Confessions of a Sims 3 Addict

 At the beginning of Spring, Aspen and Vinny had their first spat. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Vinny channeled  his obnoxious inner nerd and insulted Aspen's intelligence.  She was mad at him all day, and they spent the day apart doing their own things.  Too much togetherness can be a bad thing.  At any rate, they quickly patched things up. This woman is bad news.  Her name is Hayley Thibordeaux. She's married to a guy named Garth and both of them are hopeless romantics. She was incessantly flirting with Vinny. At first, Vinny seemed immune to her advances.  He enthused about his upcoming wedding, etc., but she was persistent, and he finally flirted back. I sent him home before he got into too much trouble. Time passed, and she aged up to an elder.  The last interaction she and Vinny had, she was asking him for money.  He didn't give her any, however.  The Meyers' apparently aren't getting along too well lately.  It's time to plan for the wedding that will take place, hell or high water, on the first day of Summer, when the 4 season challenge is over. I'm not much of a wedding planner and my public weddings have had mixed results (See below), but I usually have the lifespan set shorter and haven't been quite as invested in most of my characters.  I want to give these guys a nice wedding that suits their personalities. Of course, I'm fine if there's a little drama as is customary in Sims games. Previous weddings: Aspen is a loner, with only a small circle of friends, so the wedding will be an intimate affair with just a few people invited.  However, she is also frugal, so she won't spring for an exclusive party, and whoever shows up, shows up.  Because she's frugal, we won't be doing any CC shopping for the dress - just what she can get from the thrift-store (standard content).  4 Seasons #5 - Aspen and Vinny - Winter Continues  At this point there are about 4 days of winter left. Aspen and Vinny have been making the most of it by keeping up on their garden, increasing their skills, and having fun.  There has been some excitement, and Vinny has had the chance to practice up on "saving the day." (His lifetime goal is to be a fireman who saves at least 30 people. I haven't placed a fire station in the town yet because I suspect he'd hang out there, eat their food, watch their TV, and sleep in their beds. Once the challenge is over, I'll place one.) The first save-the-day incident occurred after Aspen, being frugal, took a discount inventing class and then went to the school to practice what she had learned.  Right off the bat, she managed to set herself on fire! She seemed too panicked to use the shower (or Vinny was inadvertently blocking her access to it) but Vinny put her out.  If she were a cat, Aspen would be down to seven lives now...

Vinny and Aspen are a few days away from Winter now.  Their autumn season has been VERY RAINY. Here in Idaho it does not rain like this in the fall. They got one or maybe two days in a week without rain. They don't seem to mind it though.  In fact they seem to like to have an excuses to splash in the puddles and woohoo in the tent.  It hasn't been all woohoo, however. The couple has been diligently fishing, collecting, and gardening.  They are beginning to think about what to do after Walden, and have a little under 4000 simoleons in the bank at the moment. They plan to spend the following summer in a high rise apartment (That desire pops up from time to time) then rent a house together while attending college.  They are working on their skills so they can get some scholarships. I'm thinking once they get to college, I'll jump around and get more familiar with the townies at University, and see what story progression does with these two.  Will they stay tog...
