LEPacy Challenge: Appearance of Gen 10 and Gustav's very bad week.
Spring has arrived in Roseward, a time of rebirth and newness.
It finally happened! Athena found out she was pregnant! She broke the news to Gus.
Along came little Cooper, born with his father's hydrophobic trait and a love for heat. His favorite color was yellow, so they redecorated his pink bedroom. The plan for Cooper, should he be the heir, is to have one romantic relationship/marriage and produce three children, then that partner will leave the picture, and he will take in a platonic helper, either a friend or relative, as a roommate to help take care of the kids, but they will not be romantically involved. He will join either the private investigator career, like his mother did when she was younger, or he will become an actor. He will reach the 5 star celebrity level, and will have a trait that conflicts with his profession (i.e. absent-minded PI, shy actor). Since I already have Late Night activated and have already been to Bridgeport, I will activate Showtime, and he will probably move to Starlight Shores when he is older. I'll just make a few adjustments to the town - adding the appropriate rabbbithole.
But right now, the focus is on the parents, who are both dead-set on sabotaging their careers. First, Athena autonomously went up to Fluffs (Gus's imaginary friend from his younger days) at the Central Station Café and began insulting him while Jerimiah Henderson, a local thug, was ordering his burrito.
First, she insulted his intelligence, then she insulted his home. (Reports came in that his living situation was sub-standard and his family will have to move soon if it's not fixed. I assume he has too many kids and not enough beds.) Then, since she was due for a fight anyway, I escalated it to a knock-down-drag-out.
Trust me dude, you don't want to mess with her, or you'll be next! Here's where the problem lies: Fluffs is clearly in the law enforcement career which makes him Athena's coworker. In addition, he is MARRIED TO HER BOSS! So in essence she not only beat up her boss's husband, but she also insulted her boss's home. I'm not sure if this will negatively affect Athena's job performance, but it should!
One thing that does negatively affect job performance is embezzlement as Gus quickly found out when he tried to steal money from the campaign fund at work and was caught. He was immediately fired. I found him in the unemployment office, looking for another job. He wants to keep this incident from Athena as she's a cop.
He found a sketchy crew who base their operation at the Rustler's Den, which is out in the boonies. They were looking for a driver to help them in their line of business. He decided to take the job. He will have to tell Athena that his hours have shifted to the night shift, and he may be out of town on business occasionally. It might work out well as he can be home in the daytime taking care of Cooper and she can be there at night. They won't need a sitter.
It was a day before he had to start work, but Gus already knew one person from the crew as Athena had arrested him a couple times. He called Jerimiah Henderson up and asked if he wanted to hang out an shoot some pool over at Mystic Row. He met Jerimiah there and quickly learned the Jerimiah had a proclivity for gambling. Gus found gambling to be very addicting and couldn't stop - not even to go to the restroom. In the end he lost 30 simoleons and wet himself in front of his new coworker. "Wait until the crew hears about this!" Jerimiah cackled. Losing money gambling is another thing he will not tell his wife about.
Poor Gus is often in the red moodwise when he's at work. He has an assignment to go to France and deliver a package. He'll need to take that "business trip" soon.
It wasn't long until little Cooper had his birthday. Because the house was so small, the family decided to just have a cake at home.
Catastrophe!
Athena calmly shielded Cooper while Gus put out the fire. A firefighter arrived to help (and wouldn't leave so I had to reset the town).
It wasn't too long later that the stereo broke, and Gus thought he could fix it. It didn't work out as he planned. He was so frustrated, he considered stealing candy from Cooper.
Athena has advanced to the level in her career where she needs to start writing reports on people. She has been sifting through her neighbors' trash and uncovered some interesting tidbits. Apparently the scuffle with Fluffs hasn't affected her life - yet. (I have a plan.) The people she really needs to investigate are the Dumbledores who live in their cud de sac. They have strangers coming and going at odd hours of the night.
Mrs. D always comes out and greets them warmly and invites them in. She works in the medical career if I remember correctly. Elvin, her husband, is a politician and a best friend to Gus. I think he's crooked and probably was aware of Gus's embezzlement but looked the other way. I suspect his wife is selling drugs she has lifted from the hospital stores, but that's just my theory.
While a lot of things are going wrong for the Gains clan, there is a bright spot: the spring festival is in town and is fun for all.
