LEPacy challenge: Goodbye Twinbrook, hello Monte Vista

Twinbrook was bogging down and getting glitchy, and while I would a have liked to wait until Ming passed away before moving, it was time for Mandy to discover new places from the one she grew up in. Eligible men were in short supply, and the burglar who showed up, stole her fortune cookie machine and escaped was the last straw. Here's a few scenes from the last days in Twinbrook.

Mandy had a job at the old Darer estate where it appears Zo Wheloff now lives as a single parent of an infant girl and several dogs.  The baby's father is Parker Prudence, who should be ashamed of himself for not marrying her and taking her away from this squalor! When Mandy arrived, there was no crib or pet supplies, and the baby was just lying on the floor. (I had to take over and give them the necessary items, and learned that Zo wanted to get married. You'd better get on it, Parker!)

As for the to-do list from the end of the last installment:

  • Bunny wasn't dead; I guess she just broke up with Tay Bayless
  • Mandy managed the dead, placing headstones for DeAndre and a few other sims she knew that had passed away.
  • She never asked Elton to be a roommate as that option never came up.
  • She tried to ask Shark out, but he was working at the time.
  • I apparently don't have the Simfinder App or the online dating option - maybe they're included in a different pack.
  • She's still working on that time machine, but has managed to build a miner.
  • She adopted an old dog named Snowball.
This is Snowball going home from the pool. He (or she) loves to swim, is a good hunter, and is so cute!

Mandy is now at level 9 of the ghost hunting career . . .

Sometimes she stops for a lunch break.

Then it's back to work.

I think instead of making her spouse be an architect, she might take it up after she tops this career. It would be something she could do as she's raising her children.

At any rate, it's time to move.  Mandy packed up all the heirlooms from previous generations, and a couple items she knew she would be using. I will miss this house, though . . . . I will definitely put it in another game or town at some point.

Mandy's new house in Monte Vista is nice too.  She bought it unfurnished so she could decorate it how she wanted with no pre-conceived ideas of where to place the furniture. Green goes well with this house, so she's stepped away from her favorite color, purple.

Mandy was putting all her heirlooms away when the doorbell rang; a few neighbors had come to welcome her to the neighborhood.

She managed to make friends with Vanna Seng and Giacomo Modena, but the old lady who came along was difficult to befriend.

Giacomo is single, and as soon as they were friends, Mandy got the option to ask him to be her roommate.  He took her up on the offer.  She also learned that he's in the criminal career. We'll see how that turns out. Is this Mr. Right? Mandy Modena has a nice ring to it.

At any rate, Mandy served everyone vegetarian fish and chips using her grill,

and entertained her new friends with ghost stories.

All in all, it was a good evening.
I've only played once as a resident in Monte Vista and not for very long (got bored with only one sim), though I have had several sims vacation here.  I know I need to revamp some of the venues. I will miss not having Late Night for the professional bars, but I'll make due.
