LEPacy Challenge - From Sunset Valley to Lunar Lakes
LEPacy Challenge - From Sunset Valley to Lunar Lakes
Linus reached a milestone: he became an adult. There wasn't a lot of fanfare; he came home stressed and exhausted from work and saw that Tracie had bought him a cake.
He did manage to muster up some excitement about it.
And he graciously accepted his gifts: a book on photography that he had been wanting, and a gizmo with airplanes flying around, that Tracie found at the consignment store and bought with money she earned from tips for playing her guitar.
She also had some news for him - he's going to be a father again. However, before she had the chance to tell him, he passed out on the floor from exhaustion.
Shortly thereafter, they had another son and named him Jeff. If Jeff becomes the heir, he will find a mate, have a mixture or biological and adopted children (4 in total), and be a freelance scientist. He will become a perfectionist in one skill of his choosing - mastering it and also at least one - if not all- of the skills challenges that go with that skill. He will also be a prankster, pulling 10 pranks - at least 5 off of the home lot. He was born with the Loves the Outdoors and Perceptive traits and gained the Hot-headed trait as a child.
Speaking of pranks, in other news, in an attempt to improve her relationship with her coworkers, Tracie invited one of hers to the community pool to hang out. It was the middle of the afternoon, but it must have been adult swim day - clothing optional, as most sims there were skinny dipping. Tracie thought it would be funny to hide everyone's clothes.
She is considerably older than Linus and is seeking a way to get younger. She tried to make an anti-aging potion at the science center, managed to make some stink juice, and then had bad results going any further. She did spot a unicorn that night, however.
After Jeff's birth, Linus was transferred to Lunar Lakes, so the whole family moved into a rather odd house with a nightmare of a floorplan: Climb stairs to an entrance room. Go outside again and climb stairs to a deck. Climb stairs to another level where there is a bathroom. Climb stairs to another deck. Climb stairs to the main living area with a kitchen, living area, and partitioned off sleeping area with one twin bed. They built on a master bedroom and placed a crib in with the single bed for the kids.
They were welcomed to the neighborhood by several people, including Patricia Cross, the Vice President of Lunar Lakes. Linus and Patricia hit it off really well (perhaps too well).
I don't really want Linus to cheat on Tracie, but we'll see where this leads. Patricia did ask him out on a date and he went, but when she started flirting, he politely (autonomously) resisted her. Her husband happened upon the scene and was not happy.
There have been a few changes to Lunar Lakes since Linus and Tracie honeymooned there: a new shopping center was built.
Lunar Lakes Shop-o-Rama features a playground, bathrooms, Hi Tech Living store, and New Again Consignments on the lower level and a Dojo, Future Me (clothing and gadget store), Dragon's Head Tattoos, Gussy Me Up Salon, and Lunar Lakes Restaurant and Lounge on the upper floor. There are a couple open storefronts to be filled soon.
The other new thing in Lunar Lakes is the mysterious time portal near the Gains' house. Linus went to investigate. (By the way, Tracie spent some of her happiness points on a gadget that lets you change the future and set it on dystopia.) Linus met Emit, the time portal keeper and helped him collect some batteries. In exchange, Emit offered to show him the future and be his guide.
It turns out that the future isn't bright (at least not for the moment).
There is grime and garbage everywhere, and no one seems to care. Meteors drop from the sky at random times - one nearly killed poor Linus.
Linus met his descendants - all of them stinky people, and none seemed in a position to carry on the family legacy: Jasper's descendants are Jamar and Nadine Gains - these are elders without children. Both are level 10 in advanced technology and can salute (a trait they must have inherited from a line of military predecessors.) Jeff's ancestors are Aubrey and his two adult sons who live with him. They are also stinky. Maybe Linus can invite them to the past - I'll have to try that and see if it's possible.
While in Oasis Landing, Linus went to the wasteland and collected some interesting nanites and crystal plants. He also found the pieces to make a key to a crashed space ship. I was a little disappointed in it - I was hoping it was like a tomb to be explored, but as far as I can see, there are only a few rooms. This room was pretty neat though.
He also explored some "rifts" that formed when meteors hit.
He activated one of the items when he got home.
He doesn't own a dream pod. Probably not a big loss. 😆
Another thing he did was check the lottery ticket records and then went home and bought a ticket. He won over a million simoleons, so now I need to find ways to spend it.
I razed their existing house and built them a better one, including some of the latest technology and a fountain of youth on the back patio. Tracie visits the fountain daily wishing for youth and drinking the water. So far, she has only managed to shave a few days off her age. (I haven't taken pictures of the house yet, I guess.) She may be an elder, but Tracie is living her best life.
She retired from the business job that, despite all her hard work, was getting her no where, and she bought the End Zone sports bar, where she drops in from time to time and shows off her mixology expertise.
Sometimes the customers drone on and on . . .
When she's not mixing drinks at her bar, she can often be found painting (sometimes in the nude).
She's turned out some pretty nice paintings. She also finally got that tattoo she had been wanting. . ,
and can occasionally be found playing her guitar in the park, when she's not swing on the swings.
She hasn't made any friends; she's a loner after all. But she did make an enemy. While she was at the mall, out of the blue, this woman walked up to her and slapped her.
This escalated into Tracie yelling at her, declaring her a nemesis, and fighting her. Tracie lost the fight. She then slapped the woman back and left. If I had had the presence of mind, I would have had Tracie throw the stink juice potion at her. Next time, I guess. I think Tracie should work on her athletic skills, so she can win the next fight with this lady. Maybe she should take a page from Linus' book and learn some martial arts.
This is where Linus usually ends up if I take him to the mall and leave him to do what he wants. Tracie usually goes to the consignment store and starts painting on their easels. The kids head for the playground.
Linus kept getting offers from the Science facility, so eventually left the military to become a scientist. His lifetime goal was to be an Astronomer/Space Explorer. His lifetime wish was to be an astronaut. He might return to the military and continue with the astronaut thing, but if not, now that he has won the lottery, I was thinking of getting him a space ship.
As for generation 8, they are both children now; both love the outdoors and skip school a lot to go fishing. I try to keep them out of school and avoiding homework. Their imaginary friends are really good at distracting them from homework.
Jasper wanted to sell some baked goods, so going against the deadbeat parents plan of not getting them any learning toys, I bought the bake oven. He tried selling some cookies he made, and went to a few different places.
No one bought his cookies, poor guy. One guy said he was on a diet. Maybe he'll try again later. I don't seem to have any screenshot of Jeff. I'll have to make a point of getting some.
The family is not without tragedy. They spent several days mourning their dog Marina who passed away from old age when I wasn't looking.
The grieving period has passed, so maybe I'll get a cat this time as they don't really need a dog to contribute to the family income.
