LEPacy Challenge: Gen 9 -10 - Life with Mitzi

The previous post was getting a little long, and I already posted this slice-of-life on Facebook, so I thought I would just rehash it here to make LEPacy story complete. This involves minor characters who are not heirs, but what occurred cracked me up, so I wanted to document it.

As stated earlier, Mitzi is Athena's kid sister, now a teen, and pregnant with one boy's child while romantically involved with another.

This was all Story Progression's doing, not mine. I basically watched and interpreted the following events.

Mitzi chose to move in with Athena rather than live at home with her mother. The reason is unclear at this point. Regan, Athena's new husband and Mitzi's former 5th grade teacher, is supportive of having Athena in the house and is rather protective as he knows she has made some bad decisions which have led to her current predicament. (She isn't saying who the father is, maybe she doesn't know either?)

One day Rafael, Mitzi's boyfriend came to the door and rang the bell . . .

Regan was dismayed to see what he had become. Rafael had been such a good kid and so full of promise back when he was Regan's student.
"Rafael, I must say I am disappointed! You had such a bright future, yet you have turned to a life of crime?!?"

However, Rafael was indeed a bright young man; he thought up a lie and he thought it up quick!
"Erm . . ."

"Trick or treat!"

"Oh, silly me! Is it Spooky Day already?  I've been away on my honeymoon, and I guess I didn't realize how much time had passed. My apologizes, Rafael, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions.

"I'll go back to my office and leave you two kids to visit. Carry on."

"Poor guy! He doesn't realize its still summer. I wonder how long it will take for that to sink in? You were brilliant, by the way," giggled Mitzi.

"I just came by to tell you that Uncle Gus has a quick delivery for me to make this afternoon. I'll be back this evening and we can hang out, okay?"

"Great! bring your homework, and I'll help you with that essay that's due tomorrow."

A short while after Rafael left, Mitzi went into labor while eating some leftover wedding cake.

"I think my water just broke!" she wailed.

"Mr. Cahill! Quit panicking and get me to the hospital! Are you okay to drive?"

"I just know I'm going to be stuck raising this baby while Mitzi is at school! Why did I agree to let her move in? This is really going to slow my progress toward being an international super spy!" fumed Athena.

By the time Rafael showed up in the evening, Mitzi was the mother of a sweet baby boy she named Archer.

"A baby!" Rafael moaned, "What are we going to do with a baby?"

"No matter, we'll face our obstacles head-on!" he resolved. (I don't think he's aware that he isn't the baby's father.)

I added an extension above the garage to accommodate the growing family.

Mitzi settled the baby in bed, and started to help Rafael with his essay on Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment

"Still don't know how this crap is going to be relevant to my future career," Rafael groused. "I'm getting sleepy. I should go home soon."

To be continued . . . .
