Northern Wind Legacy Part 6 - Move to Redwood Harbor - Maxwell finds a bride.
While Maxwell was undoubtedly smitten with Meghan, the North Wind came calling and he and Polly had to leave town, but not before he finished his portrait of Meghan, which he took with him to Redwood Harbor.
Maxwell also took the opportunity to jam with Dequan and hang out at the bars before leaving.
Here are a couple townies enjoying a girls' night out, sporting their best outfits. (NOT)
I learned something new about bar drinks: if a sim drinks a Big Mistake, some of their tamer traits change to insane, party animal, and daredevil for a few hours. So cool! This happened with Polly.
The North Wind arrived and Max and Polly moved on - this time they landed in Redwood Harbor, which has a renaissance feel to it. Rabbitholes are in the basements, and there are some empty "Reserved" lots for placing some buildings the creator made, but I didn't download. The shells were there, though, and I turned one into an Asian wok restaurant, and another into a coffee shop called the Mocha Monkey. The Asian wok only partially works - sims can do the tricks, but not make the meals on it, and I don't know why. Something must have broken when I moved the file to the old computer not hooked up to the internet. The pizza oven doesn't work either. However, I like the look of the restaurant and I put a bar upstairs as this town doesn't seem to have any - or they were ones I needed to download separately.
This is an empty world that Story Progression had to fill, but it's got this strange quirk where the residents will compete with each other for my sims' attention. It happens with both Maxwell
who was on a date with a different girl from these two at the time, and with Polly
It's not something to do with this particular lot, either. Polly went to the Stadium lot and was accosted by a guy with an afro and two guys sporting blue berets.
The "Beret Brothers" seem to be sizing each other up.
Anyway, Polly and Maxwell settled into this spacious two bedroom house, and furnished it.
This style is indicative of the architecture of this town. Polly made enough friends at this point to achieve her lifetime goal. Way to go Polly! Maxwell has fallen for Renee New. He met her at the Mocha Monkey, and they immediately hit it off.
He asked her out and they went to Artists' Point for their first date. There he serenaded her, which she really liked (she's a hopeless romantic),
She seemed so responsive, so he was taken aback when he tried a heat-of-the-moment kiss and she told him off. I guess he's moving too fast.
She went home, and he created a masterpiece depicting her fury and beauty.
They mended fences and he invited her out to the gym, where he gave her some pointers.
Polly also did some busking, and met some more of the town's residents - and resident aliens.
Maxwell invited Renee to be his roommate (I gave her a makeover) and they went out to the new arcade at The Pier. They had a great time and even woohoo'd in the photo booth.
