4 Seasons #5 - Aspen and Vinny - Winter Continues

4 Seasons #5 - Aspen and Vinny - Winter Continues

At this point there are about 4 days of winter left. Aspen and Vinny have been making the most of it by keeping up on their garden, increasing their skills, and having fun.

There has been some excitement, and Vinny has had the chance to practice up on "saving the day." (His lifetime goal is to be a fireman who saves at least 30 people. I haven't placed a fire station in the town yet because I suspect he'd hang out there, eat their food, watch their TV, and sleep in their beds. Once the challenge is over, I'll place one.)

The first save-the-day incident occurred after Aspen, being frugal, took a discount inventing class and then went to the school to practice what she had learned.  Right off the bat, she managed to set herself on fire! She seemed too panicked to use the shower (or Vinny was inadvertently blocking her access to it) but Vinny put her out.

If she were a cat, Aspen would be down to seven lives now. Luckily, both Vinny and Aspen are carrying death flowers that they grew in their greenhouse.

The second save-the-day incident occurred in the middle of the night when a burglar broke into the greenhouse.  Vinny made short work of her.

Aspen bought and read several books so far this winter. (She found tiberium last fall, so they don't really have money problems now, but she still thinks about money and waits for the sales.) Vinny bought a portable radio, and keeps interrupting her reading time by asking her to dance.

Their friends keep calling them and telling them they need to throw bachelor and bachelorette parties, but I'm waiting until spring to start the wedding preparations.

One of the skills that neither Sim has gained is cooking.  Roasting potatoes, onions, fish, and pumpkins does not a good chef make.  Aspen wanted to buy some recipes from the bookstore, but she had NO cooking skills, so she took matters into her own hands and went to the bakery, and created her own cooking class.  She made chocolate chip cookies, white bread, and an apple pie. And being a good girl, she didn't eat any of it. I could have had her take a cooking class at a restaurant, but I liked this idea better, especially since I haven't used this bakery much since I got it.

The couple has also made a couple visits to the winter festival. Boy, that immune to the cold award really works! Aspen had just gotten out of the hot tub, but didn't bother to change back into her outerwear. Vinny simply refuses to wear a coat.  I have him change to outerwear, and next thing I know he's walking around in his short-sleeved T-shirt.

The couple has woohoo'd in some public places: the movie theater, hot tub at the gym, photo booth at the karaoke bar . . .

but they have been careful and not risky. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of "education" they obtain from their Walden experience. I suspect they will have learned more in this year than they will in college.  I'll have them take the aptitude tests in the late Spring.

Spring will be party season: bachelor, bachelorette, wedding.
