All the Clary children are now teenagers. Their parents are elders with one foot on a banana peel and the other in the grave. Both twins aged up to be good looking.
Bernardo loves the outdoors and is learning to cook.
Alexandra went to the stylist for a makeover, but was too hungry to go through with it. I gave her one later with Nraas.
Stefanie has taken to using the stimulus test on boyfriends and potential boyfriends to see how they react to stressful situations.
She throws a rubber duck at them to see if they get mad. Her boyfriend JC Costa, passed the test.
He looks awfully old for her but he was a teen just a few days ago. She will be aging up soon. Another potential boyfriend is Conor Christian, the food merchant at the Worries and Woes. He also passed the duck test, though he was somewhat startled.
Stefanie went here when she was feeling a bit peckish and noticed him. She learned that he is also interested in computers, and they have compatible zodiac signs. She cried on his shoulder about the loss of Aunt Georgia.
Linus has made an appearance or two, coming home from school with Bernardo, though he tends to arrive a few hours later - maybe he has a job or something.
I was thinking of maybe having Alexandra and Linus get together. They seemed to take to each other.
Al and Paloma won a free vacation, so left the kids alone for a few days. The kids threw a party and invited all the teens they knew. This is where I started having second thoughts about Linus for Alexandra. Even though she struck up conversation and was getting to know him better and flirted a bit, he seemed uninterested and instead offered flowers to Stefanie, who refused them.
Overall, the party went well; they broke it up when the call that the cops were on the way due to neighbors complaining, came in.
I thought the party was pretty mellow - I didn't give them a keg, but they made some drinks and some hot beverages, and someone cooked a pizza. They played pool, kicked the soccer ball in the house, and a few passed out from staying up too late. Alexandra met two other potential boyfriends aside from Linus, and Bernardo got to know the one female teen who showed up.
Overall, the kids are pretty responsible and goal oriented. Here they are all doing their homework together, autonomously.
A few days later, the parents came back to a clean and tidy house - due mostly to their new butler, Jasen Aguilar. He was the only adult at the teen party (a young adult) and he kept out of their way and cleaned up their messes.
He was hired after Aunt Georgia passed away, and he took over her room. At first Bernardo wasn't fond of him,
but he has since gotten over his objection.
Jasen is neat, family-oriented, a natural cook, brave, and has a good sense of humor.
I'm creating a backstory on him: He comes from Bridgeport, and his father before him was also a butler. His father worked for the Mahoney family (old money), and he grew up with and attended school with Polly Mahoney. Romance started, and Mr. Mahoney, a rash and hot-headed man, was not amused. He wrote Polly out of the will in a fit of anger and sent Jasen and his father packing. As time passed and Jasen was no longer in the picture, Mr. Mahoney softened toward his daughter. He was on his way to his attorney to reinstate her to the fortune, when he and his wife were killed in a car accident. As a result, Polly was left with nothing and has to live hand to mouth on the streets in Bridgeport, sneaking into the basement of the family high rise to sleep in safety. Perhaps some day in the near future Jasen will return to Bridgeport and look Polly up. . . .
Anyway, the Clary parents came back from their vacation and were working out in the home gym, when poor Al dropped dead.
Al took it well. I guess he was ready to go. Grim, on the other hand, decided to go looking for Alexandra, whose birthday party he attended when he reaped Aunt Georgia.
He found her and started following her around the house!
Apparently he wanted to pillow fight.
It seems she has a unique connection to old Grim. Maybe I need to place his house somewhere in this world, or move her as a young adult and place his house in that world. Then she could visit and befriend him. Maybe she will turn into a goth as she ages . . .
Bernardo, on the other hand, just wishes they would go somewhere else so he can concentrate on his homework.
Stefanie was at the park when her father passed away. When she got the news, she cried on the shoulder of a paramedic she had just met. Stefanie is a shoulder-crier, I guess.
That night, Aunt Georgia made an appearance.
Perhaps she was trying to comfort Stefanie as she and Stefanie were very close when Georgia was alive, but Stefanie wanted none of it.
I don't blame her; it would be creepy.
