With the first cohort of "official" settlers now out in the world living their lives, it's time to turn our attention to cohort #2. Things are a little different for this batch as there is some civilization here. It appears those who came over via privately owned spacecraft have brought small animals along, and one of the members of cohort #2 managed to get their hands on a kitten. This seems to be a major obsession of the entire group, and they will not leave the poor critter alone. But we'll get to the cat in a minute. Let's first take a look at the bios of the human members of this group.
Jamie McMillan is handy, an animal lover, has a green thumb, is a supernatural sceptic and is evil.
Of course, the first thing she had to do was frighten her team members. Her victim here is Ahmad Ring. He is a savvy sculptor, a bot fan, and a dog person. He is also good and easily impressed.
I think one of the women is responsible for introducing the kitten to the project, but it was Ahmad and his zeal for bots that introduced the other member of the group. CLYDE was created. His quality is "duct taped," but he has a limited learning chip that I think he came with, and Ahmad created, after a lot of struggle, a competent cleaner chip and installed it.
Next we have
Stephan Willis who hates the outdoors, is good, a genius, a natural cook, and a schmoozer.
Here he is chilling out near the hot tub (a thing the previous cohort NEVER did,) having a nice conversation with Sheena Wrotek.
One of Sheena's big goals seems to be finding a husband and raising a family. She is artistic, friendly, hot-headed, loves the outdoors, and is family oriented. She's the one who doesn't need a push to develop and improve skills.
Evil Jaimey decided to hurt Sheena's feelings by criticizing her artistic efforts. Not a good way to make friends, Jaimey.
I guess Jaimey was so focused on how to do mean things that she didn't pay attention to her bladder. I guess she got her comeuppance!
Let's move on to Moses Armstead. He has a good sense of humor, is a bookworm, a loser, athletic, and Avant Garde. I think he's my favorite of the group.
I think he's the only one who ever showed any interest in the exercise equipment.
The first cohort never even used the gym at all - except for the hot tub.
He had a near miss with an interstellar traveler. For a minute I thought I was finally going to be able to put the nursery to use! He saw the pretty lights and everything, but I guess because he was trapped in the dome, he was safe.
Rest easy, Moses. She has moved on to find someone else to probe and impregnate.
Here he is accusing Ahmad of being a sell-out. He doesn't even know the guy that well.
This group didn't escape the inconvenience of sabotaged equipment. Meet Cori Gabriel, our resident technophobe.
At least this group has only one saboteur, and ironically, she is also handy, which means I can send her to fix all the things she has broken. She is also socially awkward, hydrophobic, and a dog person. She seems to get along with people pretty well. I think she only put her foot in her mouth once during this "training session."
After talking with Sheena, it appears Stephan is asking about Cori's views on marriage.
Here's some other things that happened during this phase of the project.
This cohort was far more likely to autonomously do some real cooking.
I wasn't sure jet packs could be used inside the dome, but I guess they can.
I think Sheena is wondering how she got placed with all these weirdos.
Almost all members gained at least some gardening skill. As they were always up top hassling the cat, I often redirected them to the garden so they could make themselves useful.
RELATIONSHIPS
I'm sure Story Progression gets the credit for most of this as relationships were slow to form when I was controlling everyone in the first cohort, but when I was making some adjustments on the outside world, Moses, who is supposed to be a loser, managed to snag two romantic interests: Sheena . . .
and Jaimey.
Sheena would clearly have been the better choice. She was much more faithful than Jaimey, . . .
. . . who flirted with all the boys, even in front of Moses.
He never seemed bothered by her behavior. I guess he's not the jealous type. In the end, Moses chose Jaimey. (What a loser!)
Ahmad seemed torn between Jaimey, Cori and Precious (from the first cohort.) Somehow he must have known Precious before this project began. Maybe they knew each other in college and both had decided to join the Lunastia Project at the same time, but were placed in separate cohorts. Communication restrictions were lifted for the second cohort and they were able to communicate with others on the planet (if they knew them.) Ahmad and Precious made frequent calls to each other.
I saw some romantic interactions with Jaimey and with Cori, but I thought both were just fleeting flirts.
In fact, I was unaware that he was really sweet on Cori until the end when I built their houses and placed them in separate ones. Then Ahmad had a want to move in with Cori. Then, while I was taking care of another situation that occurred with the first cohort, this popped up:
I guess I'd better move her in with him! More on each team member's results and rewards in the next episode.
