LEPacy challenge: Acquisition of the "spare" and wedding plans

LEPacy challenge: Acquisition of the "spare" and wedding plans

Garrett, being the LEPacy heir, has certain goals and situations he must fulfill, but sometimes the story goes a little off the tracks, and this time I just had to follow.  For instance, Garrett is to be a single parent of two children and raise them from babies with no live-in help. As shown in previous posts, Garrett had a relationship with a fickle Chinese national, Biyu, and they produced Ming.  Garrett was unable to take custody of Ming until she was a teenager, due in part to her being in another country, and in part because I was struggling with getting her into my household. (I have since learned the shift-click, add to household move using testingCheatsenabled.)

Since then, Garrett has had a one-night stand with a flirty married woman, and she became pregnant with his baby. Her name is Maya Abbott, and she gave birth to baby Brant. Story Progression informed me that Maya and her husband had a big fight outside a store shortly after Brant was born.  I'm going to assume the husband found out that Brant wasn't his and refused to raise him.  In order to save her marriage, Maya invited Garrett over to dinner when her husband was out of the house, and dropped the bomb on him.  He looks a little surprised.

She convinced Garrett to take Brant and raise him, allowing her to visit frequently to see how he's doing. She isn't particularly happy with the arrangement, but her back is against the wall.

That night, Garrett left the Abbott house with baby Brant in his arms.

Although the original plan for this generation was for Garrett to raise his children from babies on his own, he has a teenage daughter to help out . . .

and a brother and his fiancé living next door on the same lot.

As for Garrett, he's not the ideal father . . .

but he's better than no father at all. Garrett has purchased a stuffed animal and high chair because he wanted to, and has started teaching Brant to walk and use the potty.

As far as women go, Garrett has moved on and now has a girlfriend named Grayson Blake,

who, like all his previous girlfriends, is fickle and flirty. She even made a pass at Garrett's brother Gunnar.

Gunnar, on the other hand, only has eyes for Marla Grisby lately, and he asked her to marry him.  She is mean-spirited and often unkind, but last time she was carrying on like that toward Gunnar, I had him "heat of the moment kiss" her and she stopped the meanness and got romantic.  I'll keep trying that tactic in the future to see if it redirects her.

Gunnar has proposed to Marla, and she has said yes. They can't seem to keep their hands off each other and autonomously woohoo. (I don't have the passion mod, either.)

Now I need to decide if they should marry in the retreat up the hill in Hidden Springs and honeymoon in France, or just go to France and get married there, and honeymoon there as well. I'm leaning toward a wedding in France as I haven't tried that yet, and Garrett needs to go to France anyway to retrieve a bottle of nectar for the lady in China. I'm not sure what to do with Brant.  I wonder if a sitter will come if they try to leave, or should I age him up to child and take him with the group?

Speaking of autonomous woohoo, Garrett and Grayson woohoo'd in the photo booth I placed at Lar's Disco while I was focusing on Gunnar and Marla's post engagement date.  If Grayson gets pregnant, she will have to raise the kid, as Garrett is really only supposed to have two. As for Gunnar and Marla's date, I sent them for a romantic dinner, and the evening ended with Gunnar taking a phone call and Marla dumpster diving.  It's just as well, I guess, as they really did need another dining chair for their table.
