It's Day 13 in Salmon Woods, which is a very nice town - a lot of thought has been put into the builds, but it's a little laggy on my old laptop. Polly, Maxwell, and Kyngston are adapting well and making friends.
Polly met the university mascot, Gus Creech, and he asked her out on a date.
They had a good time, but Polly relegated him to the "friend zone" - mostly because I get really tired of my sims breaking out into school cheers every time they find themselves unoccupied, and this happens when they get too involved with the mascot. While on a date with Gus, Polly met Sergio Allred, and ditched Gus to hang out with him. They went to the festival and competed with each other in the pie-eating contest.
Polly won, and Sergio puked.
They then went to an empty bar and decided to make their own fun by jamming together.
Polly was really getting into it.
Sergio was casting her seductive glances, but the effect was spoiled by the pie-face.
Sergio too was sent to the "friend zone."
Another man, Al Ramos-Fritz became the one in whom Polly formed a romantic interest.
She met him at the library, and they had an immediate connection.
There are some obstacles to this relationship, however. First, the guy is married to Darcy, whom Polly wants to befriend, but Polly also wants her husband - awkward.
I don't think she likes you, Polly.
The other possible obstacle to this relationship became evident when Polly looked out her window one night with a full moon and spotted Al walking past her house.
The guy is clearly keeping a secret from her.
Polly has one other guy friend who I assume is a cousin: Shaun Maloney. They both like music and are considering forming a band.
Now if they could only get an audience! Despite the fact that this town is full of people, and the "town council" is squawking about how we need more housing, very few people come to the bars.
Polly has made some female friends as well. Her best gal-pal has the last name Dutton. (Her first name escapes me at the moment.) They like to hang out now and then.

Now for an update on Maxwell. The city council has recognized his talent as a painter, and has commissioned 15 paintings to be delivered to the city hall. He's got about 11 done now. I like the way the things he paints seem related to what's going on in his life. For instance, I made him paint some still life pictures, then let him paint what he wanted. He painted another still life of fruit. He got the teleporter pad as a lifetime reward, and I built a shed out back to keep it in, and then he painted two landscapes with houses that had additions added to them. I might be reading too much into it, but it's fun to try an figure out why he paints what he does.
Maxwell's music career is going well. He had been given the option of two paths: rock n roll, or classical. He chose rock n roll as he still looks a bit like one of Sargent Pepper's band members. He met a fellow musician early on. He appears to be a relative of Judi (Kirkpatrick) Foote, from Redwood Harbor. His name is Scotty Kirkpatrick, and he lives nearby.
I gave him a makeover to make him look more like a rock n roll musician. Later, Maxwell invited him out and asked him if he'd like to join a band he was forming with one of his other coworkers.
The band is called Resident Alien.
No love interests have formed for Maxwell yet.
Kyngston seems to be enjoying school and has had three field trips already. The principal suggested he befriend Kami McNary, which he did, and they hang out a lot.
Kyngston has shown a keen interest in a singing career, so despite the fact that he's still a child, I locked it in as a lifetime wish. His life path indicates he should be an art appraiser first, then choose a different career. The singing can be his second career.

Here he is "singing for his supper."
Polly has finally mastered cooking and can apparently chop vegetables one handed and without looking at them. She seems quite proud of this accomplishment.
She also managed to beat up a burglar who was trying to steal their shower.
Maxwell woke up in time to congratulate her on thwarting the villain. That's all I have to report for now. We'll see how long they will be able to stay here at Salmon Woods.
