Cohort #1 had only a few days left before their evaluation and release onto the planet to make their homes. Brandon suddenly decided to learn some cooking skills after realizing chances were pretty slim of him having a synthesizer of his own.
It surprised the heck out of me! Of course he hasn't given up his dancing.
We had a visitation from an interstellar burglar, but he couldn't figure out how to breach the barrier into the dome. Ha ha! Outsmarted you!
I thought he might steal the time portal, but I think he glitched out.
Umm, Brandon? How'd you get out? Did you tunnel your way out or something? Back in you go! All the team members are stir-crazy and looking forward to their exit interviews.
They're starting to find all kinds of reasons to argue. "You like hot pink!?! Don't you know that pastel pink is superior? What a loser!"
I think Brandon and Precious are studying for their final evaluation. Meanwhile Traci and Westley have autonomously made a love connection.
I even caught them sleeping in the same bed together! That was a first.
Precious started and ended this project by battling the evil chicken.
So these candidates were scored on a variety of things, and in the last few days I subjected them to some new experiences. First, I made use of the dream pods and had everyone dream about social situations. Some had good results and others had bad dreams. But most of them felt the desire to socialize more, maybe because they know they are going their separate ways in a few short days.
I also sent each candidate to eat a fruit from the prosperity tree and each gained a random skill. Finally, thanks to our friendly neighborhood University Mascot, we had ample aptitude tests available to be taken. Their scores were figured into the mix.
Kendrick and Traci were strongest in the areas of tech and science and medicine; Westley scored the highest of all of them with a proclivity toward fine arts; Brandon scored the lowest, but leaned toward the business career path, and both Precious and Camille favored science and medicine.
When all was said and done, here's how everyone ranked and what they won:
1st place: Westley - 50,000 simoleons
2nd place: Traci - 30,000 simoleons
3rd place: Precious - 20,000 simoleons
4th place: Kendrick - 15,000 simoleons
5th place: Camille - 10,000 simoleons
6th place: Brandon - 5,000 simoleons
I started with Brandon and worked my way up setting them up in their own homes. I assumed 5,000 simoleons wouldn't take Brandon far, figuring he'd be lucky with a tent and a firepit, but we did a little bit better. Brandon loves to swim, has the sailor trait, and is a party animal, so I figured he'd be happiest on the beach with a boat, albeit a small one, a juice keg, and a roof over his head. It ain't fancy, but I think it suits him.
He has an uncomfortable twin bed, an outdoor shower, and toilet facilities in the same room as his bed. He also has a mini fridge, so at least he won't starve.
I wish I could have gotten him a chair, but there was not room for even the cheapest one in the budget.
It seems I'm always taking pictures at night. Oh, well. This is Camille's place. I thought it would be a piece of cake having twice the budget as the previous house, but it was a struggle. Camille is Avant Garde, a snob, and ambitious, so it's all about outer appearances to her. She wanted a sleek, modern house. It originally started out bigger than this little thing, but I had to convince her we needed money in the budget for the necessities of life - like a bed to sleep in and a dedicated indoor bathroom. Still, she only had a few candles for light and she only has a mini fridge and an outdoor grill for preparing food. She had a couple seeds in her inventory, so she planted them out front. At least there was room in the budge for one cheap folding chair.

I need to check my Story Progression settings for this save file. It took off like vengeance when I took Camille over to help her get settled into her house. By the time I got back, Kendrick had acquired a puppy! Now I have to figure pet items into the budget. Kendrick strikes me as a typical single frat boy. I took his 15,000 simoleons and set him up in something akin to a trailer, but he has a lot more amenities than either Brandon or Camille - not that they would appreciate anything electronic.
Here's Kendrick's set-up.
(Again with the night photos!)
Kendrick's home features a REAL kitchen, REAL dining area, REAL bathroom, REAL bedroom with a comfortable bed, and a living area with a small TV, small ghetto blaster, a juice bar, and a bookcase. His little pup has a food bowl and some toys.
Next up is Precious with 20,000 simoleons. Her house is similar to Camille's, but it's fully furnished.
She has a good sized TV, a bookcase, a coffee maker, and a lounge chair. She lives next door to Kendrick.
While I was introducing Precious to her house, I got this notification.
It looks like they are getting serious. Furthermore, Traci adopted a kitten. They decided to pool their earnings and build a big house on the hill together. Like Camille's house, this one is pretty empty inside but has a nice living area, nice kitchen with breakfast bar, one bedroom with ensuite and one bathroom on the main floor. It also features breath-taking views. They have plenty of room to grow in this house!
I'm not 100% happy with the exterior of this house. I may need to re-skin it. And I tried to delete the chimney because it sticks up way too high, but for some reason I couldn't. Maybe it's the shift-click object delete thing. I didn't try that.
This is the view off the back porch.
Master bedroom- bathroom is behind that wall in the back.
Master bath - maybe the light was off when I took this screenshot. There's a shower in the right foreground and toilet on the left.
Kitchen area. The formal dining room will be behind that wall and will have a nice view out the back.
The living area.
The view from the front deck.
I also added a couple community lots. The Lunastia Central Government building is a work in progress. It has the rabbithole rug for the city hall, law enforcement, and military, but the building is still an empty shell.

The building behind it is the Skylight Studio of the Arts from the store. The store had it as a gym with exercise equipment, a pool, a few dance studios, and an area with a stage. It just never seemed like a good combination. I took out the pool room and set up musical instruments and chairs for an audience, took out the exercise equipment and replaced it with an art room with easels and things to paint, and replaced the stage with a performance stage for Showtime acts. (Some of those performer seems to have hopped a spaceship to get here - probably privately funded. Maybe they caught a ride with the paparazzi as they are hanging around too.) I hope I set up the audience benches and tables correctly. Time will tell. I also put the theater rabbithole rug in there so Westley could get a musician job. And I replaced the hot tub in back with a prosperity tree. I think there's a basement to this building that I haven't explored. The weather stone spawned here of its own accord.

I took out all the Earth landscape and put in those hologram plants from Into the Future.
Kendrick was there and kind enough to turn them on for me. I'm sure I'll be tweaking this lot from time to time as ideas occur to me. I thought this building fit nicely into the environment.
The new cohort for the domes has arrived and I think story progression is on full blast. I need to fix that because I'm starting to switch households and things are getting crazy. I wanted to see if a different group would interact with the habitat and each other differently, and they are. I'm sure part of it is due to Story Progression taking hold of them when I was taking pictures and testing out the Art Studio.
We'll meet the new arrivals in the next episode.
