LEPacy callenge: Linus' birthdays, Adria's move, Mandy's destruction of gnome headstones, and Cliff's career change.

Linus is growing and is finally to an age where he might become interesting.

It's the baby's birthday! Why does everyone look grumpy? And who put a plate of pancakes on the floor? Were you born in a barn?

I was doing something with the one of the other family members and went to check on Mandy. I found her autonomously playing with little Linus. How sweet!

Linus' next birthday. He went to his first day of school the next day, and it looks like he has a lot of potential friends to choose from. (This is also an indication that the world is getting too full, and the family may need to move soon.)

About Linus: He's brave, disciplined, and a slob at this point. He will marry, have two kids, and become an astronomer and/or space explorer. (Maybe he'll get kidnapped by aliens.) He and his spouse will be deadbeat parents, not teaching their children anything and not encouraging them to go to school, do homework, or go on field trips.  The kids will need to educate themselves and build skills on their own.
All members of the family will be in the same field (science or space related jobs). I'm going to add Late Night, because it's starting to drive me crazy not having it.

Once Linus aged up to child, Adria decided to move out.  She hasn't found a man to marry, but she's beginning to enjoy her single life. At her age, it's better to avoid the grief and loss that so many of her older friends experience when their spouse dies. She moved to an apartment I set down next-door, so the family can visit each other when they want. The place was a mess with broken sinks, showers, clogged toilets, and even a rotting autumn salad on a coffee table.  She fixed the place up, and is ready to get some roommates. This apartment came with an elevator, but since I don't have Late Night enabled yet, I had to install stairs to the upper floors and replace a couple items. After I switched back to the original family, she adopted a kitten, so I went back and added cat supplies.

Another weird thing happened after placing the lot. It and my original household's lot was burgeoning with Mysterious Mr. Gnome headstones.

Nothing was missing, so I'm not sure why they showed up. Mandy decided to detonate them and discovered they are worth 30 pieces of scrap each!

In other news, Cliff decided to leave the architecture field and pursue his dream of being a stylist. He has had a lot of success. (I cheat and Nraas the clients to see what their favorite color is and their traits) He uses a charming introduction, discusses fashion, flatters them on their fashion sense, and asks about their career.  He makes sure each outfit has some of their favorite color.  There are a few things I was totally unware of, however: the tattoo chairs can break . . .

And stylists, at least mean-spirited ones like Cliff, can go around deliberately giving people bad makeovers.

Before we leave this town, I think I'll have Cliff go on a bad makeover rampage.

Costanzo Rossi came to Linus' birthday party and stayed. I wondered if it was a glitch and the game assigned a new roommate when Adria moved out, but he's not a roommate. I used Nraas to check his status and he's in a "visiting situation." He also has a wife and child, so he has a home somewhere. He's not controllable in my household. I guess he and the wife had a fight, and he's reluctant to go home.

I think I'll try to move some of the people who can't find suitable housing to Adria's apartment, have Linus befriend as many kids as possible, and see if I can stay at Monte Vista without it crashing for a little while longer.
By the way, the family tree never did connect back past Ming, so maybe it doesn't work all the time. I did have it work once in a previous game (Trump in Greenland) but maybe the circumstances were different.
