Toledo County Residents - Part 2

I'm still trying to get my Toledo town working on the old computer that is not hooked up to the internet and doesn't have my 70s, 80s, 90s stuff pack, Into the Future, or Showtime loaded on it. One of the things I tried was moving a guy named Fidel Dutton to a different house and deleting his house as it was primarily made with Into the Future items. Therefore, I followed him to his sparsely furnished new home, fixed it up a little, and got to know him.

Fidel is a nurturing, clumsy, neat, coward with commitment issues. He is partial to the color white and is currently working in the journalism field.  His lifetime wish is to be a Jack of all Trades, which fits well with the commitment issues trait as it means he will want to have at least four different careers in his lifetime. Buying this house is his first big commitment. He's contemplating settling down and starting a family before he gets too old and dies a lonely old man. As for finding him a woman, I think I know a girl . . . .

After sorting out Fidel's living arrangement, I went back to see what Orlando was up to.  He was visiting Maryann Schwartz. Maryann was originally a cashier at Rebecca's Cafe and had been since high school. When Orlando first met her, they didn't really get along that well, so I was a little surprised to find him here. Apparently Maryann quit her job at the cafe and took a job in education. She is a neat, socially awkward loner who happens to be a hopeless romantic and great kisser. She and Orlando did a little autonomous flirting, but I'm thinking with her loner and socially awkward traits and Fidel's clumsy, coward, and commitment issues traits, they might be a good match.

Despite the pretty girls that Orlando was hanging out with at his party last episode, the girl he is closest with is Lindsay Hines, a neighbor across the street from him whose house he worked on when he first came to town. (She had wanted a home gym, but wasn't too happy with the result. She apparently didn't let it get in the way of making friends with Orlando, though. She too, was at the party.

She's the woman in the beekeeping hat, ITF top that is unflattering for her figure, and goofy ruffled mini skirt that should not be worn by anyone over 30 despite their figures. While she and Orlando are not romantically involved, they are best friends, and he did, after talking to her on the phone, have a desire to kiss her. I figured if she's that important to my fella, she deserved a makeover, so she looked more dignified. I had Orlando invite her to the festival on his day off and gave her a makeover.

Lindsay is a bookworm who is clumsy, childish, frugal, and a light sleeper.  She also LOVES to skate.
In fact she kept gravitating to the rink.  She is really quite good at it. She must spend a lot of time here and doesn't seem clumsy at all.

Orlando, on the other hand, despite his high athletic skills, is not a good skater.

They skated and had some snacks. (At least they sat at the same table, though as far away from each other as they could get.)

Orlando ate these hot wings, then a snow cone.  He was stuffed, yet autonomously went back and got a hamburger.

He's going to need a workout after this binge!

He left Lindsay to enjoy her skating, and tried his luck at the claw machine.

After several tries, he won a yeti, which he gave as a gift to Lindsay. As a person with the childish trait, she was thrilled.

As planned, Orlando and Lindsay hit the gym later in the afternoon,  Apparently Lindsay had her face painted when I wasn't looking.

Lindsay may be skilled at the skating rink, but not so much on the treadmill. I didn't push their get-together to anything romantic. I had forgotten to pin the wanted to kiss her wish, so I'll leave them to their own devices and see what happens.

The next day I got a notice that Toni Rivers' home was not up to snuff, and she might have to move.  I thought she might be pregnant, or have too many sims in her house, but it turned out it was missing a lot of furniture, including the bed. I switched to her and furnished her house with black accents as that is her favorite color. Toni is a clumsy, yet disciplined photographer and computer wiz. She is also childish and a loner. She had only recently moved to Toledo, and bought a house. This explains why she only had two acquaintances: Andres Farris and Rusty Tolbert.  Oddly enough, Andres is supposed to be Orlando's roommate, but was showing as Toni's roommate, so I fixed him a room upstairs just in case he had moved when I wasn't looking. Toni had the option to ask him out for a date when I clicked on his profile, so I thought, "What the heck, let's give this a try."

She asked him out for coffee, and he said he'd meet her there. He was driving Orlando's Speedster, the mooch! The first thing Andres did was ask Toni for money.  This wasn't an auspicious start. They had some coffee, and went to Rusty Tolbert's house as it was indicated there was a party going on there.  It turns out is was a false alarm, and Rusty's house needs some furniture.

At this point, Andres started giving Toni flowers, which I thought was as good sign . . .

He gave her two bouquets, and she tried to thank him with a kiss.  Apparently that was a bad idea.

On a side note, Andres has apparently left the education field (I don't blame him) and joined the military.  My next order of business will be to furnish Rusty's house for him and get to know him a little better. As for Toni, maybe she had better look for love elsewhere.  Maybe Rusty is more compatible.
