LEPacy Gen 10: the move to Starlight Shores

There's been quite a hiatus what with the EA App debacle and the fact that my game kept crashing because the town of Roseward just got to big and busy for my RAM to handle. But it's back, and I didn't even need to start it as a new game . . . yet.

"Hi dad, sorry I left so suddenly; it's just that Mandi's mom got transferred to the hospital here in Starlight Shores and Mandi was taking her kids (one of them being my kid too) and moving with her. I was only a day from graduation anyway, you know. Yeah, I graduated here. They awarded me the 'Most Likely to be Mediocre' award. But they don't know me. I just know I'm going to make it big here. I have decided to be an acrobat. I know you were hoping I'd join the crime family like you,  but it just isn't me. Neither is the other extreme of being a law enforcement officer like Mom.

Right now Mandi is working on finishing high school, and her mother Tawana is working a lot of late hours, so I'm home taking care of the girls. They are really sweet, though, and I know that soon my time will come to work on my career. Yes, they do poop a lot and are hungry a lot. I'm trying to teach Jolene to walk and potty train her. She's my little buddy, but she has really scary eyebrows. They must have come from Christopher's side of the family as I haven't seen those eyebrows on Mandi's side. As for my little Olga, what can I say? She's a baby, and I don't know what kind of personality she's going to have."

Recap on the current family:

Cooper Gains - the heir. Loves the heat, hydrophobic, easily impressed, natural born performer, and as he reached adulthood, a dog person. His lifetime wish is lifestyle of the rich and famous, meaning he'd have at least 100,000 simoleons and achieve 5 star celebrity level. Cooper turned into a young adult about a day after they arrived in Starlight Shores. Also, he is part imaginary friend - something he inherited through his grandmother, then father. This means he can turn into toy form, which might come in handy in his acrobatic career.

Tawana was excited for him. "At last! another potential breadwinner for the family." But the rest of the family couldn't give a rip. Tawana's traits are adventurous, clumsy, genius, commitment issues, and friendly. I'm going to use the commitment issues as the reason she moved here without her husband and younger daughter. Tawana works hard and is often stresses out and exhausted, but still seems to like her job.

Mandi is insane, excitable, a bookworm, and friendly. She seems pretty devoted to completing her homework each night, and wants to be a stylist when she graduates.

Cooper has been an amazingly good dad despite the fact that one of these girls isn't his biological child, and he doesn't have the family-oriented or nurturing traits.

Once Olga aged up, Cooper started teaching her to talk.

He taught Jolene to walk.

Most of his days were consumed with child care and housework, but he didn't seem to mind. The day came that both Mandi and Jolene aged up. Cooper was looking forward to this day as he planned to ask Mandi to marry him when she graduated, and Jolene would be that much more fun to play with as she would be older and able to do more.

Jolene aged up with the shy trait, probably due to those eyebrows. Mandi, oddly enough after giving birth to two babies from two different guys while in high school, suddenly decided she dislikes children. It looks like most of the child-rearing is going to fall to Cooper. Mandi graduated the next day.

She hung her "Most Likely to Offend Others" award next to Cooper's "Most Likely to be Mediocre" award.

The family celebrated by going to the fall festival, where Cooper finally got to try his hand at entertaining for tips.

He had a few missteps, but overall he did well for a first time. He earned 24 simoleons in tips. Jolene was his number-one fan.

The family had been in Starlight Shores for several days, and still no one had made it next door to meet the neighbors. Cooper decided to leave the kids with Tawana and do just that. On one side is a guy with the last name Anderson. He is a slob by the looks of his house, and he associates with Kristin Law, who is a local criminal. She was playing video games while Cooper learned that the Anderson guy works in the science career. This guy might be a little childish by the looks of the house.  The family met Kristin Law the first day as she came over to meet them as they moved in.

She looks like someone you wouldn't want to mess with.
The Woods family lives on the other side. The family consists of Brandon Woods, his wife Stardust, his daughter August, and baby Terrence. (Baby Terrence didn't have a crib, so I gave them one.)

I'm assuming Stardust is responsible for the décor of the house. It's very colorful, and I love it! Cooper tried to spend some time getting to know August.

He seems to have zoned out as she discussed her interest in bugs.

and the high school gossip.

He tried to act interested. Then he asked Stardust for some recipes as he only knows how to make pancakes, waffles, and mac & cheese. He tried to make Goopy Carbonara when they first moved in, but he set the kitchen on fire.

Then Cooper decided to entertain them with a ghost story.

They were startled when the doorbell rang.

It was Ariella Chen. Cooper took the opportunity to get to know her a little as well.

They talked mostly about the change in the weather, but Cooper walked away with some new friends.

He went home and read a logic book with Jolene.

It put her right to sleep.

Then, Cooper thought he would attempt Goopy Carbonara again. After all, he has learned a little more about cooking since the last time he tried to make it.

Another fail! No more Goopy Carbonara making for you! While this was going on, an alien ship suddenly parked outside!

I think the chaos scared them off, however, as they took off as the fire truck approached.

Little Olga was wondering what all the fuss was about. (It looks like the firefighter broke a finger 😆)

All's well that ends well.
