Elton John inspired Legacy or storylines.
Elton John inspired legacy
I don’t know if you’d really call this a challenge as it’s more of a series of suggested storylines inspired by the songs of Elton John. Many of his songs have names and/or genders attached to them, but most of these can be adjusted to your liking. In some cases, these storylines don’t even have to be connected, but can exist as separate households and played rotationally.
As with any good song, most of these feature people who struggle with love relationships, but most can also go through these struggles then live happily ever after if you like. These can be played in any order, but some just make sense following each other - for instance Nikita lives in a very confining and oppressive world, so it makes sense that Skyline Pigeon about breaking free and traveling far and wide would follow. Also Levon has a child who “wants to go to Venus, leaving Levon far behind,” so it follows that Rocketman would be the logical scenario to follow.
Nikita -lives in an oppressive, confining world; winter most of the time; finds a lover who is a “tourist” but can’t stay. Has a baby with “tourist,” and keeps up a relationship with the tourist via phone, letters, and/or internet. “Nikita”carves out a life for themself and their child. (I’m picturing Bleake Islands by SimmyRN.)
Skyline Pigeon -child of “Nikita”; oppressive government falls when they reach YA state; They break free to travel the world. They visit all three WA worlds at least once, and at least three other “exotic” locations either store worlds or CC worlds. Perhaps they become a professional freelance photographer/photo-journalist.
Crocodile Rock/ Bennie and the Jets -child of “Skyline Pigeon” - through teen years forms a garage band with at least one crush in the band. This group disbands as they reach young adulthood and heir goes on to form another band as a young adult - outrageous costumes and make-up/glam band. They may achieve some success, but by the time the heir reaches adulthood, they settle into a “responsible job” (rabbithole job).
Tiny Dancer (The heir, child of the rock-n-roller, grows up to be a groupie of musicians and has commitment issues. They are a free spirit type, perhaps a stylist or tattoo artist. Enter a sim who has nothing to do with the music industry, who falls for “Tiny Dancer” and becomes the “heir” from that point on. They have a whirlwind romance and possibly produce a child, but the relationship doesn’t last. The heir then moves to the country to raise the child in a more wholesome environment.)
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road ( Child of heir leaves the farm and moves to the city where they fall for a wealthy person who treats them as a “trophy” or “boy-toy” creating a toxic relationship before ditching the heir who then has to rebuild their life and either raise a child fathered by the wealthy person or produce a child with another sim once recovered from the bad break-up.)
Saturday Night’s Alright (for fighting) - (heir grows up a “wild-child” who has a proclivity for partying and fighting, getting into a bar brawl every Saturday night. Makes friends with similar party-animal, mean-spirited traits. Eventually produces a child whose main goal is to become a famous actor or other performer.
Candle in the Wind - This heir struggles with their own success and being used by the entertainment industry. They produce two children but have difficulty maintaining romantic relationships. They die when the oldest child is a teen or young adult and the youngest is still a child or teen respectively.
Daniel - The oldest child sacrifices their own dreams to raise their sibling. They do manage to take a couple vacations in a Spain-like world (or Monte Vista) and fall in love with the place. As soon as the younger sibling is a young adult, the oldest moves to the country of their dreams, leaving the younger sibling behind. (Choose which sibling you want for your heir and continue with their storyline.)
Little Jeanie - “Jeanie,” child of the heir you chose, falls for an older sim who can’t commit to them (they are either married to their job or married to someone else.) “Jeanie” has the hopeless romantic trait and the other sim might be a workaholic or family oriented sim, depending on your choice of the reason these two can’t be together as a family. “Jeanie” eventually has a child with this sim or adopts a child once they realize the relationship will not end the way they want it to.
Levon - “Jeanie’s” child grows up to become a merchant and maybe even sells balloons in town. They will marry and have a child who wants to be an astronaut or space explorer. This child will be sent to “the finest school” even if that is a private boarding school. “Levon” also “likes his money, and makes a lot they say,” so they will cultivate a grove of money trees. Family-oriented sim.
Rocket Man- As soon as “Rocket Man” is old enough, they move out of their parents’ house and throw their energy into becoming an astronaut or space explorer. Their goal is to get their own spaceship and/or explore other worlds (Lunar Lakes, Oasis Landing and/or a custom world such as Moon Base Delta or Bellatrix by Rflong7)
Bad Side of the Moon- “Rocket Man” has a family on another planet and at least one of those children becomes stranded there and cannot return to Earth. Like their ancestor “Nikita,” They need to carve out a life for themself while living in exile.
