Jasper's death came a quite a blow for poor Snuggles. She had a few male friends whose shoulders she cried on . . .
Carlo Espinosa is one of them. He is a charismatic bookworm, which is why he can always be found in the library when he's on break from his job. If you ask him what he does for a living, he claims he's unemployed. I guess he doesn't want to admit that he's a school "lunch lady."
No need to be embarrassed, Carlo. Those people have a positive influence on the youth. You are doing important work! Other traits Carlo has are photographer's eye and perfectionist. The last time Snuggles went looking for him, he was no longer there and replaced by a different guy. Maybe Carlos went to pursue a photography career.
Another potential man for Snuggles is William Looney, the guy that works the snack counter at the theater. We met him before, when Grim stopped in to use the toilet after reaping poor Jasper.
Snuggles used to stop by for a snack before going home, but William too has moved on it seems. Snuggle often stayed after work to improve her piano skills.
She has aged up to an elder now, and has retired from the music career to continue her work in the science lab. She is looking for that ever elusive potion to turn imaginary friends real, as her son Gustav now has one of these friends.
Speaking of Gustav, Simicon was the one to break the news of Jasper's death to him, but who knows how much he understood.
The twins' birthday came and both aged up.
Gustav now has the hydrophobic, loves the heat, and evil traits. (For their life paths, see the previous post.)
Gina now has the hydrophobic, artistic, and insane traits.
I might add the Supernatural pack and try playing both of them for awhile before deciding on the heir.
Gustav has an obsession about wanting to see ghosts. Luckily, dear old dad sometimes makes an appearance. He does make it difficult to play video games when he's levitating and shaking the computer desk, however.
Snuggles isn't as keen on ghosts as Gustav is. She passed out the first time she saw Jasper in her house.
Yet, she seems okay with sharing a bed with him.
After the kids aged up, Snuggles purchased a fixer-upper closer to the school (I wish I had taken a before picture, but it was missing most of its roof, and all the floors. Some walls separating rooms were apparent on the main floor.) The kids started school and began making friends. One of their friends is Athena, whose parents are always spotted around town fighting. Poor girl.
It's nice to see various community lots in action. Snuggles chose to hang out at the hospital one night. Maybe she missed her old job and was hoping there would be some of her old co-workers there. Who knows. Anyway, a pregnant woman, Jane Randall, came waddling in and took the elevator to the second floor, the maternity ward. Then she went into the delivery room, lay down, and watched TV. Maybe she was having Braxton Hicks.
I guess she stayed awhile for observation. She did leave the bed to go to the breakroom and get a snack. Somehow she managed to break the sink.
Snuggles took care of the problem.
After waiting around the hospital most of the night, June Randall decided it was a false alarm and went home.
Snuggles met a woman with the last name of Looney in the break room. This is the same name as the guy who used to cover the snack counter at the theater. I checked to see if they were married, but it appears that she has a different romantic interest. Maybe she's a sister.
Speaking of people with reoccurring last names, a guy named Garrett Gains showed up in town. Garrett was the name of Gustav and Gina's great, great, great grandfather. and Gains is their surname. I'm thinking the guy must be a distant cousin. Linus Gains had a sister from the time machine, so maybe she produced a child in the time machine as well, or one of her children from another time found their way to the present as she was an elder when she showed up. (I know story progression draw from and blends people in the bin, so that explains why these names are occurring, but I like to work it into the storyline.)
Oddly enough, this Garrett married a girl named Gwendolyn Maloney (probably related to Polly Maloney from my other game). I saw that he moved in along with someone else, and I assumed it was a child. I switched to their house to make sure they had what they needed. I added a crib, then realized the new family member was a puppy, and Gwen had a cat, so I added pet stuff. Then I realized I stepped into a touchy situation.
Gwen and Garrett were finding each other alluring, but suddenly Garrett started yelling at Gwen. A message popped up that said she had a cheater reputation.
I checked her relationships, and in addition to Garrett as her husband, she has a love interest Raul Hern. To further complicate things, she went to throw up from "unknown causes." I used Nraas to check her status, and the baby is Garrett's and it will be a girl. Whew! Now if he can just forgive her for having another love interest. But this isn't my problem. Back to the other Gains household.
I added some other venues around town and Simicon and Snuggles went to check them out. One of these places was a bar with a blackjack table and a pool hall.
Snuggles must have won a hand.
Simicon got stuck and came home with the pool cue. You were supposed to leave that at the pool hall, Simicon.
Simicon often forgets to charge her batteries which leads to some awkward situations when she is in them middle of caring for a toddler or a pet.
The poor little critters go into the red, and I have to reset them.
Here's a few more shots of some venues I added.
The fancy restaurant where Jasper and Snuggles went after their wedding ceremony.
The jail - there's another cell behind the stairs.
Views of the science lab - the rug down in the corner is the rabbithole.
I'll end with Snuggles playing with a band in the bar.
Goals for the next session: discover the imaginary friend potion; age the kids to teen and add Supernatural.
