that the Pyles and Ganns don't know each other very well despite being neighbors and all being elders. I'll need to fix that.

I wanted to take a cat over to the cat jungle/criminal rabbithole to try it out, and the Pyles have a cat, Nova, so I went there next.

I had to make a couple changes after playtesting the lot - just minor things, like tables being replaced because I didn't have the one Tedhi used to make there controls of the conveyor belt (a square table with a chess board inside it.) There was also a skip level marker that was causing me some frustration, and I can't see or access the cat condo unless I'm in build/buy buydebug mode for some reason. But Nova had a lot of fun just the same.

In fact, she ate and slept there, and there was no real reason for her to go home. I eventually sent her as she didn't seem to want to leave.

When I first switched over to the Pyles, I found Naomi over at the Russo house acting the rude guest.

He seems angry, but hearts were flying on his side, so this must have turned him on.

She set him straight, though.

He had some nerve, acting this way when the kids were home.

I think little Dayna is trying to sell Naomi some tickets to the school play.

As for Naomi's husband Denny, he's working on his keyboard skills and growling at the neighbor's dog. Nothing too earthshaking on that front.

It's been awhile since I dropped in on Jaron and Eunice on Waterfall Way. Jaron is already a sculptor, so maybe he can be my found objects artist who sells things at the art gallery. I think I'm going to have to do some tricky stuff with the lot in order to make that happen, however. I'll see what I can come up with.
