Sagehen Mesa Season 4, Episode 10 - Cliff tries his luck in Petite Alsace - Told by Paul
Help! I'm participating in this elaborate heist under duress! I was hoping Cliff would be satisfied with the loot I brought up from the basement of the museum in Champs le Sims, but apparently 4715 simoleons isn't enough. So here we are in Petite Alsace to see if we can defeat the alarm system of the museum here.
I really just want to go home! This whole trip is cursed, starting with us basically abducting a teenager and taking him out of the country. I just know he'll be missed anytime now, no matter what kind of story he told his parents to explain his absence of a few days. Cliff seems oblivious to the consequences waiting for us if we don't get him home soon.
At least we get to stay in a swanky hotel instead of a hostel type of situation.
The first thing Cliff did after check-in was grab something to eat at the bar.
I was too nervous to eat, so I thought I'd check on Jarod and make sure he wasn't spooked by he experiences so far. I think the only thing that might save us is, if and when we get caught, he tells authorities he came willingly.
"Hey Jarod, how's it going? Did you have fun on the heist? Are you excited to get your cut of the profits?"
If you keep it up, by the time you graduate, you should have quite a nest egg to purchase nice things for yourself.
Art galleries are just the beginning. There are a lot of opportunities to make money as a member of the crew.
The kid seems pretty receptive so far. I'm going to try and convince Cliff to let him enjoy some culture and steer clear of danger on this leg of the journey. He's already expressed his unease in stealing artwork and depriving the general public from the opportunity to see it, but he also seems to be happy to be along for the ride.
I think he needs to experience some perks to the job - like visiting exotic places. Luckily, Cliff agreed that Jarod is more of a liability than an asset in a museum heist, so Jarod was allowed to enjoy his time here without having to participate.
Meanwhile, Cliff had me blow up a sculpture in the sculpture garden to create a distraction while he cased the joint.
Unfortunately, the security system inside the museum was to sophisticated to disarm, and all Cliff managed to steal from the museum was a landmark dedication sign at the front of the building. I believe he fenced it for 200 simoleons.
But Cliff would not give up! If he couldn't lift anything from the museum, he was going to see what he could get from other locations. He managed to get ahold of a picnic table and dining chair from a nearby campground, some lights and an ice cream prop from the beach, and some money bags from a money tree out at the local nectary. All told, his haul was 1114 simoleons. My income from Petite Alsace came from a couple space rocks I found lying around, some toys I made, . . .
. . .and the scrap I collected from blowing up that sculpture - a mere 378 simoleons. Jarod completed a sketch and took some pictures; his haul was 12 simoleons and a lot of fond memories.
We decided it was best not to be seen with each other, so Cliff hung out at the nectary, hobnobbing with the locals on our last day, . . .
. . . while I stayed around the art museum, making toys.
Jerod enjoyed the arboretum and theater.
All-in-all, our stay was enjoyable but not profitable. Cliff wants to return to Champs le Sims and try robbing the dead. Sheesh!
