North Winds Legacy Part 2: From Kingsbury to Bleake Islands
Polly and Matty were living happily in Kingsbury when the birthdays for Polly and Maxwell came around.
But soon winter was upon them.
Luckily, Polly saved the day.
They seemed really interested in each other, but Polly read in the paper a few days later that he had a "shotgun wedding" with his girlfriend.
She gave him a beating and recovered the stereo.
It might be good to have another man around that house because Robin Reeves made another attempt to steal their stuff. It was on a night with a full moon. . .
"I'm just trying to do my job, ma'am!"
Polly didn't take turning to an older adult very well. She frequented the salon getting makeover after makeover, never quite satisfied with the results.
To be fair, she asked the tattoo artist, not the stylist, but I think he did okay. I don't know what she is complaining about. Then she went to the magic mirror to see if she could get a better look.
Finally, she found the stylist and was happy with her new look, but still concerned about her wrinkles.
Then, out of the blue, a strange man walked in and slapped her!
Maybe she hurt the tattoo artist's feelings, and this guy was a friend of his. Polly slapped him back and kicked his butt for good measure.
I love how the mirror reflects the action. This game is a marvel!
The last days of fall were spent raking leaves and making use of them. . .
. . . fishing,
. . . and hanging out with friends.
Their time in Kingsbury was not without mishaps, however. Once, Matty started cooking some Stu Surprise on the stove, then autonomously went over and sat at the table with Maxwell.
It looks like Matty needs some new shoes for Christmas.
Their second kitchen fire occurred during a gift-giving party. Polly had just called everyone to open presents, when the stove caught fire again.
As a result, no one got to open presents because the action got cancelled and the game wouldn't let me repeat the calling to the present opening.
Spring arrived and the North Wind came calling. Matty was left behind with the house and Polly and Maxwell found themselves in a small, remote, stark community known for being a site of a crashed UFO. With the inheritance money Polly had saved awhile back, they managed to find an adequate sea shanty with a lot of plumbing problems. Polly fixed the plumbing and Maxwell pitched in mopping floors, and soon they had a presentable abode.
It's conveniently located across the street from a grocery store and Fawn's Coffee and Vino.
Molly sat at Fawn's and planned her next course of action.
She decided to continue with writing her books - there is a lot of interesting source material here on Bleake Islands. She also thought she might try to jumpstart her music career. She played for tips at the Green Parrot, but wasn't very successful.
At least she didn't feel she needed to play on the stage behind the fence.
She eventually found another musician, Irvin Piper, but before she could suggest they start a band, he ran off.
The very first night of their sojourn saw the arrival of their first encounter with a resident (other than the mascot). Polly awoke in the middle of the night to Robin Reeves trying to steal her stereo!
The next day she encountered Robin at the festival. She's all for second chances, and tried to be friendly, but things weren't going right, and they ended up enemies.
Meanwhile, Maxwell went to his first day of school and found he was the only kid there! (Soon some single women started adopting children with my help.) Maxwell isn't all that interested in school, but he tries. He shows a lot of interest in painting, so maybe he'll take after his dad, Matty.
Maxwell's teen birthday rolled around, and Polly threw a late morning/early afternoon party for him.
He looks like he belongs in Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
His face has some character to it - he's not the typical potato face.
After the party, Polly and Maxwell spent some quality time at the festival.
A few days later, Maxwell found his first love interest: Sunny.
Sunny is flirty, but I guess Maxwell was moving too fast, because she got mad when he kissed her.
He apologized and she forgave him, then came over to his house after school one day.
It happened to be the day that Polly got up in his grill about his grades, which was embarrassing, but I think they might have a romance forming.
Polly has found love too. One of the first days she was on Bleake Islands, she met Derrick Carbone, and they eventually became good friends - with benefits. Maxwell isn't too thrilled with the idea of Mom having overnight guests.
and Maxwell had a notion to go to the graveyard and do his homework there . . .
. . . and when he came home late, Robin snuck through the door behind him!
Robin made it up the stairs (probably trying to steal the toilet) and was confronted by Polly, and she was not in a good mood! She was HANGRY!
Robin got his butt handed to him again.
"Don't ever get between me and the refrigerator when I'm hungry!"
Or will the North Wind come calling to sweep them off to another location?
Once Robin ran off, Polly and Maxwell sat down to a late night snack, and Maxwell mused over the police's inability to keep crime off the streets.
Will Polly and Maxwell both find love on Bleake Islands? Will Polly start that band with Irvin like she wants?
To be continued . . .
