LEPacy Challenge: Gen 8 starts Gen 9; Tragedy Strikes the Gains household.

They may have gotten off to a rocky start, but Jasper has become more attentive to Snuggles, and they get along well. Jasper is not afraid of professing his love for her to the world.

I haven't shown the renovations I have been making to the world as people move in after a zombie apocalypse and reclaim the town. Here is the row of townhouses Jasper bought and renovated. His science lab in the one in the foreground followed by the one the couple lives in. The next three are renovated and rented out. The next block is another lot and not renovated.

My original plan was to confine the simbots to the lab to work, but some of them have the house-cleaning chip and get frustrated if they don't have access to clean the townhouses, so I granted them that. I guess its a bonus amenity for those who rent. The three rentals are occupied by three art appraisers who are rebels. This town only had the criminal hideout. All other venues needed to be "rebuilt" so construction has started. This is the part of downtown that was still standing, but in various states of disrepair - all interiors were empty/blacked out or full of rubble and dead bodies (skeletons).

In the upper left at the back is the fancy restaurant the couple went to after the wedding; the center with the barn doors has bathrooms accessible from the restaurant and room for another venue, maybe a pool hall. The next one looks like it's a pub, so I will eventually turn it into one. These three "buildings" sit on one lot. In the upper right toward the back is another lot with three buildings. I think these will eventually become the grocery store, spa/salon, and bookstore or library. The building at the center with the blue cross is the hospital I built so Snuggles could continue her work in the medical career, and the building next to that has the police station, with a science lab including rabbithole on the top floor. There is a skybridge that connects it to the next building for expansion. The first two floors of the building connected by the skybridge is the movie theater. At the far right center is the new diner with south-of-the-border theme. It used to be a train depot.

Here's the layout of the hospital.

Ground floor: check in desk, waiting room, and bathrooms. The rug at the center is the rabbithole. The back of the building was destroyed in the apocalypse, and rather than build it back, I turned it into a little park area for employees and others to get some outside time.

The second floor is basically the maternity ward. There is one patient room with attached bathroom, a waiting area, and the baby room with viewing window.

The top floor is for those with more serious problems: disease or mental issues. There is also a breakroom for the doctors and nurses.

Here's a closer look at the front of the building.

The other places can be seen as we continue the story.

Snuggles discovered she was pregnant (so she hasn't really gone to work yet, but I send her over there to work on her skills from time to time.) The couple took advantage of the time before they became a family to go out and have some fun.

Even though they chose the tables as far from each other as they could, they DO like each other.

Overview of Central Station Cafe.

The diner rabbithole is on the other side of the tracks.

Jasper and Snuggles also went to a concert at the theater, then played some games in the arcade inside the theater.

The theater rabbithole rug can be found inside the arcade, but the spiral stairs leads up to two walk-in movie theaters with a medieval theme.

Before too long, Snuggles went into labor and that hospital came in handy. They were surprised to discover that the bundle of joy she was carrying around was really twins. Meet Gustav and Gina. I think it's obvious who their favorite is.

I added a crib and decorated the nursery so it doesn't look so bland anymore. Awhile back, Snuggles was dreaming about family in the dream pod, and her dream turned into a nightmare. When she awoke, she no longer had the artistic trait, but discovered she disliked children. This extends to her own as well, but she will autonomously take care of them at this point. That being said, having a robonanny is really handy.

Simicon seems to prefer Gustav too. He's the first one she'll go to if both are crying.

The rebel tenants seem to be having an effect on Jasper. He got the urge to get a street art kit and try out graffiti. He thought he was being sneaky by tagging the inside of an abandoned building, but he must have been followed.

He was fined 1000 simoleons, which didn't make him happy, but he's still got a large bank account from his father winning the lottery, so it really didn't hurt him that bad. The girl in the picture is Sierra Wagner, one of the tenants.

Before long, the babies grew into toddlers, both with Snuggle's fuchsia  hair.

Gina is hydrophobic and artistic. If she becomes the heir, she will marry and have three children. She will become a fortune teller, (add Supernatural pack) and master all skills related to the career and reach level 10 of the career. She will also be a tattoo addict, getting a new tattoo every week. She'll strive to create a "calendar" quality collection of 12 photos of a related theme.

Gustav is hydrophobic and loves the heat, (add Island Paradise pack). If he becomes the heir, he will be a single parent of two children, become a politician, and fight someone at least once a week. He will endeavor to complete every opportunity offered him if they are possible to do, and he will have an extensive car collection.

Snuggles asked Jasper to go on a date night with her, so she could get away from the kids for awhile. They started the evening by going out for drinks at that restaurant.

Now who's the video game addict, Snuggles?

After this, Snuggles, worried about motherhood causing her to lose her edge in her career, wanted to stop by the science lab and check out a sample she had recently acquired. Jasper decided to take in a movie while she did this.

After the movie, he went back over to the police station (bottom floor of the building with the science lab) to wait for her. He was very thirsty, and the rebel in him got the upper hand in the situation, and he decided to slam the vending machine rather than paying for his drink. NOT A GOOD IDEA!

Worst date ever!

After reaping Jasper, Grim helped himself to a soda.  I thought he was going to drink it, but instead he poured it out.

The trauma was just too much for poor Snuggles.

I guess Grim decided to use the police computer to file his reaping report. Meanwhile, the other witnesses started getting hot-n-heavy. Nothing like watching someone die to bring people together.

After filing his report, Grim needed to use the bathroom.

Rather than use the one at the police station, he wandered over to the movie theater.

This turn of events left William Looney, the concession guy, dazed and confused. Was it because Grim walked into the place to use the bathroom, or was he aghast the Grim didn't purchase anything for the privilege of using it?

Had Jasper lived, he was supposed to have a "second chance" relationship - ending his with Snuggles, meeting someone new, and starting a family with them. I think I'll pass that goal to Snuggles.  Could this be Snuggle's new love?

You would think this would be enough excitement for one night, but no. Snuggles went home and cried herself to sleep while Simicon stayed up to take care of the children.

She notice these odd lights in the sky . . .

So, after the only person with any telescope experience dying, no telescopes on the lot, and no space rocks, and after my trying desperately to get Jasper's father Linus abducted, this happens. Interesting. . .
If Simicon were a male, would she have gotten pregnant? Who knows.

The news of Jasper's demise reached the tenants, and one of them, Carey Paulson, I think, was really playing it up. I think he must be an aspiring actor. He didn't really know Jasper - he was just the guy he gave the rent check to.

"Oh, such a tragedy, such a loss!"

"Where will I ever find such a valiant and understanding landlord again?  There is none like Jasper Gains!"

"Oh, the pain! Oh, the agony!" T-66R is always there to help in times of woe. He was there for Snuggles when Jasper was ignoring her on their wedding day, providing a full-body massage and talking with her about her favorite subject: books.  Now he steps in to cheer up poor Carey.

"Here, catch this duck, Carey. It will make you feel better."

It worked!
