LEPacy challenge: Rise of Generation 6 - Ming's wedding

The teen years were a little rocky, especially where Bobo was concerned. His animosity toward Tay Bayless continued as Bunny was still Tay's girlfriend. He finally did succeed in egging Tay's house.

Mrs. Bayless was not amused and called the cops!

Run Bobo, run!

The ride home.

Here's Mandy's makeover picture that I forgot to post in the last installment.  I think she turned out pretty.

I typically don't alter faces or bodies using sliders - except for once in a previous generation because I got tired of seeing the same nose. All I did for Mandy was change her hair, clothes, and add some make-up.

Ming and DeAndre were still going strong, but he apparently got another girlfriend, so Ming asked him to dump her, then asked him to go steady.  He agreed. Then, right after that, Mary Darer comes up and gives him flowers, which he accepts. "Stay away from my man, Mary Darer!"

DeAndre was so chill about all the goings-on.  He just stood by and watched the spectacle.

I think Mary got the message. At any rate, Ming decided to propose. "Any woman willing to fight like that for me is my kind of woman!" enthused DeAndre.  A few days later, Ming threw a bachelorette party at the public pool. I know, its a strange place for a bachelorette party, but Ming is a strange woman.  All went well; she invited all her old female friends - and I mean OLD. I was expecting a visit from Grim, but he didn't show up.

I have no idea what this thing on Ming's head is supposed to be.

The spaghetti from the buffet table went over well - I don't think there were any takers for the key lime pie.

The party went way into the early morning hours - much too late for some of the old broads. At least they didn't fall in the pool.  At any rate, the party was "epic" despite the state of the public restrooms.

Ming had a few more dates with DeAndre before the wedding, such as the time they went to the gym and she tried to convince him to chicken dance.

A few days later, the kids aged up to young adults. Ming threw a party for them at the community center.

"Great!" Ming thought, "Now I can get married to DeAndre and move in with him and his three flea-ridden cats! I can't wait to use the recording studio and bathe in that ridiculously large bathroom that opens onto a veranda!"

She was so excited that she forgot that the kids would be graduating on the same day that she set the wedding.

For some reason, both of the girls graduating decided to wear these pussycat hats instead of the traditional graduation cap. I've never seen this before either - or at least I never noticed.

I think Mandy was angry with her mother for scheduling the wedding on the same day as graduation, taking all the limelight from her accomplishments, and neglecting to throw a post graduation party for her. She confronted her right after the graduation ceremony and right before the wedding.  (This was totally autonomous - I was surprised.)

I think Ming was as surprised as I was.

They've always had a good relationship until now. Hopefully they can patch things up later.

In all this drama and my struggle to get the bride to the wedding on time, I forgot to send the kids to the location. I'll assume Mandy stomped off and went to one of her friend's post graduation parties instead of attending her mother's wedding.  Bobo did show up, but I didn't see him until the ceremony was over, so maybe he just came for the reception.

He's the one thinking about going to college. He didn't dress up for the occasion - I forgot to adjust his outfits after he aged up. But at least he put in an appearance.  I don't know if I'm going to send the kids to college. I think they will just get jobs and carry on.

The wedding went really smooth! It was the least drama-filled as any I have had before. I did have to build an emergency bathroom near the site because poor Ming's bladder was getting full, but other than that and Mandy not showing up, it went great.

Look at all these people sitting! This is a first for me.

I didn't invite Mary Darer, but it looks like she showed up anyway. (The lady in the yellow who can't seem to find a seat.) Bunny Curious is here - right at the center of the picture with the atrocious hairdo.

Some enchanted evening . . .

Ming had her cake with Parker Prudence.  He's a potential suitor for Mandy.  Is he saying he got a new house? Or is he asking her if she's moving to a new house?

DeAndre is have his cake with a guy I think is Seamus Drudge. Apparently he thinks he saw a swamp monster the other day.

While I was playing Ming and DeAndre (from the time they got married to the time they went home and I added in pet supplies for the three cats) both Bobo and Mandy went out and got jobs. Bobo joined the athletic career (I'll let him keep it) but Mandy joined the music career which has no rhyme or reason to it, as she has no musical skills.  I switched her to the ghost hunting career because that's one of the requirements for Gen 6. I think I'll leave the existing house for Bobo and move Mandy to a new house.  Then she can start looking for a potential mate and start a family. (She's supposed to have two children). Her mate is supposed to have at least one conflicting personality trait and become an architect.  I also want Mandy to invent a time machine and have some of her mother's ancestors arrive in town to see if any branches of the tree will reconnect since I had to start a new game.
